I think it unlikely that this was a terrorist attack. Regardless, is it totally impossible? No.

What's more difficult? Hijacking four airliners and flying them into U.S. properties, or disabling a container ship's engine at a critical moment?

A "Black Swan Event" - General Flynn Raises Questions About Baltimore Bridge Collapse | ZeroHedge

There should have been a port pilot on board working the navigation. I'll wait to hear what he/she has to say.

And that we do hear from the pilot.

It's been reported now that there were two harbor pilots on board and 21 crewmen.

The article mentions that there were no cars on the bridge when it collapsed.   Actually, divers found two people trapped in their car.  They were recovered Tuesday afternoon.

I find it interesting that the state is reporting approximately 33,400 permit-to carry applications since Bruen and Anthony, on his GFH show two weeks ago, stated that he has qualified just over 30,000 applicants on his range.  I think the state is under-reporting....again.  Especially when youj consider all of the other ranges that were doing qualifications.  "Transparency" is a foreign concept to Murphy and crew.

I won’t get over it until the NRA does some general housecleaning.

The CNJFO folks sent out a mailer this week regarding these fee hikes and a form letter, and an email mailing list to contact representatives in Trenton to voice our disappointment over another new set of fees. I’ve seen nothing in the mail from the NRA’s arm in NJ, the ANJRPC.

ANJRPC is usually pretty good about letting us know what is going on in Trenton.  I get a same day e-mails about some bad legislation or what is going on behind the scenes to make the bad legislation "less tolerable", for example, the negotiating that took place with respect to the revised qualification course.  "Less tolerable" is in quotes because, imo, it isn't necessary to have a qualification standard.  You have a duty to train and practice............on your own.

Looks like SC finally got around to passing Constitutional carry (sort of).

I'ts the worst "Constitutional Carry" bill I've ever read.  The list of "prohibited places" reads like the New York state list.  The most bizarre piece of the bill is if you are "Constitutional Carrying" and you are convicted of a crime, you will have additional prison time added to whatever the original conviction was for.  However, if you have a concealed carry permit instead, you are exempt from that extra prison time.  Mr. Kirk talks about that toward the end of the video.

There are a lot of gun owners in this state. They have to get out there and vote in the local elections. People dismiss the local elections because they think they're not important. Local politicians are the ones who set the state policies. We have to get more republicans in state offices to keep things in check. Until people wise up, we're screwed. Even the last Gov race was a piss poor turn out.

Therein lies the problem.  When Anthony opens his radio show, he mentions there are "......over 1 million gun owners" in NJ.  Until people open their eyes and look at the big picture (the 2nd Amendment) and vote accordingly, we will continue to get the same results we have now.  With those numbers, NJ should be at least a purple state instead of deep blue.

just raise each fee to $10,000 and be done with it. it will take years for the courts to rule against you and in the meantime you will have achieved your goal of disarming the non-criminals. let's see if "gun violence" goes down in new jersey then...

Nah, then Murphy will claim that any new "gun violence" is being created by "illegal" guns which are not subject to any taxes or fees.

  7. Moorestown Mall, Burlington County.  There is a small sign at each mall entrance where, listed under "Prohibited" it is states no firearms.  I left the mall through Boscov's Department store.  In double checking all of the entrances/exits, Boscov's is NOT posted.

So you can shop at Boscov's but stay out of the mall if you're carrying.

Not true.  If solid state radios are stored in an EMP proof container or grounded cage, they absolutely will survive.  That's the whole point of a Faraday cage, it soaks up the energy and sends it to ground.

I did not know that.  Most of my rigs are vaccuum tube driven for that reason.  Thanks for the info!

If there is an EMP event, but this particular phone is saved because you put it in a special box, what are you hoping it will connect to after the event?

The cell towers are not going to be working after an EMP event. Even if they are, what about the computers that will be needed to activate the service?

A ham radio might make some sense as that can be used without any other infrastructure apart from the other party's radio.

An amateur radio setup will work in an EMP-impacted environment only if the radio uses vaccuum tubes.  If a solid state radio is within range of the EMP blast/fallout, the internals will be fried.  Vaccuum tubes are immune to EMP.

Mr. Stu is right about the "pay as you go" phones.  Even if you protect the phone, computers make the connection.  They will likely be fried anyway.

I agree with your sentiment, but there’s no way we outvote nearly a million more Democrats than Republicans, who think that delaying gun sales is a good thing, even though they would prefer to halt them altogether.

I think the messaging matters. Republicans need to find a way to connect with them.  Kim G. failed at that during her gubernatorial run for governor.

Not all democrats are gun haters.  My daughter is a gun owner and likes to shoot.....a lot..........and she's a democrat.

I'm toying with the idea of building a legitimate 25 yd. outdoor shooting range. I have a business plan in mind but not completely solidified yet.   I have a lot of construction management experience including site work so I'm comfortable with the construction part.  I'm going to take the NRA range design/construction course as a first step toward design.

It would be a relatively simple 25 yd handgun range that can accommodate 8-10 people shooting at one time with a small classroom/restroom building.  Probably not open to the public but available for rent to NRA/other instructors to use for courses plus my own CCW courses.

I would be purchasing some very rural land, possible backing up to state land or marshland to keep the noise away from everyone and to make sure I had huge unpopulated area behind the berm.  The townships I would be building in are very gun friendly so I don't anticipate any political opposition. I would be surprised if everyone on the planning board wasn't a gun owner.

Local land use ordinances don't say anything about ranges.  There is general language about public health and safety, noise at the property line, environmental hazards, etc. that would apply. Nothing specifically about shooting ranges being a prohibited use.

What unusual hurdles would need to be overcome to get approval for this kind of project?  I realize this is a very broad question.  My planing board experience is with buildings, parking lots, other and other "normal" construction projects.  I imagine that shooting ranges would come with additional scrutiny.  If anyone here is on a planning board or has some professional knowledge of the process, I would love to know your thoughts on getting approval for a shooting range.  Since most of NJ is so anti-gun, I'm also wondering if NJ has any specific rules to make this difficult.

Wow, that idea sounds great!  I live in Pinelands myself.  Mrs. Peel is correct, contact an environmental firm before you purchase your property.  In my area,  I can think of three construction projects that were stopped by rare species of animals that lived on the land of the proposed projects.

IMO, you would be better off south of Hammonton because the environmental headaches would be fewer.

    Best of luck to you!

The take-away from this interaction is prior that to June 22, 2022, anyone carrying a firearm and didn't supply active or retired law enforcement credentials was immediately arrested.  NJ police officers now have to think a bit before bringing out the handcuffs.  I hope they can handle that.  Police officers in other states have been doing this for years.

Mums the word. And now, back to our regularly scheduled Italian villa.

Murphy won’t discuss the details of Oliver’s mysterious death (savejersey.com)

I commented over a week ago that I thought it was alcohol poisoning.  The fact that Murphy refuses to discuss this, to me, means that what happened doesn't fit the narrative they want.  So I'm thinking, like several others on here, it's jabs for the Fauci Fungus.

The contrast between the two photos in  the article tells the story.

I had two friends that passed away from alcohol poisoning.  Their facial features changed radically in just a few years.  Once the liver shuts down,  there is very little that medical folks can do.

If you want to get technical, #2 says we need to comply with #1.  #1 says that on or BEFORE July 1st the superintendent shall establish training requirements.  As of July 1st, the new training requirements had not been made.  The old training requirements where in effect on July 1st.  The same ones we all qualified under.  So technically we all qualified under the requirements that were in effect on July 1st per #1, which should satisfy #2.    Of course, you will need you will have to go to court to argue this, paying a lawyer significantly more than what it would cost to do your updated qual, and as had been mentioned before, there is no guarantee a judge would care that you found a loophole and could find you guilty anyway.

I would go and qualify with whatever gun is easiest and be done with it.  The new law also says one permit is good for all guns you own.

That's true, however, they also state on the form that you list all of the firearms intend to carry, by serial number.  Heck, they already have that information in my case.
