  1. definitely not a squib metal fatigue from not being forged properly. My bet is the harmonics on the barrel created a stress fracture that ruptured at the weakest point, which is the end, due to pressure dollars to donuts that when Henry cuts that barrel, there are pockets in it etc
  2. I don't think it was me, I don't think I've ever owned anything remington although I'm dying to get my hands on a 1903. I'm not familiar with easton fish & game
  3. mine here and like mine, this is the 6"barrel despite the description. https://www.classicfirearms.com/heritage-mfg-rr22999mb4-rough-rider/
  4. very underrated imho. I had read that screws come loose so I broke them down and tightened/checked everything and added blue loctite where appropriate. they are accurate, so far they've been reliable, nothing is loose and they are fun. efga? older without a safety is definitely a challenge but remember, these are cheap plinkers. If you want the real clone, uberti sells the cattlean in 22lr for almost 450 which is nuts compared to this. Also, the safety is barely noticeable on these unless really focused on it
  5. If close, you can shoot ours and try them out
  6. 89 shipped with code. smoking deal https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/lower-receivers/308-ar-m5-lower-receiver-sku100015985-71464-152439.aspx?sku=100015985&avad=avant&aid=35987&cm_mmc=affiliate-_-Itwine-_-Avantlink-_-Custom+Link&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=Avantlink&utm_content=NA&utm_campaign=Itwine
  7. No sir....never...lol....i paid 99 each
  8. O have two, one for each boy. they ate awesome! 1.5k or so, boys love them. 4 clicks...ask away?
  9. need to be careful with these. While need to be careful with these. While it's a smoking deal, the lpk is proprietary to this make and you have to buy it from them also it's not DPMS pattern and the ArmaLite pattern still has a lot fewer options. You are much better off finding a deal on Aero Precision upper upper lower receivers. In fact if you give me a day or two I can find a set if you are looking
  10. smoking deal for a great optic. very very clear glass...buddy on transit tactical has one of these and while I'm not a fan of 3x, it's quality more than compensates for the lack of power
  11. I keep a spare bolt, battery, cleaning kit and ear plugs on each rifle. a must really
  12. nothing wrong with this at all. After about 1k, use a brass brush 2x and make sure you unscrew it after insertion, do not back pull it
  13. no doubt but I think Stag stakes their keys and to be honest, I've never seen one personally fail. I know it can happen, has happened but even minimal staking is all that is needed and I believe stag does this. I'll bet if he swaps the bolts, keeps original carrier, we'll see it's a bolt issue. then he can send to me and I'll find out for sure as I just love to destroy shit..lol This year I'm picking on a recent acquisition to test just how tough the FN vs my colt socoms
  14. AR doesn't need to be cleaned as often as the mil standard applies. I too was raised to clean and lube generously upon use however, its not as critical as folklore suggests. Defintely clean it before 3k though. OP, was the rifle cleaned so we can also eliminate this as a issue?
  15. bolt issue look at alignment or replace the rings although that is awfully few rounds to have to do so. Also, look at the extractor for any chips or fouling inside that may affect it's lock up. do me a favor, just swap the bolt in the carriers and see if the short stroking stopped. I doubt its a key to be honest
  16. I don't see caliber used and he broke a cardinal rule in shooting animals poor dog, regardless of how you feel about the owner, rancher, etc....poor animal doesn't deserve to suffer a long death in the cold like that. Remember people, dogs have the mental and emotional cognitive development of a 3-6yr old child. think about that
  17. with all due respect, how many ranchers do you know? Each one I knew was skilled with a rifle 22lr is unethical for a dog sized animal, period. Can't believe this is even a discussion. Dogs legs were shot, both front and back and then torso. That's not shitty shooting and if it is, person doesn't belong behind the trigger
  18. I have to agree, I have never once clean the gas tube. They are self-cleaning to some degree but also bear in mind that they are cheap and disposable. Everyone should have spare gas tubes gas rings and cam pins on hand
  19. All good my friend and unfortunately, tone does not come through in a message board like this. If what I'm writing sounds harsh at times it's not
  20. I already discussed one of my coyote shots earlier but shooting a dog sized animal with a 22 at a hundred yards is unethical. Shooting with a pistol is even worse. And this guy was on a farm with livestock I doubt he's using a pistol he was most likely using a rifle. Either way nothing I have said do I believe to be wrong. You don't shoot a dog sized animal with a 22 at a hundred yards. I doubt that this is what happened there is more to this it and a moving dog running at 30 miles an hour how many shots did he shoot the even hit it five times? I just know there's more to this
