  1. I wish this site had the type of classifieds Calguns or even the PA Gun Forum have. I'm not sure why this site has such little action in classifieds other than dealers. My guess is the format. As far as buying and selling if NJ allowed C&R Licenses I certainly would have one. It would have saved me thousands in transfers the last couple years. However NJ does not so what is a person who is looking to upgrade their collectible firearms supposed to do? Only buy the most expensive and best they can find, or buy one, enjoy it, then sell for ideally a profit when a better one comes along. I prefer the second route. We don't have gun shows in NJ, we don't have C&R Licenses in NJ, so we need a place for collectors to be able to trade and collect. I don't think a liberal Puke site like Facebook is the answer. We already have the answer right here it just needs to be better implemented. As far as C&R Licenses maybe Obama's executive order will have the unintended consequence of NJ recognizing C&R Licenses so that we can be in compliance with the emperor's mandate. 2. First and foremost get out and vote. If everyone who says their vote doesn't matter voted these tyrants would be gone. Secondly gun owners need to grow a set. Anyone that complies if this is passed deserves to lose their rights. If every gun owner refuses to comply instead of running for the hills what are they going? Take away our rights to own guns? Again refuse to comply. They will create a black market. Imprison all of us? Good luck with that. The whole state would collapse because the people actually working wouldn't be able to pay taxes and they would have to build more prisons to house and feed us. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  3. Manalapan is a Republican town. Not strong Republican but traditionally Republican none the less. Problem is most NJ Republicans like Christie are RINOs. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. I did send email to NJ2AS but never got a response Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  5. Well today is day 30 since I applied for my handgun permits. Needless to say it is not ready. Manalapan now gives you a number and when your permit is ready they post it online. The closest number to mine is 15274 which is over 200 numbers lower than mine which means there are over 200 people ahead of me. Since applying the highest number was 15225 so less than 50 permits were issued in the last month. At this rate it will be at least 4 months before my handgun permits are ready. 6. I would say the white guy was drunk or high or mentally unstable. In normal society you walk away and call the police. Instead the animals went into a mob mentality and repeatedly attacked him. Just another reason to allow CCW. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. That is not true. Your drivers license can have a PO Box. One of the reasons for having a PO Box is if you are being stalked. Also any reason deemed ok by DMV director is allowed. In all honesty I tried to changed my address when I renewed my license and the clerk told me I would have to go to Trenton to change my address because I didn't have enough proof with me that day of new address and it was the last day before my license expired. Thus why I still have a PO Box on my license that i was given an exemption for years ago. http://www.njlaws.com/39-3-9b.html?id=3691&a= Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  8. Drivers License does not need to match FID. FID needs to be your current residence. In my case my drivers license has a PO Box address and my FID has my home address. I have not had a problem yet. When going somewhere new I bring along other proof that I live at address on FID such as property tax bill and utility bill. Now I also have Utah and Florida CCW Licenses that have home address that matches FID and they have photo on them, so I would hope I would not have a problem anywhere with those as further ID and proof of address. However I have not tested it at any new stores yet. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe not a Russian one, but does anyone know if there are any companies making a similar rifle? I've been wanting to get a AK-74 Variant and after watching the video I am sold on the double piston zero recoil and would like to have a similar setup. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. NJ does not have a duty to retreat in your home. There are a few states that do require one to retreat in their own home which is ridiculous. As for loaded magazines my interpretation is if the magazines are loaded in a locked container and the handgun is unloaded in a separate locked container and you are traveling directly to and from your home and your place of business, home and range, home and FFL you are ok. As for locked container the law says bundled and tied which does sound like wrapped in newspaper and string is OK, but I wouldn't test that with loaded magazine and handgun. I usually use firesafe for magazines and handguns in locked case inside of range bag (no reason to announce I have a handgun in case being that I have a SUV). There is no reason to volunteer you have firearms in your vehicle if you get pulled over on your way from your home to one of the approved location. I am not an attorney. This is just my interpretation of the statue as written. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  11. That was a great explanation. Finally I understand why 15 years ago I was able to purchase a handgun in South Carolina within minutes of the FFL swiping my SC DL through a machine. I assume SC was not a POC State and NICS came back instantly because there was no other agencies involved. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  12. We paying the $20 to the NJSP for 212A check correct? So the NJSP do their own investigation then the municipality further looks into the information for the FID and P2P, but they don't use NICS for this process? Is that correct? Then NICS is a Federal System Check? If so does anyone know what PICS is? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  13. That's what I kind of figured but a friend of mine was telling me he didn't pay for background check on renewal. I think he may have forgotten he did. I knew I didn't pay on initial but it being part of fingerprint fee makes sense. Just seems redundant that you pay for background check for permits that are only good for 90days (180 if extended) then each time you get a firearm (other than private party Resident to Resident) you pay for NICS background check again. I guess the state's reasoning is to make sure you didn't get in legal trouble between permit issuing and firearm purchase. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  14. For additional handgun permits is it normal to have to pay State Police $20 for background check? I don't remember going online and paying $20 for initial FID and handgun permits. Just curious if this is the norm? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  15. I confirmed Manalapan does contact boss/manager as additional reference Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  16. Another thing that Manalapan does that I do not believe is allowed is they send a letter to your employer. There is no spot for name of manager on application but in the "back room" I was asked my employers name so that he knew who to address the letter to. I'm self employed so it didn't affect me, but it did not seem right. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  17. Actually we don't need a recorded conversation. They are so brazen that all 3 (typed, days, wait) are right on the Manalapan Township Website. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  18. How do we have this in NJ? I've never seen anything about those on no fly list not being able to purchase a gun. As a matter of fact I have a friend who is on a no fly list because his name matches that of an IRA member. He can not purchase tickets online, check in with airport valets or kiosk, he has to prove he is not the IRA member to fly, his luggage goes through extra screening, and his luggage can not be on the flight unless he is (an advantage he never misses his flight at a layover since they have to unload his luggage if he isn't on the flight) yet he was able to obtain FID, PTP, and purchase a handgun and rifle. 19. I just found out about this today that it has gotten this bad. It used to be twice a week then once a week walk in drop off application and leave. Now twice a month and waiting an hour enough is enough. I only sat through it so I can have standing in any suit. I am going to research who to contact and will be making calls and writing letters. 20. Total time spent 1hr. Behind closed doors just checked for completeness of application. Had no problem telling me it would take at least 4 months for permits. So much for 30 days. It took 4 and 6 weeks to get my Utah and Florida CCW. How can another state be that much more efficient than the town I have lived in for 37 out of 41 yrs of my life. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  21. As luck would have it today was one of the now only 2 days per month Manalapan accepts firearms applications. I have been sitting here waiting my tur, to hand in my application for permits to purchase handguns for 45 minutes now. This is not my initial. I own multiple handguns and long guns and I have both a Florida and Utah CCW. A retired cop calls each person behind closed doors one at a time. At least I am happy to see 20 people exercising their 2nd Amendment Rights. I will update on total time waited and what happens behind the closed door. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  22. I completely agree. I'm sure Woodbridge is busier than Manalapan. Manalapan only allows paperwork to be submitted once a week and will not accept paperwork unless it is typed which seems illegal to me. Nowhere in the statute does it say it must be typed. What happens if you have someone older like my father who doesn't type and doesn't even use a computer. Anyone know the legality of refusing hand written applications? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  23. That sounds more typical. Took 5 months last time I got handgun permits in Manalapan. A friend of mine is a State Trooper and it took him 4 months in Fair Haven. Which towns in NJ take less than a month? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  24. What statute was he charged and convicted under? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  25. What town in NJ gets permits done in 3 weeks? Are towns allowed to arbitrarily deny extensions? Personally I enjoy collecting military rifles more than handguns, but part of the reason I gloss over handguns for sale is how long the permit takes. However if I have some on hand I do tend to use them. I think I will apply for new permits; 6 of them. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
