  1. Thanks for the info. Not too many flowers in my area. One side is a farm that (so far) grows soy beans. Its probably 20+ acres. Other side is a house on 3 acres, wide open. And lots and lots of trees behind our lots that are swampy.
  2. In honor of this thread, i picked up another TLR-1 HL rifle kit... After selling my TLR-1 HL.. lol. cheaper than buying the remote setup separately. craps esspensive.
  3. cool i'm going to talk to the boss man and see if hes up for it. I think its an AWESOME idea.
  4. Well i don't mean like if i stick my hand in the hive. I meant are they going to be all over the backyard area stinging the kids? If i put the bees towards the border of the property it's probably 100 feet from the kids/yard minimum tbh. Id have to check if they allow backyard beekeeping here though. Probably too late to start this year, id have to start next year.
  5. No but id love to get into it next year. We are still settling in, but we have like 14 chickens, now. Two are already laying eggs (we bought them as mature egglayers to experiment) and we got 12 chicks from tractor supply that we've been growing, they are a few months old now. By spring time they should be laying eggs. Father is building a giant fancy coop for them. Looking to diversify as far as what we grow goes. Will be growing a ton of veggies next year as well as planting dozens of fruit trees lining the entire border of the property. Didn't even think to do bees but its a great idea. Do honey bees sting?? Might be an issue with the kids. If not, i totally want to try it. Any resources you can share to look into trying it out??
  6. Now that they have made gazzillions of doll-hairs, they've upgraded to a state of the art facility the size of my town.. lmao I haven't been to the Glassboro location. They were closed today, but tomorrow i'm hitting it up. I've never been so excited and scared for my wallet before. I Gotta stock up on some hardware anyways, running outta grade 5 nuts and bolts from various projects, and they are FAR cheaper than home depot on that stuff. Picking up 1 or 2 Silhouette targets and hoping they have some other cool stuff, like the dueling tree they used to have. They wanted 200$ at the time but it seemed pointless to have for 200 yard shooting.. At 100 yards (or closer for handguns), its worth having now.. hope they still have it, seems like all i can find online anywhere near that price are the diy kits and those will look like butt cheeks.
  7. Lmfao. Theres some good lookin shotguns out there man. If i ever make it big ill buy me a bunch and use em as wallpaper but for now i have two kids i need to try to keep alive so i think im gona try out the stoeger and maybe if a good deal pops up ill snag an o/u with a longer barrel. Mentioned to my folks that googlin this towns code brought up nothing as far as discharge laws so gona talk to the PD tomorrow. Theres a slight chance i could get away with chootin here, excited as hell. Buncha trees thats reserved as a swamp for water retention behind the house so i can put up a backstop in the trees and all.. only issue is noise so ill likely have to stick with 22 toys.. but.. still better than nuthin!
  8. Thinkin of taking the easy way out this time around.. Can pick up 1 or 2 of the silhouette targets from fazzios for 39$ each. As far as a stand, thinking something like this: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/420302/champion-center-mass-steel-2x4-target-stand-tripod-base Stick a few 2x4 cuts in it and call it a day. I'll probably buy two and build two setups. Only thing is mounting the targets up top. A lot of the 2x4 hanger brackets have springs on them; is that really necessary? Going to be using it for handgun at 15-20 yards and rifle at 100 yards (223/556, 9mm carbine etc). I Have the mounting system above with the round plates for my 308 bolt gun at 200 yards. I Thought about just bolting the target right to the wood or somethin. The stupid little hangers cost as much as the stand and time is money, unfortunately.. not much time to play around lately.
  9. I know! They had an awesome dueling tree setup for 200 bucks that i want to pick up if they still offer em'.
  10. Fazio's sells it. They have a location in Wall as well as here in Glassboro. TBH they are overpriced, though. I can get the same targets shipped to my door at their prices. That's what i did last time. This time i'll probably just go to them and save the headache of shopping around over a few bucks, though.. Theyll have all the other crap ill need anyways as soon as i figure out some sorta design. Has to be adjustable width to accommodate a variety of targets.. gona take a bit of thinking.. Either that or just stick with my current design of it hanging on a chain. The issue with that is when you shoot it it swings all over the damn place. Not a big deal at 200 yards as it takes me a sec to fire the next round but at 100 yards (or, say, 20 with handguns), it'll be a pain in the ass when the target is swinging even more.. lol. May just keep the three round plates as a 200 yard setup on the stand pictured above and the 4th "silhouette" target, i'll weld a 2x4 bracket on the back of it and do it that way.
  11. Cool, thanks. This setup works great for what i built it for ie the 200 yard line at R14, but i need standalone plates for handgun and closer rifle use.
  12. No shit. At 10 yards id imagine people get pelted with fragments regularly, no?
  13. Careful now. They can do what they want, including insisting you only put 5rds in your revolver... Maybe plug and then weld shut any extra holes? Hell, who knows. We have to glue shut blocked mags FFS.
  14. Bringing this to the top as it looks like i'll be getting into some (financial) trouble again, building some target setups for single targets. I May go from scratch this time and weld up complete stands, not sure yet. I Live like 5 minutes from Fazio's now, so a trip tomorrow is likely in order to see what they have to offer (plus they used to have an awesome dueling tree for 200 buckaroos). Been months since i've shot, so i gotta keep myself busy 'til Quintons Orientation. Will have a hell of a target setup by then. If anyones interested in trying em out, just holla'. That said, if anyone has any ideas, let me know! Was looking into doing a 2x4 setup with stands and brackets to weld onto the back of targets but i'm not sure how i feel about that. Also trying to think of what targets i could use to practice for 3-gun as far as shotgun goes, or should i literally just stick clays on the ground and practice with those? Even bird shot will wreck 2x4's. Could do a steel 2x4 setup but then there is the risk of ricochets as well as the fact that it'd weigh a ton.. Could do mini versions of the stand i built with black pipe but that crap was crazy expensive. I could weld something outta a semi-thick steel pipe and just patch any holes with a welder or whatever.
  15. Used to plink at little steel targets and crap when i was younger, which is where the idea came up (Found some BB's stuck in my moms old ass planters :D) I had a Gas blowback 1911 for the longest time (Recently threw it away, brother 'borrowed' it, and i got it back years later with the springs so worn the slide just flopped around). that i'd also shoot with. Actually got pretty good with both lol. Anywho, been a long time so i forget what it was like, and i'd never shot a gas blowback rifle. Obviously not identical to the real thing but as far as practicing something like acquiring a target, aiming and pulling the trigger, i'd imagine itd be a great resource if i could find an inexpensive one locally. Only downside is green gas performs terribly in the cold for obvious reasons (it being a gas). AEG's don't have those issues, and i've fought in many winter war scenarios... lol.
  16. Curious if anyone's ever used an Airsoft GBBR to practice/train? They have some pretty damn realistic ones. I'd imagine a Gas Blowback system would be better than an AEG. Used to have a KWA SR10 and i can't see that being too great. Watcha guys think? Have 3+ acres of open land here with a bunch of trees lining the back of the property, so i'd probably set a few metal targets or something up against the trees. That with a few low cap mags (10rds each i guess) would be cool just to practice acquiring targets and such. Can find one to mock my real AR, perhaps.
  17. Thanks for sharing this! Wonder why they are so inconsistent in what they publish. Kinda misleading.. Asked all over and nobody could give me a damn answer, either. Not even the guy who worked there. Never got the promised email from the president either... lol. Obviously 10 yards is unsafe even for a handgun so why they would even put that in the rules is kinda beyond me. 15 Yards is cool for a handgun, but i was hoping for 50 for rifles. I Guess they are just being safe. 100 is better than 200, but can't do any cool youtube-drills-type-shooting at those distances lmao. Gona get a dueling tree rig for shizzle though.
  18. Id have a tow truck tow it elsewhere out of principle. Definitely have him call the cops and complain and see what they say. I've never heard of them not allowing it unless they pulled some shit like WP22 said and need to cover their asses..
  19. Go figure. I searched everywhere on the site and didnt see that info. That said i think 10yds for a rifle is dangerous. Isnt it? Thanks!
  20. Yay. Ill check the details and find out. Maybe we could make something work, lmao. I dont work out btw. Staying round takes work (or lack thereof). My work is my gym, haha. Lotsa carrying boxes, tools, whatever.
  21. Do you even work out bro? Or are you offering a ride to RTSP?
  22. Cant say i do. R14 isnt too crazy far from here so im down for a meet there. Still have membership too for a few more months i believe. Maybe ill have the stoeger m3k by then... just under 600 OTD from Tanners.
  23. RTSP is like 2 and a half hours from here. I dont think ill be making it there. If we do a Range 14 one im down. I still have membership there for a little while and ill likely have membership at quinton as well.
  24. Haha for sure, if i can ever make it to one! Im in the deep deep souf now, which makes things worse as it seems like most meets are way North.
  25. Lookin for a quick answer. Havent gotten an answer after numerous emails. Was supposed to hear from president regarding the rules but i guess there are none and i never heard back. Steel plates allowed? Only at 200 like R14 orrrr is the 50yd line ok? Rifle only? Handguns too? Cant get an answrr and guy who gave me the tour had NO idea. Going now to put in application if i get an answer from them in person. If steel is a no go or only at 200 like range 14 then no point in joining there right now.
