  1. I'm fairly certain that all the questions asked have been addressed in this thread including the piece on relatives. I am also certain that it is ok.
  2. Just wanted to provide an update of where I am so far: Submitted my paperwork to the West Orange PD on 7/19 Got fingerprinted on 7/25 in Staten Island (No NJ appointments) PD sent letters to references within the same week. Money Order has been cashed since checking today(9/8). I am assuming that that means it has made it to the courts but I am not sure. Does anyone else have any insight into how Essex County has been handling permits?
  3. Wow, they are really doubling down on their stupidity. So my tax dollars are paying for this BS.
  4. That is normal, I use SGammo.com they will prompt you to provide your FPID along with your driver's license and it will remain with them on file for seamless purchasing and they usually have a good turn around time.
  5. Precisely, I think we should be more discerning with our attempts to establish greater clarity. The first priority right now is to stack ammo before the law goes into effect. So instead of asking if they will still ship, place an order and find out. Once that window closes its a whole new ball game. While I don't think the new law should bar online retailers from shipping to us since we create a detailed electronic record of the transaction when we order online anyway, I do know that this law will have a chilling effect on online orders.
  6. That disclaimer was absolutely there on day one. I signed up for the qualifications with the understanding that things might change because the disclaimer is the first thing you read at the top of the page. I also noted the differences in the quals across different ranges and decided to go with GFH over the RTSP quals for my own reasons. I also read the actual state law which explains what satisfies the qualification requirement: "(b) Each applicant shall demonstrate a thorough familiarity with the safe handling and use of handguns by indicating in the space provided therefor on the application form, and on any sworn attachments thereto, any relevant information. Thorough familiarity with the safe handling and use of handguns shall be evidenced by: 1. Completion of a firearms training course substantially equivalent to the firearms training approved by the Police Training Commission as described by N.J.S.A. 2C:39-6j; 2. Submission of an applicant's most recent handgun qualification scores utilizing the handgun(s) he or she intends to carry as evidenced by test firings administered by a certified firearms instructor of a police academy, a certified firearms instructor of the National Rifle Association, or any other recognized certified firearms instructor; or 3. Passage of any test in this State's laws governing the use of force administered by a certified instructor of a police academy, a certified instructor of the National Rifle Association, or any other recognized certified instructor." To me, the above text leaves room for variation as long as the above items are satisfied as a result. Those of us pushing for uniformity or further clarity in the absence of that from the state, might just force the state to answer your quarry to the chagrin of us all. For now, just chill and let those of us who are applying now be your test case. Wait a few months and then apply when things settle. In the meantime do your own research and decide your next move based on the best available information. That will require that you thoroughly read the information that has been made available. If you feel that the risk isn't worth it then wait. At this point almost everything is conjecture because the state has not communicated anything outside of the AG's statement and what is actually contained on the NJSP website: https://nj.gov/njsp/firearms/forms.shtml.
  7. The bill states that following under the amendments section: " This act shall take effect 1[immediately] on the first day of the seventh month next following the date of enactment, except the Attorney General may take such anticipatory administrative action in advance as shall be necessary for the implementation of this act1." Is this replacing "immediately" with the underlined text or is it the other way around?
  8. This doesn't appear to be reflected on the NJSP website. Does this mean that people who qualified prior to this must re-qualify?
  9. So are these laws yet or are they awaiting governor's signature?
  10. You would need to already own the gun that you intend to carry.
  11. I've started the application Where do we find our municipal code?

  13. WIth the 11.3, did you need to pin the muzzle device in order to satisfy the OAL requirement?
  14. So I recently picked up a lower. Not sure what I wanted to build with it but I did take note of how it was recorded on the 4473. For line 16 it was listed as other and line 27 was recorded as receiver. Am I able to build an other if the receiver was recording on the 4473 in this fashion or does line 27 need to also state other?
  15. Yea, I got excited when I saw that Speer Lawman was back in stock but then I saw the price and decided to wait until prices go back to normal. Does anyone know how long it took for prices to settle the last time there was an ammo shortage like this? I'm of course talking about after this whole covid19 issue is behind us.
