    Tavor x95

I don't have a Tavor, but I'm a fan of bullpups. I like the idea of a full sized barrel in a compact package. Most of us don't go on recon/combat missions, so IMO the compact package makes sense for suburban environments.
  2. Why are you 'stockpiling'? How often do you shoot?
  3. Then why waste the mental energy on a "what if" that has next to zero chance of coming to fruition? Trying to come up with the most absurd 'what if' that the NJ AG could 'potentially' charge someone with is a massive time waster...
  4. Has there EVER been a magazine limit prosecution for someone shooting a 450 Bushmaster because "it can also take .223/5.56"? Same for the Sig with 40/.357sig and 9mm? Ever? The more we fret about the boogeyman, the more power we give him. There are plenty of obstacles to tackle without inventing imaginary ones...
  5. FSS Armory in Pine Brook had several level guns on the wall when I was there last week. If you're close you should take a look...
  6. One in the gun and one extra. I've been to too many action shooting matches where something unexpected happens and mag has to be swapped out. Not a big deal at the range when having fun, but could be a big deal in real life...
  7. Same. When I'm carrying I bring an extra mag and leave it in the lockbox under my seat. I'd leave an empty magazine in the glove box, but my wife and kids borrow my vehicle on occasion, so I'd hate for them to get jammed up for transporting deadly hollow point, dum-dum ammo...
  8. Agree. Hopefully the dominoes will keep falling...
  9. Yeah, that's how I read it as well, so I would disclose that I was carrying if there was a car accident where an officer show up and gets my info.
  10. There's no ambiguity. A carry permit covers all pistols you own. There were exceptions for older permits that were processed through the courts and had a court order attached, but the courts have removed themselves from the process, so that's no longer an issue.
  11. If you're thinking ahead then maybe you should also be considering a different pistol. Trying to organize how you function while carrying based on a P229 that you've never carried can be like fitting a square peg into a round hole. I carry at appendix IWB and I've tried several different brands, but I ended up with a generic kydex holster that I added a wing to. I didn't find a significant difference from brand to brand other than cost. I like the retention of kydex over the comfort of leather.
  12. I don't know anyone who 'regularly' gets pulled over, so it may be a while before we get a lot of people sharing their stories. I'm over 50, and I tend to drive like an old lady on local roads, so I haven't been pulled over in in a town for more than 20 years. I lead-foot it a bit on the highway, but even then I usually just go with the flow, so it's been a little while. State Trooper pulled me over on the way to the shore a couple of years ago, but he just gave me a warning. The trooper was very chill, so I don't think he would have made a big deal about the carry permit...but who knows.
  13. Have you ever had your blood lead level tested? I would presume you're result would be a little higher than 'normal' range.
  14. I'm not surprised. The ban had NOTHING to do with the environment. It was all about optics and politics. Murphy wanted to show that he was 'strong on environmental issues' so he did something that was a big news event, but ultimately zero (or NEGATIVE) impact on the actual cause he was purportedly championing. Same with EVERY piece of gun legislation he supports.
  15. Your Glock will be fine. 1911's and pimped-out race guns based on 1911's warn against it. Modern striker-fired pistols are designed better. The only potential 'risk' I can see if the extra/regular manipulation you're doing with the gun and a live round. if your hands are compromised to the point where you can't load a round in the gun without a tool, i'd say there's a chance something will go wrong with the way you're manually loading. How about just carrying an extra (full) magazine in the car that you can use to top off the gun with?
  16. That's a great price. Is it a store or something that's run out of a home?
  17. How often do you shoot? Do you reload your own ammo? Short answer is yes, you're going too far in your lead mitigation efforts. With that said, they're not causing you any harm, so if they give you peace of mind, rock on...
  18. I always figured gang-bangers and hillbillies were the primary audience for Glock switches.
  19. Is there a particular reason people who want hollow-point ammo don't want to use Speer Gold Dot or Hornady Critical Duty/Defense? Yes, I get that gun guys want to use 'muh special brand because ballistics/fps, etc, etc', but with all of the absurd hoops in NJ with 2A stuff, it seems like a no-brainer to go with rounds that have already been 'recognized' by the state.
  20. Of all the potential 'what if' things to worry about, I'd say this one is as far to the bottom of the list as possible.
  21. Indeed. Particularly if you're out and about for the day you've been walking in and out of retail stores. It could be very easy to forget. Fortunately, you're the only one who knows you have it...
  22. Sounds like your guy is full of shit too. PTC's are turning over within 30 days in my town.
