  1. Spot on. I know it's highly improbable, but I'm riding off the high of tracking down and getting back my Colt Sporter I sold when I left in 2018 and figured why not.
  2. This is an immense long shot, but is there a possibility that someone on NJ Gun Forums has a 2015 manufactured CZ 75 PCR with the serial B822931? I was new gun owner and like an idiot, I sold it to Luciano's Sport Shop in Lodi around May 2016. I remember seeing it on his FB page as a used gun and it definitely sold sometime between May to July 2016. Luciano's seems to be out of business, but I doubt he'd just release a customer's contact information. I live in Texas now and would be more than happy to pay for the shipping myself. If there any other NJ gun groups that you guys are a part of, I'd really appreciate it if you could signal boost this odd request. Thanks in advance!
  3. Been trying to get into light-weight builds. Maybe the July Aero kit wasn't the one I should have used, but eh, Murica.
  4. Looks like 18/19 won, so the final poll is to pick Saturday or Sunday. https://strawpoll.com/45sgd1xz If anyone wants to come by, shoot me a PM and I'll add you an email list/Google Doc with RSVP info.
  5. https://www.stagarms.com/model-3h/ Stolen off /r/gundeals. NJ compliant optic-ready upper for $249 shipped from Stag.
  6. https://www.reddit.com/r/NJGuns/comments/75hh7d/november_cherry_ridge_meet_up/ Crossposting this from r/NJGuns on reddit. Anyone want to get together a meetup at Cherry Ridge this November? Strawpoll's up to pick a date and it looks like everyone's leaning the last weekend before Thanksgiving (18/19).
  7. Dude, are you "nonestump" on reddit? I feel like I see you on all the gun subreddits I go to.
  8. https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-sparc-ar-red-dot-sight.html Use the coupon RED30.
  9. Hi guys. A bunch of police surplus Magnums and Wingmasters have been popping up on the Internet. I'm not that versed in shotguns so I have to defer to you guys. Are there any notable differences between the two models I should take into consideration? All I know is that these models are generally considered way better than the Express ones.
  10. In addition, can anyone confirm the veracity of this site? I don't want to get my hopes up over a fake news site.
  11. Didn't realize Bergen County had so many closet gun owners. Welcome aboard.
  12. Ended up finding a .308 Remington 600 locally. Thanks for the lead, Parker! Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  13. They also offer Model 7s with an 18.5" barrel, but I've not heard good things about Freedom Group Remington.
  14. I will definitely check that out, just wish it was a fixed mag like the Guide Gun (stripper clips are fun).
  15. Hey guys, Recently, I picked up a 7.62N converted Chilean 1895 Mauser cavalry carbine. I should have done more research beforehand, because it seems that a number of the conversions were spotty at best and it's not recommended to shoot them. Two different gunsmiths have looked at it and deemed it safe to shoot, but to stick with low powered surplus/handloads, so I plan to shoot it, but sparingly. However, I do like the overall length (37") and the idea of a carbine bolt gun with iron sights appeals to me. Does anyone have any recommendations for any modern production bolt actions that might be worth checking out? The Savage Scout 11 looks nice, but it's around 40". Pic below, it's the 1895 I got.
  16. Welcome aboard, Bergenite. I think you also posted this to /r/NJGuns?
  17. I'm also shooting a PM, for a Springfield M1 and Rock Island 1903.
  18. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I mean, all I all have is my word. I was just taken aback at how angry he was I even asked that question.
  19. I think I've had the (dis)pleasure of dealing with this guy too. Last year when I first got my FPID, I went to Ottomanelli's to check out their long guns. Some guy was showing me an NJ compliant Colt and in an effort to make small talk, I said "I know NJ has an assault weapons ban. What makes the ARs and AKs in the shop legal?" Then he ripped the AR out of my hands and barked "It's illegal to disclose that information." I walked out of there and never went back.
  20. Thanks everybody! Haha, fair enough, but someone's got to keep the community going. The main /r/NewJersey is actually pretty supportive of gun ownership in the whole "as long as you follow the law and don't hurt people, who cares" spirit. Correct, my good sir. Nice to see another Jerseyan that spent some time over in the Indiana cornfields. I haven't been back since graduation, but I miss the state.
  21. Englewood Cliffs, NJ No additional paperwork required, but this department feels no need to process applications in a timely manner. Here's my timeline: - November 2013: Decided to get an FPID. Filled out the application and mental health check form and dropped them off with the bored looking cop at the front desk at the station. - November 2014: Walked by the station when suddenly I vaguely remembered dropping off an application of some sort last year. Inquire with the department and the detective responsible for issuing FPIDs claims never to have received any applications within the last 5 years. At this point, I was considering whether or not to take a job offer in Dallas so I didn't bother following up. - February 2015: Turned down the Dallas offer, so I begin the process all over again. No interview per say, but when signing off on the application, detective did ask what purpose of application was for. Got fingerprinted and all my necessary paperwork was completed on the last day of February and sent out. - September 2015: After months of follow up emails and calls, FPID and pistol permit issued. 2nd Pistol Permit - November 2015: Paperwork submitted. References are actually sent a letter this time. - March 2016: Permit issued. 3rd and 4th Pistol Permits - May 2016: Paperwork submitted. Still waiting as of 8/14/2016.
  22. Hello everybody, New(ish) member checking in from Bergen County. I actually had an account here a while back asking about the FPID process but I don't remember my login name or email. I've had my FPID for about a year now and own a small collection of firearms, although now that I work in NYC proper now, I imagine I won't be buying a lot anytime soon. You can also find me on /r/njguns, but it seems like the majority of NJ shooters are here.
