  1. This is correct - fill out the "service form" on their website and send it in to them - you can also get steel factory goalpost ones installed for $20 - night sights are $57 Sig charges $50 on top of the cost of their sights for this service. Glock does it for free.
  2. Do you guys realize that the handgun purchase permitting scheme we use in this state (and others) is an old Jim Crow era law that existed in the south once blacks were able to buy firearms because the state couldn't stop them from purchasing but they wanted to hinder as much as possible. Really blew my mind when I read that one. Got the info off a NC website when doing my moving research but it makes total sense. Except in our state they are trying their hardest to keep all citizens from being armed or making it as inconvenient as possible, not just blacks.
  3. Thanks Ray yes i agree with you and 20% less in MSRP too of G43 vs Shield9. So G43 with MagGuts you get same capacity but you are paying 25% more than a Shield out of the box. I was thinking of getting a G43 with my Blue Label coupon this year but honestly not worth it as I own a 26, would rather get an MOS or a full sized 17.
  4. Since I turned 30 this year I'll agree with that. Lots of females love the pew pew life on IG now if they are in their early 20's
  5. Zeke and Ray ++++ to that 357's are cool to keep in your speedloaders for Instagram pics to grab broads attention but shooting Wise be like 38 +P all day

    All Glock?

Weird. I have 3 Glocks and love them but I have many other firearms from different manufacturers. Even on SigTalk plenty of Glock owners. Not as many haters as you'd think.
  7. This. IN MY OPINION If you want the single stack 9 for lighter weight and thinnest possible, a 9 Shield offers better capacity with a flush mag than a Glock 43. If you have a G43 use the MagGuts kit to get 7 rounds which would bring you up to the Shield. Grip length is what prints anyway if we are talking about everyday civilian carry (in theory in NJ obviously) - fun fact is that with empty flush magazines if talking about weight the G26 is within 1/2 oz of the 9 Shield.
  8. What brand did he get? I have a G19 and G26 and had a plug on the G26 (Glockmeister) but it fell out after a few rounds since the 26 doesn't have a lanyard hole to clip it in like the G19. I like the smoother magwell purpose of it but since it didn't work on my 26 both my Glocks are bare. My wife's G42 will be bare too.
  9. This. Trigger is very good out of the box on the XDM- Its not a PPQ but I don't see a need to change it - then again I also leave my Glock triggers stock.
  10. Agree with you Ray - on their semi-autos I will say that the polymer ones I do not like at all and have a horrendous record of reliability - I do also have a PT1911 stainless in addition to my 605 and both have been extremely nice and reliable knock on wood - although they are mostly "safe queens" and beauty pistols for me -
  11. Its a phenomenal snub nose J-frame for the price - I have one in stainless - basically you have Taurus, Ruger, and S&W, all progressively more expensive - No issues with it but I don't shoot it too much - 357 is pretty brutal out of a snubby but you'll be shooting 38's mostly anyway - Taurus has a sweet set of wooden Rosewood grips with a pinky rest which I bought for it for $30 - go for it, everyone needs a sweet snubbie. Its my only 357/38 for now, my wifes grandfather has a K-frame 6 shot Model 66? I think, that he is going to gift to me eventually and then I'll have a reason to buy ammo in higher quantities for the revolvers -
  12. I really love that XDM in Bi-Tone - Definitely going to handle one in store, the 45 3.8 would be what I'd be interested in, and with 4 additional magazines and 2 holsters promo wow -
  13. The plan is to work our current jobs from home temporarily (I can remote in on my computer at home to my work account and work from home so easily, we do it in bad weather etc) and put our employer in a rock and a hard place (we work at the same firm so hes not going to fire us for moving, we already have 2 employees relocated and working remotely, one in MD and one in NC) - long term we would find local employment down there and the hope is that god forbid we would need to, we would have some cash in the bank from selling our house up here in order to survive temporarily - We both work in the insurance profession so there is work down there but we've found that its really unrealistic to get a job down there without actually being there and able to have meetings, appointments etc in person with companies and HR people - Keep your fingers crossed wish us luck, 9 showings in 2 days, no offers yet but hopefully soon - No complaints from anyone on price but just no one interested enough yet, we have about 6 showings before the open house on Sunday too -
  14. Cary is also where all the Berners now lurk but yes I know the town well, it literally is all NJ/NY imports, I was at a bar there last year and everyone sounded like me LOL - Unfortunately they are too close to Durham and Chapel Hill where the other snowflakes live and its too crowded to have any space to shoot in your own backyard - We will likely end up in one of the southern suburbs of Raleigh - Zeke - his radio ad is www.robsellsnj.com - we sent in the email form and had an agent from his team call us 5 mins later to set up an appointment. Nick- thanks for the kind words yes I hope it goes and someone appreciates our land, that's where all the value is - a mile down the road from me a similar lot was bought for $480k on 6 months ago and now a million dollar huge custom home is going up on that lot, so I know at the end of the day the land has the value - I'd like for a young couple like us to fall in love with the "cozy house" since its not big, but understand its probably less likely. Things like having an attached 2 car garage and 2 acres of land with no one behind you and open woods, and being in a historic and quiet section of a large and diverse town and have some of the lower property taxes in the county don't matter to a lot of people, they are worried about finished basements for the rugrats and for you to do the $40k in bathrooms and kitchen upgrades for them so they can feel like they are on HGTV. If I can get through the next few weeks or however long it takes to get a deal closed without hearing "needs updates" or "open concept" I'll be a happy man.
  15. I love my G26 Gen4 and I have small hands - weighs as much as the Shield but packs more capacity - and G19 mag for backup is a plus (although we are talking theoretical carry for us non connected folk)
  16. I have 2 full baths but I hope the listing is accurate on Zillow if you found me - Red front door, we are on Washington Valley Rd with just under 2 acres - @Chris - we actually had a broker last year come look at it, life got in the way, etc - funny enough we actually called up the Rob Dekanski Remax firm who always advertises on 101.5 - I told my wife "hey this guy says on the radio if he can't sell it then he will buy it, and you can get out of your contract at anytime!" - Yeah I don't like that they are getting a hefty commish, but if they get us our asking price (which is more than fair considering location, and lot - we didn't want to overprice it and have it sitting), then I'd be happy - My in laws that moved last year to the OBX failed with 2 brokers (but I will admit they were way overpriced, they overimproved and bought at the height of market in 2006), but only took about 2 months once they did For Sale by Owner and dropped the price to a reasonable amount to sell -
  17. ^Enjoy it - its a beautiful pistol and you are making me have an excuse to get it and complete my 3 Musketeers with D'Artangnan! Question though - is there any cutouts to fit the 3rd mag in the factory case of the LE version? Something that always bothered me was only the Tactical w/ threaded barrel had the space in the case for everything to be neat - Not a big deal was just curious - Glad you enjoyed breaking her in! Beautiful pistol, and night sights are Meprolight and are excellent! (I have them on my Sig)
  18. Will do guys! I'm sure I'll be lurking a bit - Part of it is the cash factor - Jersey just sucks every dollar out of you. If we can get our house sold, even after realtor and moving expenses we can purchase a house for 65% of the cost and put the rest of the money left over in the bank or invest it - right now trying to keep a nest egg for emergencies or building money for our future is near impossible and we both make decent salaries. But yeah the other factor is freedom, and my dog is getting older, he just survived cancer twice and the winters and cold is rough on his joints, I'd rather see him happy in his senior years and give us a new beginning. Speaking of range trips, its so simple when I'm visiting my in-laws. There is a range about 30 minutes away, outdoor. You pay $10-15 and can shoot all day. They have targets in a vending machine. Stop at Walmart and grab some ammo and go (even those evil JHP's!) and don't sweat a thing. Really amazing. Local gun shop down told me last time go ahead buy all the AR style rifles you want to keep at your in-laws I could care less. They could give 2 shits about our stupid "assault weapon" bans. If I want to take something I know is illegal in my state home, its on me. I can smell the 30-rounders from here...
  19. ^^Understood and yeah I'm with you with opposite problem as I don't have big hands - So the 45ACP Glock's feel like Bricks in my hand while thank god for the Gen4 slimmer frame as it fits my hands perfect - and I throw the backstraps out because LOL at the thought of making the grip larger - My 1911 I am not able to hit mag release with my thumb, thankfully I'm a lefty anyway so I just use my middle finger - Every pistol purchase for me basically is about researching how small the grip can be or be made, Medium backstrap out of the box on my PPQ was actually fine (which I was worried about), but I put on the Small anyway. Sig P320 in 45 Compact came with the Small grip out of the box which I needed, that pistol would be too large with Medium grip in the 45 (which is a larger grip shell) You have large hand problems I have small hand problems LOL
  20. Yes and the pistol purchase permit system is an old standard from Jim Crow era which tried to keep blacks from purchasing pistols. And let me tell you what I'm sure even if you went through the process in 95% of the counties in NC you'd probably have a permit same day or within the week for the $5 fee, none of this 30+ day garbage (cough, NJSP, cough) Absolutely going with CCW. eliminates it completely. how it should be. And NC is also an open carry state if you had to do that. Nice to have the option. They are trying to go constitutional carry too, probably will take a couple years.
  21. The Aridus doesn't work for you? There is also another company (Tau Development Group) who makes a fix for this problem http://taudevgroup.com/1301/ - $15 and carries a warranty if it breaks you get a new one. I would go with the full coverage one personally. As long as one of the solutions fixes the issue, this is 100% the next long arm I am purchasing, and when I get out of NJ I can put the mag extension on it too and have 6 or 7+1 - You can get them from Arms Unlimited or Quantico Tactical, shipped to your FFL for $800-850, which is better pricing than I can find from any LGS - even Buds doesn't get under $900 on them.
  22. House went live on the MLS yesterday around lunch. Already had 2 showings and 2 more tonight, 1 scheduled for Saturday, and open house on Sunday. All good things so far. My wife and I are going for a few days to the in-laws (southern OBX of NC) and coming back on Wednesday. Will go do some shooting at the outdoor range down there and enjoy ourselves for a bit. Who knows, maybe we'll have the house sold by the time we get back. Then the real fun begins, packing up and finding and securing a house in Raleigh NC area which is where we are going to move. Worst comes to worst my parents house on the OBX is huge we could always shack up there for a big if needed, but that's a last resort as it wouldn't be easy to look at homes when we are 3 hours away at the beach. I keep telling myself its going to be pandemonium and hectic for the next couple months mostly but will all be worth it in the end. No more silly firearm restrictions or anxiety about transporting to the range. No more paying extra for neutered AR's. And I'll beat Krispy Kreme out of here just so I don't have to cry when they take away online ammunition purchases and take us down to 10 rounds like the other "sensible states" Reading this link makes me feel even more confident that this move is the right move for our family, with all the NY/NJ imports going down there, I am doing my part to keep NC a free state, as I fear that in 20 years it will start to look more like NJ from a government perspective. Wish us luck, and if anyone wants to buy my house (Martinsville section of Bridgewater Twp), let me know. http://www.ncrpa.org/faq/ownership.shtml
  23. This is why handling pistols is so personal as I've held both the XDS in 9 and 45 and thought the grip feel in the hand was absolutely horrendous, hard, blocky plastic and made a Glock 43 feel like a PPQ in the hand for me personally. PPS M2 also phenomenal ergonomic grip on a single stack 9 IMO
  24. Honestly the factory Tritium OEM night sights made by Meprolight not only give you dim light sight but go back to a traditional 3 dot system and are steel as opposed to plastic, and they are the best bang for the buck at $57 installed if you send Glock your slide. If you want to spend more than that, all the big brands at $80-150 offer tons of options for Glock -
