Ok..... Can it be done at the local PD station? I havent read much but I am certainly interested. During my former profession, FBI was required to come in and "look at stuff" and they even recommended I carry but that chance is long gone.

What if the NJSP:NJ government falls back on these like AR's? Do the people have to take the loss on these firearms also? Or is this substantially different from a legality stand point? Welcome... It took my Local PD 2 or 3 weeks after I did my fingerprints, for my FID. Mind you, I live in a major city here in NJ so that was a bit shocking. I wonder if it comes back even faster now that I have an FID? I applied for two permits yesterday, so we'll see how fast they get back. The lady at the desk said its about 30 days but maybe less.. I want a VP9 as well, and a Ruger Mark4 to win matches. (lol) The CZ SP01 is a very very nice pistol. You've already made some good choices! Good luck. Shooting my .45 hurts my wallet so thats why I am choosing two other calibers. Be patient! Good things come to those who wait... I think.

How do you guys like the new mark4 so far? I saw that Ruger introduced a tactical version which has a 4.4" barrel. Has anyone shot that version, and can offer an opinion versus the 5" bull barrel?

Thank you for the replies. I've decided to choose a warmer day. I was curious about the functions in low temps and glad someone addressed it. I know metals can severely expand and contract with these temps and was wondering if there was a list of do's and don'ts for this sub freezing weather. These patches of brutally fridgid temps aren't fun.

anyone doing it?? any rifle/pistol dynamics to be aware of in the cold sub 36 degree weather? theres a heatwave this week. any tips? recommendations? should i use a mat? should i wait till April? or just go in doors?
