  1. Interesting news, the SCOTUS just overturned Roe vs Wade right after overturning unconstitutional gun laws.
  2. The Heritage Guild is a chain of gun shops. They've got three locations, one in Branchburg, one in Rahway, and one in Easton, PA. So anyway, the Easton location has a shooting range. The Branchburg location has an archery range but not a firearms range. I don't know what kind of ranges the Rahway location has or if they even have any ranges. I've been to the Easton store quite a bit, they've got two ranges in their location. Although they're in Pennsylvania and not New Jersey they are right next to the border so getting there shouldn't be too hard for some NJ residents, depending on where in NJ you live. Right nearby The Heritage Guild in Easton is Sarco's and 507 Outfitters which along with The Heritage Guild can be good places to buy ammo, particularly now you might want to check out those two stores if you're shooting at The Heritage Guild and if they're short on the ammo you want.
  3. My thoughts exactly. We should at least be able to get it to a federal circuit.
  4. The 2nd Amendment clearly states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms." In NJ you can't walk down the street or go out in other public places while carrying a Smith & Wesson or Glock on your hip, that is a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment not only talks about the right to keep arms it also talks about the right to bear arms. The fact that you can't carry guns in public places in NJ is a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment.
  5. Maybe if we ban high capacity magazines eventually they will be used up because the bullets will all be shot out. After all, magazines are disposable, aren't they?
  6. Just about anything can happen in NJ in terms of people's gun rights being violated. Especially with the current governor the magazine ban in NJ came as no surprise to me. You're right about people needing the same attitude in NJ as those that overturned the magazine ban in CA but the fact of the matter is most people don't like guns in NJ.
  7. Well as of now the high capacity mag ban in CA has been overturned so supposedly you can now get magazines that hold over 10 rounds in CA. This ruling was partially due to a woman who defended herself from home intruders and she had a "high capacity magazine" in her weapon. She couldn't reload because she had her phone in her other hand. Here is the article. https://www.foxnews.com/us/judge-blocks-californias-high-capacity-ammunition-ban
  8. #1 That's how it already is in NJ, at least in terms of gun rights. #2 Considering we've got a very conservative SCOTUS especially with the two appointees by Trump, I would count on the ladder. So lets say that this doesn't get to the SCOTUS. Is there any way the NJ magazine ban can be challenged and brought to the 9th circuit the same way its being challenged in CA?
  9. Any way to get it to SCOTUS without it being overturned by the 9th circuit?
  10. So this happened at the federal level, does this mean that NJ's "high capacity" magazine ban is also struck down?
  11. But the Democrat crowd, or at least the gun control crowd doesn't like violence. It doesn't make sense they would resort to death threats and bodily harm.
  12. Well now supposedly they're working on making a 5 round limit on magazines.
  13. To the best of my knowledge they never did go door to door when they imposed the 15 round limit in NJ rather if you were caught with a magazine that could hold 15+ rounds you would be in trouble.
  14. I wish people wouldn't meekly turn over their guns if and when the police conduct a door to door seizure, but explain Katrina.
  15. Based on previous instances, nobody is going to say 'fu' and start shooting, after all, that's not what happened when people were having their guns seized in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
  16. I do know lots of people who believe in gun rights are against gun registration. One of the arguments in favor of gun registration is that it cuts down on straw purchases. For instance, in NJ to buy a handgun you need a special handgun purchasing permit and, one permit per handgun and when you go to purchase the handgun a copy including the make, model, serial number, caliber, and so forth is sent to both your state and local headquarters. One of the arguments in favor of this is that lets say you buy a handgun and then sell it to a criminal and the criminal uses it to kill somebody, with the handgun being registered they could trace it back to you and you could be charged with illegally selling a handgun to a criminal and with accessory to murder in the case the criminal does use it to kill somebody. Now, as for me Im against registration for other reasons but this is one of the arguments that those who are in favor of registration use. Thoughts?
  17. Yes Sports Authority was a good chain and they even sold handguns in NJ at one time. Too bad they've closed down. Now we've got Dick's in its place which Im avoiding right now.
  18. It was one of the best NJ ranges that I knew of although I don't know about that many NJ ranges. Aside from Ray's there's been 2 or 3 NJ ranges that I've been to. Now, one of my favorite public ranges is the Sunset Hill Shooting Range in Henryville PA. One of my favorite ranges overall is the range at Front Sight but that's all the way in Pahrump, NV and its a private range so you only get to use it if you're taking a class there.
  19. If you want to stay in NJ and consider it your state, good for you. You want to fight for gun rights in NJ I wish you the best but the fact of the matter is NJ is getting worse and worse with gun restrictions, especially with Murphy in office. I know the truth can sometimes hurt. As for how I will be running Wolf out of office? I will be voting for Scott Wagner. If anybody should be governor of PA it should be him.
  20. If you want to fight for your rights in NJ than good for you but overall I would say at a national level we're winning. Even during the Obama administration the tide was turning in our direction and now during the Trump administration even more so. Now, Im talking about at a national level not at a state level. In NJ there was a bit of hope when Christie was governor but now with Murphy as governor those hopes are dashed. For the gun haters, NJ is one of their last strong holds and they will be fighting tooth and nail to keep it that way. PA is overall very gun friendly and I plan on fighting to make it even more so. I love PA not just because they're gun friendly but because its very beautiful there and the people are very nice. And Im not talking about those Philly A-holes that make up only a small portion of the state population. Philadelphia is just one city in the vast state and if you ask me, its much like NJ.
  21. Better than Meltzer's? I've never been to Jersey City Armory but when I was at Meltzer's they had among the best prices that I've seen and I did some looking around, visiting a whole bunch of different gun shops. This was back in 1999.
  22. More or less yes. A stroll down memory lane. I miss child world too even though I was only there once since they never had any in my area but I remember the commercials with the mascot bear and all. Toys R Us will be missed too but at this point I've moved on to Cabela's which has become the Toys R Us or Child World for me now.
  23. Well I do know that much of the shopping today is done over the internet and that includes shopping for guns. With guns in particular from my experience you can get really good deals on the internet, but you will still need the gun shops where you would go to pick up the guns that you buy on the internet. So that's the reason I see why gun shops would stay in business, if for any reason at all to do transfers.
