There are interstate reciprocity clauses that mandate the recognition of out of state drivers licenses in all states. I am not a lawyer, don’t remember what this is called…

I don’t see why this same standard cannot be applied in the case of LTC, or why we are not approaching it in this manner.

Especially since driving is only a privilege and not a right ...

  2. Saw this story this morning too, as it's locally relevant.  I don't think it's possible for the jet to have crashed in the area they reference w/o any civilians noticing.  Maybe it flew out over the ocean?  Either way, wouldn't ATC have had it on radar?  The military does not track their own aircraft?  Doesn't make any sense ... maybe a UFO took it?

Seems to me they have now specified exactly what is meant by substantially equivalent and if you didn't shoot an HCQ with holster draw (e.g., went to Shooters) then you have to do it again. To whit:

Substantially Equivalent Courses. An individual who completed a course of fire prior to the issuance of the CCARE Protocol is deemed to have satisfied N.J.S.A. 2C:58-4(g)(2) if and only if the prior course include each of the following:

    1. A minimum of 50 scored rounds per participant.

    2. Minimum passage score of 80% using an FBI type Q target.

    3. At least 10 rounds must be from the 15, 10, 7, 5, and 3 yard lines each. If fewer than 10 rounds were fired from those distances, the remaining rounds must have been fired from farther distances.

    4. The participant must demonstrate safe holstering and unholstering during the shooting course, which must include safely drawing the weapon from a secured holster before firing at each of the required distances and re- holstering after completing the round.

    5. The participant must demonstrate proficient and safe reloading during the shooting course.

No substantially similar courses completed after the CCARE Protocol is issued will be accepted.

FWIW this is essentially what is required by South Carolina.

Models have Lee project to reach top wind speed of 205 mph.. It will be the highest reading of any storm ever in the Atlantic

The NHC shows it staying below 137 knots.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 120 mph (195 km/h) with higher
gusts. Lee is a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some strengthening is forecast over the next
day or so, followed by gradual weakening.

    ...

As mentioned above, fluctuations in strength are likely in the
short term due to eyewall replacement cycles, but there is an
opportunity for some strengthening during that time since the
system is expected to remain over very warm waters and in
relatively low wind shear conditions. Beyond a couple of days,
however, progressively cooler waters and a notable increase in
shear should cause Lee to gradually weaken. Although the weakening
is forecast later in the week, Lee is expected to significantly
increase in size and hazards will extend well away from the center
of the storm by the end of the forecast period.

I am simply explaining how deadly force can be used to stop a suicide , period.

The example you gave has nothing to do with that, the shooters actions were to stop something else.

Knocking someone out with bat to the head is considered in some places deadly physical force

I believe that would be considered deadly force in ALL places.

I’ve been really frustrated with the short term weather forecasts.

I tend to ignore forecasts and instead monitor the radar.  You can still have storms pop up, but it's been the most accurate way for me to get an idea of what's going to happen in the next 30 mins or so.

  7. The Second Amendment:

    Quote

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

So there are 2 distinct groups called out here (the comma matters):

    1. A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state,
    2. the right of the people to keep and bear arms

The training laws/rules in question have nothing to do with group 1, they are all about group 2 as they pertain to what requirements "the people" have to adhere to in order to bear arms. This has nothing to do with militias

Then the final clause comes in: "shall not be infringed".  For our purposes in discussing the NJ CWP requirements:

"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" is all that matters.

By this logic no one should be building their own AR, which to me is patently ridiculous.

That's not at all what I got out of the video.

I don't remember the details, but there was a guy who ran into difficulty because he had "you're fucked" etched on the inside of his dust cover

I've been a Sirius subscriber since 2006.  I have it in all vehicles and use the app when at home or in the office.  I initially bought it to hear Howard Stern, but have not been a daily listener since he went off the deep end.  These days, I mostly listen to the comedy stations and "my music."

Similar story, got it in 2006 for Howard, now i can't stand him.

I no longer listen to traditional broadcast radio.  I find Sirius great for tons of music with no commercials,  comedy radio on road trips, and sports. I mostly listen to the ESPN college radio channel since I dumped pro sports.

when is the scotus going to step in.

That's not how it works, it must be brought to them.

Generally there has to be an action/case brought by some party, and there are very specific circumstances whereby something can just go direct to SCOTUS (original jurisdiction).  But either way, it needs to be initiated outside SCOTUS, they will never act "on their own".
