  1. I'm a big fan of my ESS Crossbow Suppressor kit. It looks like Heritage Guild is a dealer, but I've never been there. Admittedly, I got mine on Amazon and figured if they didn't fit I'd just send them back. Now that I think about it, I'm surprised I did that, since finding sunglasses that fit me is always a pain. Guess I got lucky. I also have a pair of Smith Optics Aegis Arcs as a backup that seem nice as well. Got those for "free" with my Vortex Sparc AR RDS. That article was what convinced me to buy only ballistic Mil spec rated shooting glasses. They're really not expensive when you think about how valuable your eyes are.
  2. That was rough. I wouldn't expect any pistol to shoot either, although if it was Military Arms Channel doing this test, he'd say that the results were unacceptable and will switch to a new carry piece immediately.
  3. Something tells me it will still feel like a brick in my hand, so no go for me. If they would just move the palm swell up an inch or so it might not be so bad...
  4. But...how do you improve "perfection"?
  5. This would be a good start, but a constitutional amendment would be better (although, I highly doubt you'd have the support for that level). The next anti-2A congress or administration could overturn this entirely too easily, or challenge it in court.
  6. I'm trying to get out, but I have a feeling that I won't have anything lined up until after the election. Depending on when those new gun laws Murphy plans to sign take effect (and if they include confiscation), I may need to look into some options for storage, since I'm not about to give up hundreds of dollars of good 15 round handgun magazines. The AR mags on the other hand...I don't want to say that they can have 'em, but I'll be buying new ones after moving anyway. In fact, there's a good chance that I'll buy/build a new, non-neutered AR to commemorate the wonderful occasion! The people of this state are gonna need weed to keep from going crazy with Murphy's nonsense. With regards to being legal though, when was the last time you filled out Form 4473? I'll take my guns over weed any day, thank you very much.
  7. I used to carry one of my Kershaw Leeks or a Buck Tempest, but carrying a knife at my previous job was seriously frowned upon. Due to that, I've been carrying a Leatherman Squirt P4 on my keychain for years. I don't think anyone would bat an eye at my current job though, so I may start carrying a dedicated blade again. I recently saw a Zero Tolerance 0450 which got me eye, and will probably wait to find one on sale. Sadly I can't find my Kershaw Zing with the scalloped blade. I was meaning to sharpen that one as well. I hope it's in my car, since the last time I remember having it I was fishing.
  8. The details are available for the "upgrade" program. https://www.sigsauer.com/support/p320-voluntary-upgrade-program/ New trigger, sear and striker, as well as a mechanical disconnector at no cost to the owner. Unfortunately, you need to send the gun in to Sig (although, they're paying shipping both ways) so P320 owners might be without their firearms for a while. There's a good chance that I'll send in my P320 compact ASAP just to get it done, especially since I envisioned this gun as my carry gun when I get around to getting my FL and/or UT carry permits (or leave this hell hole for good, God willing). Edit: I just registered, and according to Sig, it will be a few weeks before they start accepting pistols for this. They won't even be sending emails with shipping labels until they're tooled up and ready to start doing the work.
  9. Shit happens. That's why. As for the second part, my VP9 is stamped with "Warning Refer to Operator's Manual" on the bottom of the trigger guard. At least they had the wherewithal to use the word "operator" so it makes me feel like a special ops badass.
  10. WTF? Maybe I'll leave the P320 at home the next time I go to the range. Hopefully my VP9 is better than that. Now I'm starting to get angry with Sig. How exactly did this gun pass the drop tests if you can make it go off with a gunsmith's hammer?
  11. https://www.sigsauer.com/press-releases/sig-sauer-issues-voluntary-upgrade-p320-pistol/ That didn't take long. Tabbed safety triggers for all?
  12. I wonder if anyone has done the same test on other striker 9's? I would love to see competitors tested in the same way. Maybe Sig will be releasing tabbed safety triggers? They apparently designed them, but doesn't seem they put them on many guns.
  13. I'll probably be there on Wednesday as well.
  14. Are you having issues after simply removing the slide, or after removing the FCU (and takedown lever)? My P320C had a very tight takedown lever initially. After some breaking in it's at a much better level. I've had some issues similar to yours if the takedown lever wasn't in the proper position when I went to put the slide back on. Make sure it's all the way pushed in, and rotated clockwise as far as it will go before putting the slide back on.
  15. I'd like to know what kind of practice ammo they're using. The last I read, their duty ammo worked just fine, but the practice ammo was the issue. If I remember, and feel bold enough, maybe I'll ask them at Safecon (NJSP is supposed to have a booth).
  16. I'm looking forward to this! Already signed up.
  17. Shame to hear about the slow service from Sig on the optic. I hope it's perfect when it comes back. I like my P320C more and more each time I shoot it, and a red dot would be fun to play around with. Does anyone know if Sig sells the slide assembly with the red dot cutout, and if so, how much? I took a quick look online and seems you can have some places mill your original slide, but I'd like to have both. Maybe @remixer would know?
  18. I've got a TLR-2G on my VP9. I haven't had the need to use it in a defensive situation, but I've put a number of rounds through the pistol without issue.
  19. It's been how many months and I still don't see quality 9mm ammo even close to this price on a regular basis. So happy I got in on this!
  20. I love how these events allow people to break a bunch of laws that would normally get any of us locked up for years without question. Screw over the people without criminal intent, but give the shitbags a day of amnesty and pay them to do it! If you get pulled over on your way to one of these, and officer finds out you have an "assault weapon" or hand gun in your car, are they really going to let you go because you claim to be going to a buyback? Going to the churches they have set up is not an exemption under the law. I would imagine that most cops and prosecutors would love to get an "assault weapon" conviction on their resumes.
  21. I'm sure most here have let a permit or two expire. I got three permits back in November and I only used two. I would go as far as to say that most people probably apply for more permits than they think they will need, just in case.
  22. Depends on what you need. For AR accessories, HGW has a nice selection. Lower parts kits, they've usually got a few in stock. Individual parts...I needed a roll pin for my trigger guard a few months back. Wound up going online. I don't blame them, of course. Stocking every little part for an AR takes money and space, and individual parts are probably not something that will turn over quickly. It certainly isn't profitable for them.
  23. Wow! If I didn't have my Vortex I'd get that! I got in on some discounted gift cards and was planning on a case of ammo, but now I need to think about it. The only non USA made part on my AR (to my knowledge) is my Vortex red dot, and while I don't "need" it, a 100% US AR build does have a nice ring to it.
  24. I've been pretty happy with my Vortex Sparc AR. I only have a few hundred rounds through my AR with it on, but it seems solid so far. It isn't an Aimpoint, EOTech or Trijicon, but it's great for the price. Palmetto State Armory has had them as low as $139.99 as a daily deal in the past. It uses a single AAA battery which is good and bad. The good is you can find a AAA battery anywhere (and I have the Magpul MOE grip with two additional AAA batteries in it). The bad is the battery life isn't anywhere near as long as some of the other options on the market (but those button cells aren't as easy to find as AAAs are). As for Holosun, I've read good things about Holosun (and Sig...Holosun makes Sig's optics) but haven't handled them.
