  1. I'm told hollow point ammunition is a no-go in NJ. Sorting through my existing ammo (I'm in PA for now)... Some of the match ammo I have for rifles (Black Hills Ammunition 5.56x45mm NATO 77 Grain Sierra MatchKing Hollow Point) is labeled "open tip match" or OTM. Is this okay or not? Its effect on soft tissue is pretty poor which is why it's not used for hunting, but maybe NJ has a different opinion. I also have some PMC ammo that's labeled "green tip-LAP", where LAP is light armor penetrating (PMC X-TAC 5.56MM NATO 62GR LAP). This one I'm pretty sure will be illegal so I may burn it up before I move. Anything else to watch out for with ammo that might not be obvious?
  2. This is a great idea which I should have thought of myself. I'll give them a call on Monday and share their response here. If I can get a straight answer though that PWS brake looks pretty nice, too.
  3. https://core15rifles.com/core15-muzzle-brake.html I'm having a hard time telling if a muzzle device is a brake or a flash hider. Visually speaking this one looks like other flash hiders I've seen. The product description says nothing about flash though. Thoughts on this one?
  4. Thanks Zeke. On the topic of banned by name, is my PS90 good with 10-round magazines? As far as I can tell the only feature it has is the flash hider. The stock is not collapsible and there is no pistol grip, bayo lug, etc.
  5. I'm new to the forum, and soon to be new to NJ when I move in a couple months. I own a few AR-style rifles, one of which was bought as a complete rifle and the others which were built on completed lower receivers (not 80%). My plan at the moment is to remove enough of the so-called evil features that it passes muster by NJ law. I'm thinking that I will keep the pistol grip as my 1 feature, and then swap the stock for a fixed version and replace my flash hiders with muzzle brakes that are pinned to the barrel. My first question is - is it legal to "build" AR rifles in NJ? By this I mean assembling them from parts on a lower receiver that has a serial number. Can I modify my CORE 15 rifle so it's compliant, or is there some weird law where the rifle from the manufacturer had/has "assault weapon" features and therefore can never be made compliant? Thanks for any help. Despite the firearms nonsense I'm looking forward to my move to NJ.
