  1. Two questions - one I know the answer too - but want to ask anyway: 1) Carry Ammo - HP's Verboten? a) Would it make sense then to carry similar ammo to say your local PD or NJSP? 2) Is NJ a DUTY TO INFORM State?
  2. MODS WE NEED A CUMULATIVE STICKY - there are too many threads, too much information - someone needs to separate the wheat from the chaff and start a sticky !
  3. Hi ! - we understand that you do not want to go through this process, you think this process is BS, you want unrestricted carry as per the USCONN 2A - and assume that is what they meant. We get it - however, the rhetoric about it muddies the waters in the thread - we are all guilty of it - but, you have to let go of that and find peace that this is the way it is - FOR NOW.
  4. I do not know - haven't looked that hard into it - but to me it seems to be any P2P and FID before this legislation. Not that I plan on pulling any more permits - aaaaaaaannnnnnd - I must have said that a few times in the past - lol - so we will see the next round Two more years of this silliness.... sheesh.... If what has been offered up in the text of the legislation is the correct wording - I would think so.
  5. This is the total of what it says not just that snippet: In order to obtain a permit to purchase a handgun or a firearms purchaser identification card, the applicant shall demonstrate that, within four years prior to the date of the application, the applicant satisfactorily completed a course of instruction approved by the superintendent in the lawful and safe handling and storage of firearms. The applicant shall be required to demonstrate completion of a course of instruction only once prior to obtaining either a firearms purchaser identification card or the applicant’s first permit to purchase a handgun. The applicant shall not be required to demonstrate completion of a course of instruction in order to obtain any subsequent permit to purchase a handgun 1[or a firearms purchaser identification card]1 , to replace an existing firearms purchaser identification card, or to renew a firearms purchaser identification card. An applicant who is a law enforcement officer who has satisfied the requirements of subsection j. of N.J.S.2C:39-6, a retired law enforcement officer who has satisfied the requirements of subsection l. of N.J.S.2C:39-6, or a veteran who was honorably discharged as a member of the United States Armed Forces or National Guard who received substantially equivalent training shall not be required to complete the course of instruction required pursuant to the provisions of this subsection. A person who obtained a permit to purchase a handgun or a firearms purchaser identification card prior to the effective date of P.L. , c. (C. ) (pending before the Legislature as this bill) shall not be required to complete a course of instruction pursuant to this subsection. See the section that I emboldened above -
  6. Really? Do you have the link where that is - ? Sorry not being lazy but there is so much all over the place right now - we need a good sticky !!! LOL Yeah - only what they want - and my wife changed my mind while in NJ. We are in a really safe area for 29 years, but are 800yds off the NYS line - on 400+acres of state land that straddle both sides - and our neighborhood borders that acreage. We walk the neighborhood and woods a lot - the back side borders the state land - and just up in NYC they are dropping illegals off in Pine Island NY and they are roaming around aimlessly to a certain degree, from what I have been told. I know those woods as I have hunted them - you get dragged in their, or someone gets with you in there - no one is finding you, you are on your own - maybe some of your bones if it goes bad after all is said and done. So being we are here for two more years, work, family, waiting on something to be built - why not?
  7. What about N.J.A.C. 13:54-2.4(B) ? So then it begs the question - do I have a Certified Firearms Instructor Certify that I understand safe handling and forego live fire quals and roll the dice? Do i submit my 2012 cert for the NRA Basic Pistol Course - as well as the Home Firearms Safety Course - that I took thinking the laws for 'training' were going to change back then....
  8. Truth - but for now - it seems you need live fire qualification.
  9. Vernon - No idea - but it does not say that in the Admin Code - maybe a misinterpretation
  10. My local PD - has indicated the following: - They have dozens of applications - They are being very accommodating to provide information and help people - They are stating that there is no live fire quals only showing safe handling (I thing they are wrong) and someone signing off on that - They are actively processing them as fast as they can We will see when I get mine dropped off.
  11. Mods @Krdshrk @Mrs. Peel- if this is redundant or not the right place please kill it or move it Hi All - There are many threads in reference to experiences, do this, do that, need this, need that etc. and I do not see any cohesive sticky as to points, potential procedure etc. So I am looking for some help to see if I have this all down correctly and I did speak to my local PD, that I will update in another thread (experiences) - if you see something that is incorrect or a show stopper please let me know. Step 1 - DOC SP642 Rev 6/22 - I have this form and it is filled out (triplicate)- please note the following: a - What do you use for Municipal Code? b - Height I did Ft, in c - Complexion I did FAIR (I am white and not pasty white LOL) d - Telephone and Email - I used mine to contact me - as I did not interpret this to be my employers Step 1a - I have my endorsements filled out with signatures Step 1b - I have my notary ready Step 2 - DOC SP066Rev 7/19 - Is all filled out (triplicate) and ready to go Step 3 - I have my DL and Passport Ready to go Step 4 - I will have 4 passport photos - any problem with having it done at a USPS Office, or is there a better solution? Step 5 - I have paperwork from my executed Pistol Permits for Two fire arms I want to Qualify with Step 6 - I will have a MO for $ 50.00 for Payable to - “Treasurer, State of New Jersey” - is this correct Step 7 - Qualifications - I have a retired LEO that Certs other LEO's ready to Qualify me - going to use the following: – No holster needed – All shooting from the ready position – 50 rounds per firearm – FBI Q target – 24 rounds at 7 yards – 14 rounds at 10 yards – 6 rounds at 15 yards – 6 rounds at 25 yards For a total of 50 rounds. Must hit at least 40 rounds out of 50 (80%) Is this in line with what others are doing? Step 8 - Upon Application I will be given a code for finger printing at IDENTOGO - do I use that which is given to me by the local PD or use there ORI number at the time of printing? Or this - which is it? THE SERVICE CODE FOR CARRY PERMIT FINGERPRINTING IS: 2F164B - YOU WILLL NEED AN OPD CASE # TO GET FINGERPRINTED. YOU WILL GET ONE WHEN YOU DROP OFF YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION Other DATA - I have from 2012 a cert for the NRA Basic Pistol Course - as well as the Home Firearms Safety Course - will these be needed for anything, I am assuming no and mean diddly squat for this application ( I did these in the anticipation of law changes back then for 'training' etc. ) If you can look at the above and see if I am on the money with this or not - I said to myself that I was not going to apply and wait till I get to SC, but being I am here for 2 more years, my wife was like - "why aren't you applying? its your right and the law is on your side. God I love her.... LOL Thanks for taking the time to read this......and any guidance you can provide. Peace, Nick
  12. Can you please provide pictures of: * Bore * Inside of the cylinder rear face * Firing Pin Hole * Opposite Side of the Revolver * Grips off Do you have the box and papers? Thanks Nick
  13. https://www.amazon.com/Kelly-Turnbull-6-book-series/dp/B07XXD1TVX Read them all...skip book 3 it was stupid..... they mirror what is happening or could happen...fast reading...gun heavy...hey it's not Robert Ludlum or Forsythe...but well worth the read.
  14. Anyone have the link to the form from NJSP that has Justifieable Need removed?
  15. There are three endorsements needed....typically a notary is present to see the signers sign...is that what everyone is doing? If so that seems laborious...
  16. So you need three endorsements that need to be notarized....so you have to get all four parties together at once?
  17. You carry at a US Post Office? My local PO has a sign that I recall..I'll try to take a pic..and we are in rural Sussex co.
  18. You will likely get the permit and not be able to exercise that right anywhere - until such time as more lawsuits are brought to strike down those laws....that create the sensitive places. I understand the zeal to apply and get the permit, yet I am confounded by why it has to be 'right now!'.... Good for those that have done it ! That being said, is there a central ONE STICKY POST, that has all the requirements etc.?
  19. 100 %, and some action work and new springs
  20. You can find a deal, if you keep up the hunt.... They are just such good looking pistols, and a bonus they shoot like a dream.
  21. I do blame Nappen, while capitalism rules, and I am all for it....he and others like him have profited very well over the plight of NJ Gun owners..... That was my point of an similar post....at least Colandro is charging a fair and equitable amount of money for the quals... That attorneys price is egregious IMO....for what might ought NOT need to be done. Talk about taking advantage - what about the poor woman single two kids that needs a CCW, is he going to 'rape' her financially too? Caveat emptor
  22. 5k, well if that doesn't speak volumes, i do not know what does..... Welcome to NJ, where the charlatans rule....5k..lol.... that buys a lot of burgerbusy.... in NH, hey chubby ubsy....
  23. What I thinking foolish, others might not. I am not going to risk my freedom or ability to own arms in free states, by getting collared in a liberal state, where constitutional carry is not codified in state law .....regardless of what SCOTUS, USCONN ETC.....says..... Ymmv...
