  1. Again respectfully, the Byrna will do nothing to a motivated attacker other than piss him off, IF you're able to deploy it. It's a low-power paintball gun. Under perfect conditions the gas might distract someone, but ultimately it will not disable them. The C02 system is prone to failure if the gun sits unused for any lenght of time (like many airsoft pistols) so that's another failure point you need to worry about.
  2. Respectfully, that thing isn't going to protect you and/or your wife from much. All you're going ot do is piss criminals off. And how do you plan to 'carry' it. The thing looks huge...
  3. I downloaded an app that takes passport photos on my phone. I uploaded the file the app saved. No issues getting my permit.
  4. Someone PLEASE buy this so I don't have to!!!!!
  5. Nobody's forcing you to do anything, so i'm not sure how you're getting fleeced. If you don't want to follow the absurd process to get a carry permit right now then don't do it. Wait until NJ follows the rest of the sane states and goes to Constitutional carry. Nobody will give a shit if you do or if you don't, so you're not compelled to act. IF you want to get a carry permit then you need to have a residence in NJ, DL, qual, FID, fingerprints, references, etc, etc. All of those things cost money. Right, ranges in NJ should open their doors and loose money because some random guy who calls himself 'xXxplosive' on an internet forum cries like a 3rd grader about 'muh gun groups should represent me for free'.
  6. Indeed, but this is a good discussion, and what you haven't seen could probably fill a library (just kidding!!) When I did my requal (the subject of this thread) the instructor handed us a completed 182 and blank 182a and advised to hand BOTH completed forms in to our local PD. My local firearms clerk thanked me when I handed it in and advised that she was expecting to receive them 'from everyone'.
  7. The statute is in the post above yours (looks like it was posted at the same time). If you don't have it submitted you'll be out of compliance. Probably just a warning if you every get arrested and don't have it on file, but you'll definitely need it when you renew.
  8. I think they got rid of that requirement.
  9. Agree. So the fight would need to continue. Step by step.
  10. But that's the fight. Just getting to the point where we can have a carry permit is just one small victory. The anti gun crowd are spending a lot of time and money trying to fight this part, but Bruen makes it permanent. The battles over magazine restrictions, fees, etc are continuing, but they will all lead to the fight for Constitutional Carry. Might be some qual or administrative stuff tied to it, but thats the fight...
  11. I'll her credit for the fact that she obviously doesn't have any 'people' doing her messaging for her. The stupidity she's spewing is entirely her own, so there's no manager, agent, etc to pass the buck to. It will be interesting to see if she keeps digging and puts out another video...
  12. The change happened in September. The form you have for your qual is no longer sufficient. Shooters is a PHENOMENAL organization and they will let you do the qual again for free so you can have get the updated SP182 form and be in compliance with the new rules. Instead of emailing them I'd recommend calling anc scheduling your free re-qual.
  13. Unfortunately things have changed since then. In order to be in compliance with the law you'll need to requalify and submit the latest form SP182 to your local PD. Since you did your initial qualification with Shooters they'll do the the re-qual for free.
  14. I've been using this one for years. https://shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php You can change variables, print charts and graphs, and get any info you need.
  15. You're correct. The process is much simpler/more direct now that it's online...but it's still a pain in the ass.
  16. I would have done the same. I've purchased 'blem' and used guns, but they were priced accordingly and advertised as such. If I'm paying full retail (which I rarely do) then I expect a brand new, unblemished product.
  17. Fun challenge, isn't it? FFL never received money (except the transfer fee and NICS fee from buyer) so they're not giving buyer anything. Seller got his cash and no longer has the gun, so he'll tell buyer to take a hike. Moral of the story is that NJ gun laws suck. Chances of this scenario taking place are slim. If buyer has purchase permit in hand it means he recently passed the application process, so NICS shouldnt be a challenge. I only highlighted it because of your 'gotta love the internet' comment.
  18. Disagree. I've been paid for the gun, and it's been legally transferred away from me, so it's no longer my problem.
  19. How is he wrong? Buyer and seller meet at FFL. Seller fills out paperwork transferring firearm to FFL. Buyer fills out NICS. Buyer gives money to seller. They say goodbye. Seller is not involved in the NICS process for buyer. If things go tits-up with the NICS check things would get interesting...
  20. From 3 yards to 15 yards. I just put my empty magazine on the table in front of me. IMO dropping to the floor or putting in a mag holder is not practical/necessary.
  21. Indeed. If you're a regular civilian and you've got to throw on Mevel IV's, I think 'concealed' carry would be a secondary consideration...
  22. Indeed. Unfortunately that's not a legal option for you, so you either have to leave it home, or be as stealthy as possible when you're locking it up.
  23. Yup. You have 5 rounds in each mag, so there's a reload at each distance. When you're done with your 10 you reload and wait for everyone else to be done.
