  1. I went to one in New Egypt probably a month or so ago. Well worth the $10.
  2. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/07/christie_orders_shutdown_of_non-essetial_nj_govern.html#incart_2box_nj-homepage-featured https://www.njportal.com/NJSP/NicsVerification/ Hope no one had their sights set on a new addition to the family today.
  3. There are ways to make sparklers do what you want. Just takes a little red neck ingenuity.
  4. Damn. I feel sorry for this person's family and the other people at the range who had to see that. Why do I get the feeling that we'll be seeing a renewed push for that ridiculous anti-suicide gun range bill from a few months ago.
  5. I was at R14 today sighting in the AR and putting a few rounds through my P320. Perfect day to sweat at the range instead of sitting at work! Will be busy with other stuff so no range this weekend for me, but have fun!
  6. Stack-able with: M5U for $10 off $100 & FS M5V for $20 off $200 & FS M5W for $30 off $300 & FS That two stage looks mighty tempting.
  7. How do you expect the NRA to magically make things better in this state when "we" keep on allowing gun grabbing leftist assholes to be elected each election cycle? If it's true that there are over 1 million gun owners in NJ, that's a pretty big voting bloc that needs to take action. The NRA can only do so much. On another note, i got something in the mail the other day and they're doing ez pay life for $600. I might take them up on that.
  8. They're not factory direct from Glock, but I've seen pinned G17 mags at a few shops in central NJ. Just need to find a shop that does compliance work like Howell Gun Works or Monmouth Arms.
  9. I was poking around over at the event list at US Law Shield and saw that Nappen and another attorney are doing an event at the Golden Nugget on June 10. https://texaslawshield.secure.force.com/pmtx/evt__QuickEvent?id=a2z3100000SRv5B Seems to be sponsored by ANJRPC, but I don't recall seeing anything in the last few newsletters about it. I went to a US Law Shield seminar with Nappen about two weeks ago and was well worth the $10, but I want a bit more.
  10. I don't believe that the shop has any influence on the background check time. That's all on the state police AFAIK.
  11. You could try contacting them to see if you can change your order. If I was a 2xl, I'd snag the "Gore-Tex" pants for $30. Knowing what Gore-Tex costs, I'd guess that $30 doesn't even pay for the little logo, let alone the waterproof membrane.
  12. My guess is that if you ordered 3, they'll ship 4.
  13. According to HK's Facebook post on this, you should buy 2 magazines and you will be given the third when your order processes. They did a similar deal on black Friday. Unfortunately, I emailed them to find out whether I should add 2 or 3 to my cart for the deal, but they didn't get back to me in time. You'd think that they would simply add a sentence about it... For whatever reason, I didn't think to check their FB page then, but I wound up getting some mags from Prepper Gun Shop for around the same price though, so it worked out. On a related note, Sig also has magazines on sale for 20% off this weekend (except for P320 mags, of course ).
  14. So did you buy something or is that permit still sitting around begging you to use it?
  15. I got my shirt a good three weeks before I got my check. I got the check last week though, so I'm good.
  16. I've never been asked whether I have any guns in the vehicle, but I wonder if responding with "I don't have anything illegal in the vehicle" would fly? You're sort of evading the question, and I'm sure some officers would catch it, but as long as you're within an exemption, you're not lying. Your next step would obviously be to politely decline any requests to search you or your vehicle. The biggest thing IMO is to drive within the laws so you don't get pulled over in the first place. Then, don't give the officer probable cause, i.e. keep the inside of your car clean, and make sure your guns are cased (but not in "gun cases") or, ideally, in the trunk where s/he cannot see them.
  17. Welcome to the forums, and my condolences on your future move to this gun-hating state. I would highly recommend getting Attorney Evan Nappen's book and read/memorize it. NJ doesn't mess around when it comes to ruining your life if you make one little mistake with your guns. As far as I am aware, every NJ state "gun crime" is a felony level crime with a minimum mandatory 3-5 years (even simple possession), so beware.
  18. Be careful what you wish for. I'm sure that if they did go to that type of card, we'd be forced to renew (and be fingerprinted) every year or two and be forced to wait even longer than we already do.
  19. Judging by the crowd and the service I got last time, I wouldn't doubt that Cheyanne Mountain is a good place to shop for a shotgun, especially for hunting purposes. The guy I dealt with wasn't rude or anything like that, he just didn't seem too knowledgeable about 9mm pistols. His only input when I asked about the VP9 was something to the effect of "that's a really nice gun." He couldn't even tell me why the one model (with night sights) cost more than the other. He also didn't seem too enthused about putting other striker 9s in my hands like other shops. Sale was lost when he realized they were sold out of the model I wanted and would have to come back in a week or so. With all of that said, I'd have no hesitation to shop for hunting guns at Cheyanne Mountain. I'd certainly shop there before going to Dick's (unless I already knew what I wanted and Dick's had the exact model at a great price, and even then I'd think twice about it).
  20. Largest selections near me (northern ocean county) are probably Howell Gun Works and Gargen State Shooting Center. The service I've gotten at HGW has been great...my first pistol was from HGW. GSSC has been good as well, but I've not bought a firearm from them yet. Monmouth Arms has been my go-to for my last few additions. Steve doesn't have the inventory of HGW or GSSC, but the prices tend to be a little better. He tends to keep his inventory updated on his website, so I'd recommend checking that or shooting him an email if you're looking for something specific. I wasn't impressed with the service when I was there last, but Cheyenne Mountain also has a very large selection. Maybe it was because I was the only person under 50 and not talking about hunting at the gun counter?
  21. Nice. Do these ever get cancelled if they don't get enough attendees? Looks like there's one in New Egypt on Tuesday, which is only about 35 minutes from work, but they've got 136 seats left. I'd hate to drive out that way after work to find out it's been cancelled.
  22. Impressive and maddening at the same time. Just next door in Jackson, they take their sweet time. It took me 3 months for my change of address and 3 permits, and I'm convinced it would have taken longer had I not written a letter to the Chief.
