  1. If you are willing take that 'chance' at day 91 - you are a better man than I am - because the GOV has more resources, money and time than you do - and while you may 'win' your time and pain to do so might not be worth the effort. Again being NJ, or anywhere - I would not want to be incarcerated and have to face the financial and emotional expenditure - just because some paragraph says 90days that no one is going to pay attention to. My question to you is - why aren't you then just carrying now? The 2a is your carry permit - right? ( I am being sarcastic ) I know you are not that foolish, but hey you never know what some will do.
  2. And then when you do - you will most likely get arrested - the government will not adhere to timeframes of automatic 'approval' If he does and he is stopped, how to he establish proof? This is NJ - let's not lose sight of that fact. Carry here will NEVER be like it is in free states that pay attention to their citizens rights.
  3. Again you can technically get the 'permit' - but you cannot exercise your rights. You might not even be able to carry on a sidewalk - as they might have clearance exclusions zones etc. This will of course get shot down at some point - but how long and how painful. You cannot change the mindset of the liberal states - with one ruling, it is a long process and will take years to sort out That being said, this is a fight worth going after - and the more folks that get the permit and are denied their rights - makes it more likely to get overruled etc.
  4. I recall my first match at Shongum...nervous as hell....but it was sooooo much fun. There was a guy on here, forget his name, moved to NC ..big coffee drinker etc. Tall white hair shot a Glock.... saw Maksim out... Pizza Bob, Krdshrk etc...and others.... was a lot of fun.
  5. Ironically - the entire genesis of this site, in so much as I recall was centered around competition and USPSA/IDPA etc. Not that any of *that* is ever talked about anymore
  6. Well, I do not note that, I saw it from day one....stop calling yourself dumb..wtf?
  7. Actually it's a disclaimer BEFORE they take your money and it's called caveat emptor.... And there is no obscurity in that statement at all. Everything that has been presented by many parties, has been to wait and see...yet there are those that do not want to - so there is a disclaimer provided. YET, many will bitch and moan IF, there are changes and there quals, are not correct....whose fault is that then?
  8. Opinion, only - I would never ride around with a 'loaded' long gun in my car, in NJ - even in rural Sussex Co. Ymmv
  9. That's is why CCW in NJ, will not be as easy as everyone might make it seem
  10. This will in *time* all get sorted out...but for the liberal states, it will still take plenty of time to do so. And that is why words matter as well as intentions, elections and staying vigilant. Like in NJ, yeah technically you may get the license and be able to do nothing with it. You are not going to ever change the liberal states, until you change the mindset of the citizens and the politicians.....
  11. Not many know what a pyrrhic victory is, I am sure you do....
  12. Who is going to make it that expensive? The State? Sure - but who is also to blame for that? Would it not be great, if that was enacted and that the 'trainers' charged a 'reasonable' amount for 15hrs of instruction - to get folks certified? Now I am not saying it has to be pro-bono - but does it have to be hyper inflated? Just something to ponder. Say your time is worth $ 85.00 per hour - that is $ 1,275.00 total - now if you can make the in-person training a small group say six people - that's around 212.50 - not cheap by a long shot - but would you then charge $ 85.00 per hour per person? It will be interesting to see what the 'trainers' come up with as well.
  13. I was going to ignore this - as it is a pointless discussion - but suffice it to say, I am far from status quo, yet I am a realist as to what can happen, what cannot happen in the short term and what needs to continue to be fought. I also rely on experts in certain areas that provide guidance and counsel in matters such as this. Please, *please* share with us your bona fides in Constitutional Law, or even common law that makes a solid case for Constitutional Carry - other than your OMO - or what you believe and want.
  14. I know a retired NYPD guy that cant hit anything with his J Frame Smith - and claims he cant, lol - dunno, I hit all my targets at 15yds with mine - YMMV -
  15. Not to be rude - your opinion, @EdF, my opinion does not matter one iota -
  16. Let's be realistic here - there will be place limitations, as it is in many other jurisdictions that have had CCW way longer than NJ - LOL Also, let's focus on just getting the ball rolloing and people with the CCW - and then wporry and fight for locations etc. As well as the reciprocity talk - that is another fight - that will come in time
  17. Does it specifically state that these are the ONLY approved certification avenues? Not trying to be a douche, but there is a LOT of opinion, innuendo, guesses, 'I think' - comments that may or may not be true. We are all in a rush to get 'approved' and there seems to be a lack of definitive methodology to achieve that goal. Me I'll wait to see what shakes out....YMMV
  18. So you are saying gunforhire is wrong....in his offering? I have shot from and carried in a holster...as well as many hours of dry fire from retention etc.
