  1. Hey, I thought we were supposed to be carrying in NJ by June? What's the deal? Where'd those guys go? LOL
  2. Sure, you can buy a 1911 for under $1000. You can also spend some money and buy a real 1911.
  3. Do not assume we will be carrying in NJ any time within a decade. If you want to carry a gun, move to a different state. This is the path of least resistance.
  4. If passed, expect this bill to go the way of the immigration ban. An injunction will be issued by a federal judge, and this will be litigated in court for months or years.
  5. Contacting your representative is futile. It's a meaningless act that is designed merely to appease the people by leading them to believe they did something constructive. Everybody on the hill is laughing at us.
  6. I tend to agree with you. I'll go further and posit that Trump is really just a front-man with no knowledge or interest in policy. I think Bannon is the one making the decisions and pulling the strings, and that's frightening.
  7. The bill could very well sit there for months, years, or never even be reviewed. It must first be reviewed by the subcommittee, and then it goes back up to the committee for denial or approval. If approved, it goes to the House for debate, and hopefully, a vote. If it passes in the House, it then goes through the Senate committee/subcommittee/debate/vote process. Obviously, this is a lengthy process, and given the number of bills that have been introduced, and the number of big issues the GOP wants to tackle, I'd argue those here who believe we'll be carrying in NJ inside of six months are living in a dream world.
  8. Got rid of my TV years ago. I don't miss it. Distracts a person from things that actually matter.
  9. You really think NJ, NY, MD, and other states are just going to magically roll over and say, "Oh I guess the 2A really means that our people can carry!" Please. Optimism is a good thing, but don't be naive. There's an army of attorneys out there ready to fight tooth and nail against this thing.. Even if they lose and we win, it will take months or years to get there.
  10. That thing is far too ugly to be called a 1911. I wouldn't own one for free.
  11. The first big hurdle is getting the bill through the House judiciary committee. The vast majority of bills introduced die in committee without ever hitting the floor, simply because the committee chair decides there are other bills that are more important to review. Beyond that, if passed, a federal judge will grant an injunction while certain states debate this endlessly in court. In other words, don't hold your breath.
  12. He's just angry I won't pay him $10/hour to mow my lawn, because the Mexican does a better job than he would, lol.
  13. Legal, and something to be avoided, unless you want to be hounded endlessly.
  14. You do realize it'll take many months or even years for that decision to finally arrive, right? It'll be at least 6 months before the bill even gets passed (if it gets passed at all), and then the state challenges will come. A judge will grant an injunction. This will then be debated endlessly in court, until it ends up in the SCOTUS. Assuming the SCOTUS doesn't then send it back down to a lower court because it doesn't feel like debating this (something it often does with 2A cases), then a Trump-appointed SCOTUS would most likely rule in favor of the 2A. Most likely. This process is akin to threading a needle from a thousand miles away. I'm all in favor of optimism, but we also need to be realistic here. A bill like this will not pass quickly and/or easily. Don't forget, the Democrats will filibuster the shit out of this in the Senate. They only removed the filibuster for judicial appointments; they can and will filibuster the CCW reciprocity bill.
  15. This is why the girlfriend and I are planning on moving out of this god forsaken hellhole within the next 12 months. I suggest you gentlemen do the same.
