  1. Basically this is a Supreme Court matter and until that happens, we will continue to deal with NJ's assanine concealed carry laws. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. As long as you are going to/from your destination and not making any inreasonable pitstops (and have the firearm properly stowed), you'll be fine. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. Yes and no ptp for long guns. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. I haven't pursued this further since this time last year. It took me 8 months to get a P2P from the NJSP and I finally got my G43 about a month ago. The SP told me I'd have to qualify with the handgun I planned to carry so having to wait 8 months to even purchase a new handgun set me back. In addition to that, I've been way to busy with life in general lately to deal with the SP's bull$hit, but I do plan on reattacking this issue in the future. We shall see what comes out of the AG's office. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. People just need to keep making hidden videos and putting it on the news to expose the corruption. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. The Colonel needs to "sign off" on them. I highly doubt he hand signs each one of them as the signature on mine looked like a precanned image of his signature. A friend of mine got his FID and P2P from the Pemberton PD in 2 weeks so yes, it can be done. Local PD's have their chief sign them. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. This is a process that has been exposed for what it is (a complete failure) time and time again with no fix because our state legislature doesn't want to fix it. In their eyes, the harder it is and the longer it takes to get an FID and/or PtP, the better. They hope that we'll just give up. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. What this seems like is not a case of incompetence or backups in the system due to high volume. It seems like disgruntled State Police who don't like their Republican governor because he's not given them the pensions/benefits they believe they deserve. I'm sure they group all of us gun toting people as Republicans. I recall a snide remark about Christie when I was there also. Christie really has nothing to do with the process. Like I said, I've got a friend who got his FID and PtP in about two weeks from the PD in Pemberton so it *can* be done. I honestly don't know how Pemberton could process a mental health records check in two weeks, but they did. There was one trooper at Red Lion who I could tell was getting sick of me being in there. I spent about 30 min at that window in military uniform one day firing questions at him about why I couldn't apply for a carry permit after he laughed at me for wanting to try. 9. They are definitely a bunch of winners there... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  10. Your story sounds all too familiar, but I had a much different experience after I called Trenton. I live in Shamong and had to go through the Red Lion SP barracks myself with very similar results. I turned my application in late March of 2015 for an FID and PtP. Both were completed on August 6th, but Red Lion never called me to tell me it was ready. After calling them several times and being told, "If we haven't called you, it isn't ready.", I decided to pay them a visit in October. The trooper behind the desk checked their filing cabinet and pulled out my FID/PtP. It wasn't until then that I realized it had come in, but I never got a call. Of course now they had eaten up two of the three months the permit is valid for. I got busy and had to go out of town on a military trip, so I wound up going back there the day the PtP expired to get it extended. NEVER DO THIS WITH THE NJSP!! They take the permit and send it back to Trenton for extension! Friends of mine had told me they walked right into their local PD's and had their permits signed and extended right there, but the SP send it back to Trenton. Needless to say two and a half months go by with no permit and I decided to pay them a visit again in late January. No permit. So I left and called Trenton. After speaking with the lady and explaining my situation (I assume it is the same one you spoke to), she seemed sympathetic. She said that she'd have it extended and would have it mailed right to my house. 3 days later it was in my mailbox. To my surprise, she had it extended into April, even though it was originally issued in August! BTW, I have a buddy who got his FID and PtP in a week and a half in Pemberton. 11. I would have never answered yes to that question if I had seen a therapist for girlfriend problems. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  12. Only military police qualify under LEOSA. Not just any weapons current/qualified personnel. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  13. I'm current and qualified active military and got laughed at when I tried to apply for mine. What makes them think they're any more special? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. This is not about ccw on base. This is about military personnel (other than military police) arming up with service weapons (M-9) and open carrying. I doubt we'll ever see commanders accepting responsibility for military members carrying service weapons off base or military members carrying personal firearms concealed on base.
