NJ Handgun Carry Permit Application Experience
YankeeSC replied to CJack's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
They don't care about justifying it, they just want to make it as much of a nuisance as possible. They do not want you to carry. You know how long that's going to take? I have a non-criminal case before Somerset county and they keep changing judges and kicking the can down the road, going on 18 months and no new date yet ... -

This keeps coming up, but in practical terms how's that supposed to work? They don't get your application processed in time ... then what? -
No gun signs starting to popup!

In reality how would that actually "prohibit" such future executive orders? -

There's a municipality in Monmouth that doesn't have its own PD? -
Of course not! No one would dare apply that to voting rights ...

Does this mean an unexecuted P2P? or any P2P previously obtained regardless of how long ago? -

Oddly enough, here in SC they have legal backing, but fortunately you don't see very many of them. Whole Foods comes to mind plus a few random places. -

Meanwhile in New Hampshire...
YankeeSC replied to CMJeepster's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/nh-gun-laws/ Well of course they do, why wouldn't they? The address on your NH non-resident CCW would show your NJ address. Regarding PA and NH, see: https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/nh-gun-laws/#recRestricted PA does not accept NH non-resident ccw. -
New Pending Carry Legislation
YankeeSC replied to SJG's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Wish we saw more of that re: gun free zones or prohibited carry. Now that's a common sense firearms law I could get behind: you prohibit it, you're liable for death and damages. -
Supreme Court Takes First 2A Case in a Decade
YankeeSC replied to Bklynracer's topic in National Gun Law Discussion
Maybe y'all are just overthinking this whole thing, and NJ doesn't yet have a clue about what it's doing and is scrambling to react, so the "official" advice is simply (and literally) all over the place until they can get it all sorted out and on the same page across all agencies. -

IIRC, that only applies to retired LEO, or has that changed? -
I don't think you read the guidance.
-
You always "could" carry, so that hasn't changed. What has changed is that states can no longer require proof of need to issue. In NJ you still have to go through the process. Not at all. https://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcj/agguide/transporting-firearms_guide.pdf

Concealed Carry Insurance
YankeeSC replied to GFarra31's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
IIRC, at the moment it's specifically prohibited by NJ. -
Normal everyday clothing. Pants are a size larger to accommodate the IWB holster. For belts, I use a Bullbelt Distressed American Bison Steel Core or a Black Crossbreed Executive Gun Belt. See also:
