OP sent me this picture of the rifle for sale after 3 weeks of not replying to my requests.

    forsale.jpg

He also mentioned he has a car for sale on facebook, took a screenshot of that for anyone interested.  Strangely enough, it has 386,xxx miles on it, despite the ad being from November 2017...

Oh my God...don't even get me started on Facebook marketplace. I try and buy gym equipment there from time to time....

Selling: My sweaty, smelly, used bench and rusted barbell set, missing one of the 25lb plates.

Asking price: $10 less than brand new...

  2. RIP FTF Sales in NJ :(

Up for sale is my just like new AR build in a strange chambering that's just gonna fire the same Lake City ammo that all over the other ARs out there do.

It's got only 386 rounds through it. Yes, that number seems oddly specific but I swear it's factual. I totally promise, I keep exact round counts on all my guns because that's what normal people do, right?

I bought this thing back during the panic of Obama's first term, and made my decision mostly on panic buying and the various recommendations of mall-ninjas on the internet.

OK, so now for the price. I know you can order rifle kits to put together 4-5 rifles these days and arm your entire family, for the price I'm asking for just this one, so let me explain. See although I loudly tout my love of free market capitalism in the Politics section, I believe that the basic laws of supply and demand don't apply to me, so I'm hoping you don't do any research and pay what I paid ten years ago for this thing.

Now, let me painstakingly list in detail every single accessory that I slapped on this thing while it sat in the safe over the last ten years:

    • Lastname Tactical Gunworks Customs trigger kit, it has a 2.63855 pound pull and although I haven't got a lot of time on it, people on the internet assure me it is a superior choice.
    • Southern State Armory SOPMOD CQC SEAL Team 6 CQB MOLLE KEYMOD PICATINNY handguard, this puppy looks super sweet, it weighs only ten pounds but you can hang another ten pounds of lights and lasers off of it.
    • Heinz Frankfurter Schnitzel specialty 24-48x140mm red dot Holo sight scope. Although I've only taken this thing to the 25yard line at my local indoor range, I figured the $1400 for this scope was a better investment than several hours learning the fundamentals of rifle shooting.
    • Custom Baked on Arma-Kote paint job in a super obnoxious color scheme and featuring my favorite comic book character's logo. I don't really care if it's your style or not, I paid big money for this and expect you to as well.
    • A whole host of custom grips, stocks, lights and lasers which the instructor at the class I took assured me are what the LAPD SWAT team uses, and he even heard from a friend of a friend, who knew a guy that was "over there" in the Middle East (but can't really talk about it much, duh) and during his time with his secret unit they used this very same foregrip as well.
    • I've also got a bunch of extra grips, magazines and stocks which I will throw in or sell separately, for the low low price of $5 less than they would cost brand new from that website that has free shipping. You'll have to spend your day driving halfway across the state to pickup, but that's totally reasonable for the price I'm asking.

Here's a couple pictures I took with my flip phone, in the dark, during an earthquake. The gun is blurry in all of them but somehow my big toe is always in good focus.

OK so now that we've got that out of the way, I'm asking the super low price of only $3,750, cash only, FTF must have COE, FID, DL and a time machine.

    Edit: Price drop, $3,735

EDIT: price drop, $3,720 come on guys this is a steal!

EDIT: Ok, FINAL PRICE DROP $3,7000 FIRM.

  3. Anyone have a 7.62x39 AR? Seeing stupid great deals on uppers for the last few months, and figured I want to pull the trigger on it. x39 would be nice as I don't have to stock a new caliber. Just looking for opinions on performance and such.

  4. Yep.

Remember how many states passed various abortion limiting laws between 08-2016? Various laws in various states requiring ultrasound, heartbeat recordings, etc. Remember several states passed laws limiting welfare or requiring drug testing? Judges refused to marry gays.

And the Democrat controlled house/Senate/pres would swoop in and shut them down with emergency injuctions in only WEEKS.

Yet here we are, millions of us drowning without a lifeline on the coasts. Worried about laws that make us felons overnight with no hope in sight.

I hunt in Canada twice a year with a group of retired Canadian military guys.  Nobody is allowed to carry handguns except LEO and military.  According to the RCMP in order to carry for protection in the woods:

"In general, the only firearms allowed for wilderness protection are non-restricted rifles and shotguns. The following individuals, provided they are Canadian residents and have a licence that allows them to possess restricted firearms, may be authorized to carry a handgun or restricted long gun for wilderness protection:

    • licensed professional trappers, and
    • individuals who need protection from wild animals while working at their lawful occupation, most often in a remote wilderness location."

I would recommend mailing your handgun from the last CONUS state you will be traveling through prior to entering Canada to yourself at a location in Alaska and doing the reverse for the return trip.

He never said it was legal or not.

He just said that they do.

If a hillbilly (tree) carries a gun (falls) in the forest and no one is around, does he get arrested (make a sound)?

Maybe that was tongue in cheek, but has anyone ever seen a government-developed IT system that worked even remotely well?  Look at Obamacare enrollment or NJMVC.  The system you describe would take 12 years to build, cost a few billion$$$ and would still not work correctly.  My son could develop it in 1/2 day for a pizza and the cost of GoDaddy website registration, but get gov't involved and there would be too many hands in the cookie jar for it to ever happen.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree. A startup could have a beta version up and running in a week, maybe be ready for release in a month on a shoestring budget. Database checking, serial and tokencode authentication, etc. Are all very simple compared to what most mobile apps currently do. And yes a govt version would be a costly and unreliable disaster.

The only obstacles are not practical ones, rather they are political ones.

  7. Yes, I know. I know the AWB is a feel good law at best, and an underhanded attempt at a gun ban at worst.

That's not what I am saying though, lol.

    My question is this.

Some company manufactures an M1 Carbine and etches it "WW2 Small rifle" as the model (that's just my generic example name). Said example firearm has a ten round magazine, only one evil features besides detachable magazine, etc. Person who lives in NJ buys it, and says "if they want it come get it"

This is what everyone already does with their AR-15s that pass the test and don't say "Colt AR-15" on the side.

So therefore, my question is, why do we all have XM15s and AR556 and WASR and PAPs and aren't scared, yet the M1-but-not-called-M1 is a no go?

  8. Yeah GRIZ, I absolutely agree.

I guess my point was, at this point, if someone were to just say "WW2 Small Rifle" and say "come get it" could the state actually even manage to enforce the ban on it, could that actually even hold up in court. There are so many AR/AK/HK/etc. Clones of every variety not "substantially identical" yet with the M1 the law is supposedly said to be enforced so literally in a way that it certainly is not with any other rifle platform.

  9. I am genuinely curious as to how the M1 pattern but stamped "WW2 Small  Rifle" or whatever, and as semi auto, with no "evil features" and a 10 round magazine would be illegal because banned by name. But an AR-15 with "XM-15" and no evil features and a ten round magazine, is not illegal, due to not being substantially identical.

I understand logic is not a strong point of NJ laws but could this really, actually hold up in court? Wouldn't they have to come seize tens of thousands of ARs if that was the case?

Is the real basis for illegality that the M1 can very easily be made into a select fire? And even if so, it doesn't take too much to make an AR/AK pattern full auto. Not endorsing or encouraging any dumbass to go make machine guns anywhere in the US without proper ATF approval of course.

  10. Imagine an app that you log into, click "buyer" and submit your name, DOB, SSN, etc. It goes to the NICS database, comes back with pass/fail, then generates you a, say, 12 digit PIN. Within 4/8/12/24/whatever hours, you give this pin to the other person, they log into their app, click "seller" punch in the pin you gave them, and confirm you are not an escapee from the mental hospital. Shake hands, exchange guns and money, and say have a nice day.

Completely anonymous, neither buyer nor seller need to exchange any info. Completely secure, and ensures compliance that you are not selling a firearm to a prohibited person. Allows private, NICS checked, person to person sales.

The only reason such a modern, convenient, common sense system does not exist is because someone does not want it to.

EVERY Law should apply to ALL!

Including the Special Class NJ LEO's

THEN we will have some support for the 2A!

Yeah I don't see why cops need to carry strange, unusual and inherently dangerous weapons of war. We don't need that in our communities. Police should be limited to the same safe magazine limits as us, and also their rifles and shotguns should comply with all of our common sense gun safety laws. This can easily be done and they can even have a six month grace period to modify, dispose of, or transfer out of state any such firearms and magazines. Also they should not be carrying dangerous hollow point ammunition as it is illegal to do so in the Garden State.

So by this meme you are indicating that the police and military are enemies of the CITIZENS of this nation?

I just want to be sure I understand.

Lol the average cop would gladly bust your ass here in NJ over a folding stock or 11 round magazine or whatever else such nonsense. They wouldn't even think twice. They wouldn't give a crap. It's not personal, they wouldn't care at all. Ruining your life over some bull crap would just be a regular Tuesday to them. They've got bills to pay and a pension to collect.
