  1. Absolutely, everyone carries laser pointers at 2 AM so they can play with their cats. Here, kitty, kitty....
  2. Maybe not. Seeing a bright light coming down the hallway doesn't tell the bad guy anything. It could be a weapon light attached to a firearm or it could be a handheld flashlight. He has no way of knowing, but he certainly knows you're coming. Seeing a red dot from a laser bouncing off the walls and ending up on his chest tells him only one thing. But, that red dot isn't there to scare him away, it's there to help shot placement under duress. Although, we have some experts here that don't need help with shot placement when woken up at 2 AM because, well, they're experts.
  3. Please stop with all this logic and common sense, or your post will get a RED slash too.
  4. Who said they weren't capitalists, they'll make tons from everyone who took a hammer to their 15 rounders... Does anyone know, does this ruling re-rack back to 15, or can they go full bore to 30?
  5. Plus. they tell you where you're aiming, if you can't get over the sights, but don't mention lasers here, it's weapon lights or nothing. Lasers are taboo with this group.
  6. Since you're a Bernie supporter, why am I not surprised you're clueless what Socialism truly is?
  7. Here is another example of what the guy in the video was trying to prove to the kids. Same point: Does socialism work? A classroom experiment http://www.thecommentator.com/article/646/does_socialism_work_a_classroom_experiment
  8. You missed the point completely. The video wasn't about "giving" a portion of your GPA, he was using that as an example, as something some students work hard for and earn, while other students sit on the asses and don't work hard. The guy in the video couldn't use money that the kids had, as they are all broke, which is why they embrace Socialism, taking money other people who had worked hard for, and giving it to them, who don't want to put in the effort.
  9. Ha ha, me too. Even since I applied, I haven't decided. Thinking maybe getting a wheel gun, even though I have hardly any interest in them. Maybe another compact 9mm, maybe a 22LR since I have plenty of ammo for it, maybe a Beretta .40 so I can share mags,.. I have no idea. Ha, I have a big project I'm starting outside, but was waiting for the weather to warm up a bit, so I applied for the permits to give me something to do and see how long this new process takes. You're reading my mind. They must use it only for these forms. Heck, how many companies even use NCR forms these days?
  10. Has to be lazy. Funny thing, all the application stuff is done electronically but the clerk still has to manually type up the form in the end. So much for technology. I'm trying to remember, does the 90 day clock start when the app is approved (and is now just sitting), or does it start the day the Chief signs them?
  11. EVERY post you make here is facepalm worthy. Now that's total crap, your posting history disputes that, big time. Like CNN, WaPo and MSNBC, where you can't tell their radical, Lefty, Liberal bias from their names?
  12. They're knuckleheads... Mine have been sitting on the Chief's desk for a week, and I was the first one to use the system in my town too. What the heck, the Chief can't find 15 seconds to sign 3 permits in the course of a week? I know he ain't that busy!
  13. Darn, now all those firearm owners who had tragic boating accidents and lost their high capacity mags, will have to go back out in that lake and dive to see if they can find their old mags.
  14. Did you read the last paragraph of that article? ...."It’s true that allowing New York City residents to transport guns outside the city would entail certain public safety risks, even if the practice was regulated. But with the gun violence epidemic increasing in the United States, our communities simply cannot withstand newfound constitutional protections for violent “good guys with a gun." Now is the time for the NYPD to step up and protect all Americans by repealing NYC’s gun transport ordinance. Everitt is the director of One Pulse for America, a gun violence prevention group founded by actor/LGBTQ rights activist George Takei after the mass shooting at The Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Is there an acronym for these people, like we have TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome)? Maybe a new one, GDS (Gun Derangement Syndrome).
  15. Damn... false alarm. Stopped in to pick up my permits finally today, since I received the email over the weekend. The clerk told me she typed them up, but they've been sitting on the Chief's desk all week, waiting for him to sign them. I guess they'll just let the clock run out on the 30 days... So much for a new stream lined, electronic system, where you still have to wait for someone to do something manually...
  16. Florida University students are asked if they would share their GPA with less fortunate students, since they feel that the rich should share their wealth with the less fortunate. Recent surveys have shown that the younger population support Socialism over Capitalism. Watch their faces when asked to clarify both: Would college students support a policy that would force those with high GPAs to donate part of their own GPA to help those with lower grades? With the recent rise of politicians like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, more people than ever support socialist policies. But would they support socialist policies when it came to their GPA? We went to Florida International University to find out.
  17. And THIS is why you are so misinformed on most topics: Eight out of ten people only read the headline https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/article/eight-ten-people-read-headline/1374722
  18. This is absolutely true. I follow the tiny house movement, which has a big Millennial following/interest. I read some of the forums and comments at the end of some articles. It totally amazes me the basic and stupid questions these kids ask, when a simple Google search would provide them all the answers they want. They are either too lazy or brain dead without the ability to think for themselves, if information isn't just shoveled to them. It believe it's the latter.
  19. from that link.. ...."SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A total of 8,000 gun owners marched on the Statehouse Wednesday. They do this every year for Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day, but they said this year is more important. Gun owners said they feel like their Second Amendment rights are under attack more than ever."
  20. It's a pretty nasty fine and jail term: Donald Trump's Bump Stock Ban Turns Peaceful Gun Owners Into Felons by Fiat The ban, which took effect this week, usurps congressional authority by rewriting an inconvenient law. As of midnight on Tuesday, owners of "bump-stock-type devices" became felons, subject to a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. That's a pretty nasty surprise for anyone who bought these products, which were repeatedly declared legal by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) during the Bush and Obama administrations. It is especially unsettling because the law has not changed since the agency made that determination. What happened instead is that the ATF, under orders from Donald Trump, reinterpreted the law to reach a diametrically opposed conclusion that is contrary to the plain meaning of the relevant statutes. Critics of presidential power grabs, regardless of how they feel about bump stocks or gun control more generally, should be troubled by this blatant usurpation of congressional authority. The DOJ estimates that Americans own as many as 520,000 bump stocks. https://reason.com/blog/2019/03/28/donald-trumps-bump-stock-ban-turns-peace That's my issue too. Congress didn't vote and pass this law, knee jerk reactions to a minority group of people cause Trump to FORCE the ATF to revise the law. Really bad optics from our (so called) 2A friendly President. That opens the door for him to push for any other bans, based on political pressure.
  21. So what? They kowtowed to the crying by a certain party to ban bump stocks after Las Vegas, and made a NEW rule. ....."On February 20, 2018, President Trump issued a memorandum instructing the Attorney General “to dedicate all available resources to… propose for notice and comment a rule banning all devices that turn legal weapons into machineguns.” In response to that direction the Department reviewed more than 186,000 public comments and made the decision to make clear that the term “machinegun” as used in the National Firearms Act (NFA), as amended, and Gun Control Act (GCA), as amended, includes all bump-stock-type devices that harness recoil energy to facilitate the continuous operation of a semiautomatic long gun after a single pull of the trigger. https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/bump-stocks The point being, they don't give a crap about "Will Not Be Infringed", and sway with the wind and the political heat. Trump rolled over and gave the Democrats what they wanted. 186K out of 300 MILLION posted comments. That's 0.0006% of the population. That should make EVERYONE wake up!! What's next on the list? Reduced magazines (oh, wait), telescoping stocks (oh, wait), flash hiders (oh,wait). How about banning semi-auto actions (New Zealand), more reduced magazines, ban handguns, etc.... it can continue, piece by piece. What about Red Flag laws? White House Endorses "Red Flag" Gun Confiscation “We need to push along the ERPOs so that we have these red flag [gun confiscation] laws...this is the single most important thing I think we can do in the gun control area.” —William Barr, Attorney General Nominee 1/15/19 https://nationalgunrights.org/resources/news/white-house-endorses-red-flag-gun-confiscation/ Can you say "GUILTY until proven INNOCENT" with those laws? Yeah, I know the normal response.... "Nobody I know owns a Bump Stock, so it doesn't matter if they're banned".....
  22. Doesn't all that salt make them corrode faster?
  23. Well folks, the second Stay was denied too, so here's your writing on the wall, what's YOUR Plan "B": The Supreme Court has declined to stop the Trump administration from enforcing its ban on "bump-stock" devices, which allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like machine guns. Solicitor General Noel J. Francisco, representing the administration, urged the justices to deny the stay in the case, Gun Owners of America v. Barr, No. 18A963. “The protection of the public and law enforcement officers from the proliferation of prohibited firearms is a bedrock foundation of federal firearms legislation,” he wrote, adding that the regulation “promotes that public interest by protecting the public from the dangers posed by machine guns prohibited by federal law.” And now, as AP reports, Chief Justice John Roberts declined one request for the court to get involved on Tuesday and a second request was declined by the court on Thursday. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-28/supreme-court-refuses-block-bump-stock-ban
