  1. It is political now. Dont use the word "kill "but "stop"instead and you'll be fine. Ill be happy to admit to my being wrong if I was, but as you could see by other posters Im not. Cops dont aim for legs unless that all thats visible. Its fine with me :be the "good guy with a gun"
  2. Lay down and die? I just cannot see myself carry all that stuff around. Its like wearing a helmet in your car or having a fire extinguisher strapped to your back at all times. But whatever makes you feel more comfortable.
  3. Cops are shooting to stop the treat not by aiming at their legs. Your theory only applies when you confront someone that has some weapon other than a firearm AND is at some distance. While we celebrate that pretty lady, either she missed her intended target or made a judgement mistake. Or she might be Clint Eastwood in disguise. In real emergency the sights on your gun are useless and one that says he tries to stop the threat by hurting rather than killing someone is full of BS Shooting to stop encompasses all sort of shooting . Maybe you are an expert but I doubt it
  4. Carrying in National Parks has been legal by a long while now. Just dont carry inside the buildings
  5. I tend to believe you dont understand the immediate need or urgency of using a gun. Not that Im an expert either. You shoot the gun out as the last resort. If your life or someone's else life is TRURLY in danger and there is no option but shooting to kill. This lady was lucky but things could have turned ugly and she easily could have been killed herself. What happens if you try to just stop somebody by injuring and accidentally you kill him ? " I just tried to stop him" doesn't work well in court. I admit at times just producing the weapon might stop someone in his track but shooting to hurt is no way to go for me. JMOHO
  6. She certainly did her job well. Way to go lady. But no first aid kit in my outing with a gun.I have no intention of shooting anyone. If I do I would want to be fatal.
  7. Maybe this is the first case for someone to be charged with hi cap magazine. The crook will probably sue the shooter and win in court. NJ makes me puke. https://www.nj.com/bergen/2019/01/car-burglary-victim-charged-with-shooting-fleeing-suspect-in-the-back.html
  8. Sunds all Chinese to me. Im not all that familiar with these type of gun. I own 3 handguns and Im a good shooter but thats the extent of it. Congrats on your work. Looks top notch.
  9. The suicides started in Romania. Hmmmm! I made the mistake to watch it with no blindfold. Another 2 hours of my life destroyed. On my scale of 0-10 where nothing is a ten or a one, I rate this one as a 6.
  10. Sure! https://www.nj.com/news/2018/12/naked-man-tries-to-light-himself-on-fire-at-nj-gas-station.html
  11. Ill give it a chance. I hope not to waste another 60 min of my life as I did with a movie recommended by another forum member
  12. It is not the point. Most likely 10 rounds are good enough for self defense. By the same reasoning the government should put a speed limiter on your car. 65 MPH is fast enough in NJ
  13. Good going lady ! Once upon the time I was scared of guns and I would not touch one. Someone in my distant family felt the same way. Recently I took a unloaded gun and disassembled it in front of the guy. I asked which part is threat to him; he couldn't answer. I pointed to a knife nextt us and asked him if he was afraid of it. On the end he agreed that is not the knife or the gun that is dangerous when used properly but the person handling it. A bit embarrassing to say that my daughter took a trip to Washington to the anti gun protest. Yet when her husband is away on business trip she is concerned of being in the house only with 2 small children. Now she says she only wanted the AR 15 off the average people's hands. Getting people to be familiar with guns helps our cause. Most people in NJ do not know that majority of the states allow ordinary people to carry guns. The media does not help. They make one , having guns at home, look like he is a bad person. Simply put guns are not popular in NJ. Spreading the pro 2Nd ideas helps people look at gun laws from a different perspective
  14. The least you could have done for your gun friends is to take all your mags to the police department and ask for a receipt. One at one time. Just to make their life a bit more complicated. It looks like most gun owners in NJ would be under British rule if were borned back then. Congrats for your compliance with the law.
  15. Nappen is doing the best he can for himself. I saw no advice given by him that one cannot read directly as the law is written. Like I said before he has no interest in any pro 2Nd law, pass. It is your money but only a fool would buy his book. What are most people going to do when 6 rounds mag will be standard and all others considered high cap? They are going to ask where they can mail their 10 round magazine, adds will pop up about storing them, Nappen will write another book and ANJRPC will tell you to comply. Behehe, behehe, yep boss one round max you said? Will do.
  16. To comply or not with the new law ? By now you already made a decision. If I have had listen to all rules and regulation in the Socialist country I escaped from I would have spent the next 25 years under communists rule. The majority wanted to follow the law and went to clap when the dictator came to visit. Not me. I don't listen to stupid rules or laws. Vast majority of them make sense but some are idiotic. Such is the new gun /magazine law. I would like to find out an article in the future that says "less than 1% of the gun owners complied" I admire those in NY state that dint comply with the, then new demands regarding their guns. Sure it easy for me to bark: I live in a free state. However , soon I'll visit family in NJ and bring my 14 round mag with hollow point bullets. It is legal to transport it such but for sure a cop would give me a headache and I will be forced to call useless Nappen who will gauge me. It wont happen. My only answer to a cop will be my name and DOB. "No sir there is nothing else we can talk about and you have no permission to check my car" Somehow related to marijuana (which I don't smoke) The government spent millions to enforce it but they would have to put too many souls in jail. Even NJ thinks a change in law is needed
  17. Regarding printing: think of it as you are only allowed to open carry. If a cop finds out you have a gun under your shirt he would consider it concealed regardless if it prints or not .In occasions I carry my big beretta FS92 Inox. If you pay attention you might see Im carrying something but wont be sure its a cell phone or other gadget. Fl law does not say anything about printing and I can imagine even other states consider it printing when you CLEARLY could see what UNDOUBTEDLY is a gun. If a cop would have to ask"do you have a gun in there?" thats not printing. In Fl is ok if you accidentally make your gun visible temporary while you take your coat off or your shirt lifts up briefly I never worry about it
  18. Nappen is useless to the law abiding citizen. He would not like any gun laws to be laxed . The stricter the law the more money he makes. I would not buy any of his books or read his advise. A few years back I applied for a CCW in Jersey. The State Police approved me but judge Pereksta denied my case and wanted exact dates when "immediate need"occured. I asked Nappen if he can represent me and he told me his fees start at 8K What a crook. He is not your friend but pretends to be. I understand he needs to make a living but not by exorbitant fees. Nobody is going to ask you about your old mag. Nobody is going to call you.
  19. Behehe, behehe, I have to listen what the wolf says. Just put your darn thing in the attic . Or in the car if you take them out of state. What are the odds being stopped and your car searched? Sometime in life you have t take chances.
  20. Here is another great case why we like a gun by the bedside And not everything happens in Fl https://www.foxnews.com/us/south-carolina-woman-kills-escaped-jail-inmate-who-kicked-down-her-door-sheriff-says
  21. This whole thing brings in my mind the image of sheep led to slaughter house by a pig. They go behehe and complain a bit but keep following the herd. The problem is there are no real leaders to help your cause. There are guys like Alexander who says" there will be repercussions" but nothing really changes. The state needs a real challenge and only NRA can do it. Get yourself a leader who will deal with NRA as a group and tell the association there won't be any payed dues unless there is a fight. Get ALL the NJ gun law supporters and show NRA you mean business. If they will be convinced there is enough support for gun rights in NJ they will fight for you. Bitching here won't help your cause.
