  1. An update was posted to the DFW website. All they are doing is rebuilding the benches and berms. A big missed opportunity to upgrade the range to allow centerfire. Not sure how this work takes an entire quarter of a year. https://www.njfishandwildlife.com/news/2019/ranges_update.htm
  2. Looks like the shotgun range is still open then. I only went to the rifle range and saw the sign.
  3. Save the trip. Wouldn't been nice had they put signs up in advance but that's govt for you.
  4. Side-By-Side Firearms, Inc. 18 East Main Street (Side Entrance) Denville, New Jersey 07834 https://www.sidebysidefirearms.com 973-627-2848 $75 total (57 + NCIS).
  5. Thanks for the reply. I've already submitted for my PPPs to my local PD but not the SP015 and SP016 forms as I have not made the purchases yet. Can the forms be submitted to the PD after the FFL receives everything and I have the serial numbers? Also, if I'm understanding correctly, the approved form would come from the local PD and not NJSP?
  6. I'm looking into applying for the OGAM exception and have a few questions despite reading the sticky and a few other posts. I conveniently could not find any kind of instructions on the NJSP website on completing the forms or process. Thanks in advance. 1. Should forms SP015 and SP016 be sent to the local PD or directly to the NJSP? I have read different things and that the local police just forward the forms to NJSP which will obviously add additional lead time. 2. Is the original form with inked signature required to be submitted or is a copy acceptable? This is obviously not a problem with form SP015 since I would sign it myself but with SP016 that requires the FFL signature. If original is required, I would have to obtain the form physically from them vs them emailing me a copy and then submit the original. 3. How will I be notified if I was approved for the exemption? 4. If anyone who as applied for a OGAM exemption recently, please chime in on how long the turnaround time was.
  7. We used to have a 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5. It was a very unrefined vehicle and the engine droned loudly and excessively with the CVT when accelerating. The interior was very cheap with many hard plastics and materials. The non-turbo Subaru engines also produce less power than the majority of engines from other competitors in similar displacements. It all added to an uninspiring vehicle to drive and own. To its credit, the car was reliable and we never had any major issues with it. There was also a lot of room in the engine bay to work on basic maintenance. If you are considering a Forester, take a look at the Mazda CX-5. That is a far superior vehicle in everyway and drives like a sporting sedan. We dumped the Legacy for a CX-9 and no sooner.
  8. I'm looking to borrow an AR Armorer's Wrench. I don't need it immediately but maybe sometime in the spring. I can put down a security deposit if needed. I'm near the borders of Morris, Somerset, and Union counties. Thanks in advance.
  9. Folks, friendly reminder to dump stock and/or other securities before 31 December in order to claim the max capital loss deduction on your 2018 taxes.

  11. Just wondering if others here go out of the way not to patronize anti-2A companies. Other anti-2A companies that come to mind include REI, Yeti, Delta, and many others. I also do not buy from Target, Ben & Jerry's, Starbucks, Amazon, Whole Foods, etc for similar reasons.
  12. Reminded me of Kennesaw GA where every head of the household is required to maintain a firearm with ammunition. Miss the good ol' South.
  13. Just wondering if anyone has attempted to use dashcam video footage in NJ to fight a traffic citation in court? Is this permissible as evidence and under what circumstances? Any authenticity concerns with the court? Would be interested in hearing stories, experiences, lessons learned if any.
  14. I would advise you to stay clear of Kimber. Just do a search on "Kimber rust".
  15. Ruger SR45 and American are additional options. Also Kahr P45 and CW45.
  16. Back on topic? I don't think anyone has mentioned the FN FNS-9.

  18. After I asked him for the upper, he suddenly became super responsive and said he would have it done that week. I reluctantly agreed. Later when I call him to arrange a time to pickup, he tells me that the brake I wanted to use (YHM) was hardened steel and that he couldn't drill into in. Instead, he decided to directly spot weld it onto the barrel itself without so much as consulting me first to see if I would be ok with it. The weld, although on the bottom looks like hell. I was not at all pleased with the experience. Thanks, will look into them for the future. They are not far from me. Wish their transfer fees were lower though. Looking for a new FFL.
  19. Precision Firearms and Coatings in Edison, NJ. Good price for transfers if you can tolerate the service but would not recommend for any compliance or gunsmithing type work.
  20. OT but looks like the price has been raised. On their website, it says $30 Transfer Fee + $15 NICS
