  1. So, C&R licenses are finally being recognized by the State of NJ. But... who will even ship to NJ? I can see it now, spending hours on the phone trying to convince a seller to ship direct to your door. Since the 03 is a FFL are you exempt from NJ’s assault weapons ban? Are M1 carbines okay to purchase and take possession of? Magazines?
  2. How much do you pay for POTS service? For two lines through Verizon it’s almost $160 not including calls. Not my account but a relatives account and they are insistent on keeping the POTS service and spending a small fortune every month for the “reliability”. As someone else has already pointed out, POTS lines are typically split to fiberoptic at some point, whether that be 2 miles or 20 miles from your house. Word in the industry is that Verizon is allowing the system to die off and pushing voip and other alternatives to work on getting POTS customers off the system and so that they can eventually pull the plug on the service. Will this happen soon? No, it will likely be many years before Verizon entirely kills off POTS service. A few years ago I helped someone setup a landline using a T-Mobile SIM card and a wireless gateway I purchased off eBay, the Chinese made gateway cost about $60 and all you needed to do was insert the SIM card of you’re choice and plug a landline into it. T-Mobile at one pint offered a $25 / month unlimited minutes plan and that plan along with that gateway was very reliable and cost effective.
  3. If I remember correctly, ATF will not issue a FFL unless you have the retail license secured first. In NJ you need a retail firearms license and be zoned for a home business. You MIGHT be able to get around zoning by claiming to be online/mail order only since most towns will have a clause for “occasional” foot traffic.. NJSP will require (at the very minimum) you have storage (safe, even the cheap stack-on cabinets work) and alarm system. NJSP and ATF will meet up wth you and go over your plans/see the location. You mentioned Millville and I believe ATF would come from Philadelphia or woodland park for the interview and inspection. Woodland Park office handles my FEL (federal explosives license) and ATF has always been very professional and easy to deal with. As long as you walk a straight line you’ll have no problems with them, NJSP too.
  4. Also, for clarification, you can ship a rifle or shotgun through UPS/Fedex/USPS as a private non FFL to a FFL dealer. You do not need to show the clerk a copy of the FFL, you should check the FFL online using the ATF website and verify it before shipping but that doesn’t apply in your case (it’s an antique and excempt). You can also ship yourself a firearm out of state, just write C/O and your name on the address. ATF allows this, no FFL required. You can also ship a firearm for repair to a factory or gunsmith and it may be returned directly to your door, even in NJ. No FFL required on your end. as a private person you Cannot send a handgun through USPS and both UPS and Fedex require overnight or next day service.
  5. No FFL needed. Just box it up and tell them it’s finshing rods or golf clubs if they ask. Most of the idiots at UPS have zero idea how federal firearm laws work. Per BATFE that rifle (1898 and before) is Excempt from NFA/GCA/etc and isnt considered to be a firearm. You can ship it wherever you want, door to door. Just make sure it’s legal where you are sending it as California and NY might treat it differently.. For the record I’ve never shown UPS a copy of the receivers FFL and I’ve shipped upwards of 20 long guns through them and about a half dozen pistols using the overnight service. I use UPS pickup so it’s no hassle. A few years ago I went to the Pleasantville NJ hub and some asshole thought he knew it all and refused to ship my Marlin back to the factory for repair... after that I switched to UPS pickup.
  6. Small world! You probably know Dino from the Vineland site?.
  7. Because of injuries. NJ was one of the first States to ban consumer fireworks. The irony? New Jersey had a few companies that manufactured consumer fireworks based here till the 70s/80s. Vineland Firework Mfg. Co., in Cumberland County comes to mind.
  8. Do you work for a display operator? I have an ATF Type 54 license and shoot 1.3 product.. you can get the license in NJ, ATF came down from North Jersey and interviewed me and approved the application. I shoot product in PA, NJ has the whole license requirement if you want to fire electrically.
  9. Try Coleman’s surplus in PA. They had pallets of them before. Get the 40mm cans, they are way better for storage!. I can fit a TON in one of those.
