  1. Shit, same. @fishnut will trade ammo for jerky if its good stuffs!
  2. Great, thanks fellas. Will call em in the AM, Supposed to meet with someone to transfer the scorpion if all goes well. Yes, heard that about bobs. Would rather avoid them regardless because of the price tag. 5$ more just for convenience, sure, but DOUBLE the price of literally EVERY competitor seems a bit much to me.
  3. Any suggestions? Always paid 25+nics up at monmouth arms but need something local. Bobs is close but is 50$+Nics, Not sure if theres better rates around. Thanks!
  4. Fwiw i posted about my fairly recent purchase attempt there in another thread. I drove all the way there with my family to buy a stoeger 12g around halloween. On the phone they said yeah sure come down. Sure enough after waiting forever and then the employee taking 30+ minutes to assemble the thing (eventually another knowledgeable guy came in and put it together in 15 seconds flat) while trying to convince me to buy a mossberg, i finally get to fill out the paperwork. 2 hours into my attempt at a purchase (i knew what i wanted coming in and even had them hold it aside for me ahead of time) one of the managers comes out and says that they dont know if my (standard) FID is real. Why? The hand written date of issue, fingerprint wasnt rolled, and one side was white while the other is tan. All standard procedure for most PDs issuing FIDs. So, call them and make sure before you waste your time. Shouldnt be an issue but after 5+ hours wasted driving etc they said theyll call me when they find out if my fid is real in 2 or 3 days. I ended up waiting over a week... bitched to corporate about it and got.a store credit but other than to spend the credit i likely wont buy there again.
  5. Cant say i have,.to be honest. Read plenty of reviews and such and it seems to be one of the best out there. Lots of backpackers and such use it. Thing isnt cheap either. Can apparently drink anything with it... ceramic filter thats silver impregnated IIRC.
  6. Right now my plan is to fix it up and keep it until someone offers something worthwhile. My guesstimate was around 8 or 9k tbh. Someone down here will buy it and take it off roading. As far as its use, never been offroading or anything. Was driven from Bayonne to the QVC HQ in PA every day, hence the mileage. Thing has likely never seen gravel let alone dirt or mud lol. Will see what my uncle says as far as its mechanical condition and go from there.
  7. Do you think itd be accurate? I cant find anything similar to find real life pricing. Kbb is fairly accurate for your average vehicle, but ive found that for stuff such as motorcycles or atvs its often far off.. how much value info can they have on a 200k+ mile 5 year old jeep? Lol. Gona check it out now though, thanks. Edit: looks like private party value of 10 to 12k depending on condition ('fair' vs 'good'). I expected it to be right around there, so thats good. Now to wait and see what repairs and such it might need.. drove fine when i drove it.
  8. Regarding needing water for the freeze dried stuff, everyone should have a purifier. I have a Katadyn myself thats sitting in the safe. Also have a lifestraw. Katadyn filters out almost anything thatd make water taste funky. If youre talking about Shtf food stashes, you should already have had water covered.... youll dehydrate long before youll starve.
  9. Hey folks. FIL is moving to Michigan, and left his jeep for my S/O and i (paying him for it but irrelevant). Its a 2013 Jeep wrangler, sahara 4wd with navigation, leather, heated seats. No Back up camera. Hard and soft tops. The catch? It has like 215k miles on it. I took it to my uncles shop to look over the whole car A to Z. Debating if to just sell it for him or keep it for myself, but what do you think its worth? Good shape overall but typical wear given its use; worn drivers seat, that kinda thing. Dent in front plastic bumper but ill probably get some lightly used steel ones to replace it since they cost a fraction of what theyd cost for my F150. Maybe even a small lift.. It was well maintained overall and other than a minor mechanical glitch that is to be repaired, what is it worth approximately? My understanding is a New Transmission was installed a few thousand miles ago that should still be under warranty. KBB on your average 2013 sahara is like 20k but of course with like 70k Miles. Just wondering what to expect and also that way i know what to give him as soon as i find out what itll cost to fix any issues with it. Thanks fellas.
  10. Fortunately stayed home. Got like 3" of snow. Not enough to take snowmobiles out on the new property without tearing up the grass. Womp :/ Tell ya what though, my ass went and picked a tractor up right after that. No thanks to shoveling that crud. Thank god it all melted. Lol
  11. Easily. The acceleration on them is insane. The issue is Traction. Never enough traction. I've sunk my track more than a handful of times because i gunned it I've got an F8 LXR. Stay away from the Polaris Pro-R, my father has one and within like two years the suspension system failed. Complete garbage. My Arctic cat has been going strong. At the end of the day they are all the same shit, just get something that fits your riding style. I Love my F8. Its nice and heavy and rides best out of all of the sleds we have, by far. Nice and Smooth. If you want to go Cray Cray, youll be looking at something else.
  12. Oh snap, lucky you. That's awesome. I haven't gone snowmobiling in like 3 years, whole family has been ridiculously busy and we can never find a time where we can all dedicate 3 days to head up for a long weekend. Rode up in Old Forge NY. Been sneaking in rides every time we get some snow locally, but its obviously just not the same haha.
  13. Can i bring my snowmobile?!?! LOL Where are you???
  14. I Don't hunt but would love to get into it. Maybe next year i'll have the time and money to put into it. We only eat Kosher meat at home (Mothers rules, and since i moved back in, i can't complain) so that crap gets expensive. Would gladly bring home a couple hundred pounds of meat!
  15. Yep. I can't imagine working with 1 of my "high capacity" Milwaukee batteries in my coat pocket. Would probably uncomfortable as heck. You don't really notice the small 12V milwaukee batteries so its cool. The 18V ones on the other hand you could probably feel.
  16. The 5AH batteries are heavy to lug around when workin' though. I have a bunch of the milwaukee M12 ones in the warehouse. If you want to test one out, Zeke, im sure i have an open one you can try on just to see how the heat is. Just don't tell the boss Also, FWIW i think home depot had ones you could try on?? I had a 1st gen one that i got in when we first got into the bidness and it always seemed to suck. Have heard nothing but good things about the new ones though. I may keep one for myself this year.
  17. This right here just killed me. I don't know why i found it so funny/sad..
  18. Been there, done that. Eotech with flip to side magnifier. Hated it, sold them for tons of money to someone who could appreciate them, and ended up going with cheaper sights for them. Those two sights paid for a new rifle.. lol My personal favorite is my ACOG's but thats big bucks. Plenty of stuff out there though with low magnification that'll get the job done for a fraction of the price. All of my AR's have some sorta magnification on them other than my 22lr AR (S&W MP15-22), which as a RDS on it, and i only shoot within 50 yards or so with that. I Shoot at steel @ 200 yards with them.
  19. Im no pro, so ill answer what i can. yes, the "3-9x" would be magnification. In this case, adjustable from 3x (being the least magnification) all the way to 9x, including 4x, 5x, 6x, etc.. Not just one or the other. The 'mm' is the diameter, you'll also see some that are 1". Another common one would be, say, 30mm. I dont know how the diameter works with field of view and such other than the obvious (Bigger would mean you could see more). I think itd have to do with letting more light in and such too, someone else will have to chime in on that. illuminated would be the reticle lights up. It's not night vision or anything like that, just helps when shooting in bright light situations and such. I'm no pro so don't quote me on this but 1,000 yards is outside the effective range of your average AR15. 600 yards is about it from what i understand. If you ARE looking to shoot at 1,000 yards, youll likely want something far more powerful than a 1.5-4x scope, or even a 3-9x, maybe a 4-16x would work and even that is a maybe. I Shoot with a 4-16x on my 308 bolt action rifle and id say even at 600 yards itd be a bit tough. Again, im no pro, just chiming in with whatever bit i can. Forums die down this time of night. Also, do some research into optics choices. Plenty of good stuff out there nowadays. Check out Vortex; competitively priced often enough, and *SHOP AROUND*. opticsplanet has decent prices and if you contact them they will give you a discount beyond what it might show or any sales prices, so chat or pick up the phone and bug em'!.
  20. TBH, i said the same thing when i found out... Hahahahaha
  21. Hahaha, My mom often makes Liver. It's not bad stuff once you get over the fact that you're eating Liver... She grinds it with beef and stuff and makes something similar to Dumplings or Raviolis with it (She's Syrian/Hungarian, lotsa dishes from those regions) too, that stuff is absolutely the bomb. Tons of work so its one of her holiday specials.. That paired with some lamb/chicken soup is amazing. Pretty sure thats the only internal organs i can stomach. The thought of anything else is pretty gross.
  22. Some kinda friggin Processed Pork Product.. In the Mashed, the Green Beans....
  23. Well, i'm Jewish and don't eat Pork, so pop eyes is difficult; they put bacon in freakin EVERYTHING. Found out the hard way. That said, their chicken IS better than KFC, but, KFC has grilled chicken, as well. Overall, KFC takes the win. If im feelin' tenders or the likes, though, popeyes tenders, fries, and chicken is 1000% better than KFC. Still far better stuff out there though..
  24. Agree with this. The "Boneless wings" are the shit. Going to miss that place. They are actually a chain, if you look it up many college campuses have "Wings Over _____".
