  1. One of the best things someone ever taught me for storage. These form a solid seal. Throw a few packs of desiccant in there with your ammo. Good to go. Plus you get a bunch of pretzel rods.
  2. Applied for 2 handgun permits on May 24th. Within 18 minutes, they sent me confirmation emails that both my references had submitted their forms. Haven't heard a peep since. So today is 23 days since I filed for them. Local PD says I will be emailed when they are available to pickup so we'll see. It was about 3 weeks overall for my initial FID and handgun permit. 6/24 - Background check complete. Waiting for final approval. 7/7 - Application approved at 6:07am, local PD emailed me at 3:48pm to let me know it is ready for pick-up any day, Monday-Friday 9am-3:30pm.
  3. Cool to hear. It's definitely a very innovative way to increase fuel economy.
  4. What are you driving, a Jeep? I know they have some interesting transmissions with extra gears for fuel economy. I just wonder how long the transmissions last with the extra amount of gear changes.
  5. I've had mostly good experiences with pits. My sister's pit gave me a bloody nose once when he whipped his head to the side to lick my face. Thinks he's a giant lapdog. He picked up on my sister's pregnancy fast, has been at my niece's side ever since she was born. My niece of 4 now and the dog let's her do whatever she wants. But that's all he's known, is calm, family life. When you adopt, it's a completely different story. You have no idea what they've gone through. And once they've been trained to do something, it's instinctual. It's just scary because of the damage they can cause the bigger a dog is.
  6. Neil Gorsuch hasn't gone blindly one-sided with his opinions either so it's no lock to be 2A friendly on every decision.
  7. The 7 justices who voted to ignore the cases clearly don't want to be held responsible for the shit storm of future cases if they make a decision one way or the other. Pretty sad that that's their job.
  8. I would have loved to hear the verbal arguments for this case. NJ has for too long used this "justifiable need" excuse to deny everyone claiming no need is justifiable. And THAT needs to be addressed yesterday.
  9. Tested it (obviously) on your post. Seems to work for me. Interesting bug.
  10. FYI - PowderValley tends to have plenty of H4350 in stock more than any other retailer. https://www.powdervalleyinc.com/product/hodgdon-h4350/
  11. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle https://www.brownells.com/reloading/books-amp-videos/books/reloading-books-amp-manuals/handbook-of-cartridge-reloading-10th-edition-prod97389.aspx https://www.brownells.com/reloading/books-amp-videos/books/reloading-books-amp-manuals/6th-edition-rifle-handgun-reloading-manual-prod128640.aspx Based on Hodgdon's and Seirra's data, I'd say grab some Hornady 55gr FMJBT's, 24gr H335 w/ 2.25" COAL. It'll work. You aren't flirting with a max load. If you are just plinking and not caring about high level of precision, you won't have to worry about whether or not you are at a node. Hell, both Hodgdon and Sierra say you can start at 23gr in a bolt action if you are truly trying to be economical and use the least powder possible.
  12. Yea, I used to do that. I like the way American Eagle rounds are loaded in each box for .223 and 6.5CM. But I'm at the point I just bring it in a 100 round ammo box and my range doesn't ask questions.
  13. I don't know about you all, but target shooting is a non-contact sport as far as I'm concerned and Murphy said non-contact sports can reopen...
  14. Viruses need hosts. More people congregating means more hosts for the viruses meaning greater spread of the virus. If the virus has no new host to move to, it dies. The science is simple. The question is, can Murphy prove certain businesses have no way to mitigate that? Because I firmly believe that I can go to an indoor shooting range, not physically interact with anyone, and sanitize my station after I pack up. That would be mitigated. In fact, I'd say that's safer than any kind of business that involves currency transactions where people are passing money or credit cards between people. I get in, no one touches my rifle and ammo but me, no sharing of the virus.
  15. Nothing from our senators on the issue. Wrote them but no response as I expected. Wrote to them again about lack of responses and also about the unrelated FISA bill they both voted Yea on to strip us of our Fourth Amendment rights. I'm sure there won't be a response either. Van Drew quickly responded to my email about HR5717: "The Congressman agrees with you and does NOT support H.R.5717. If it does come to the House Floor for a vote he will be voting NO."
  16. It's a shame. I was hoping due to the gap in weather they would go for it, but considering lightning can travel 25 miles from where it originates, plus the shift in weather over 20 minutes was going to make it too tight. Did they say when it's rescheduled to?
  17. Tell me you don't kiester them.
  18. You know the OP asked about a SUV where you can technically access the trunk from the passenger compartment, right? So the second paragraph applies?
  19. Stop trolling. This isn't the 1A forum. Copying and pasting the rules verbatim does not somehow make me wrong.
  20. Wawa is actually re-opening self-serve coffee.
  21. That's what's in my BRCC mug right now. The name is quite accurate. It's very smooth and doesn't taste super bitter (I drink it black and strong). When I go back to the lab tomorrow, I'm definitely snagging my boxes of AK47 espresso and CAF blend. I've done both. I've ground up beans and french pressed it. I've ground it up and just used a normal drip pot. I've done regular grounds in a drip pot. I've done k-cups. Grind up beans and french pressing definitely is most flavorful, but I can do a k-cup and still be extremely happy with how my cup of coffee tastes.
  22. Yea, fair enough. .45 ACP it is. Just curious how long permits will take. My town was fast before the state took over. I don't need fingerprints and references are in so there's not much left to do.
  23. https://www.njsp.org/firearms/transport-firearm.shtml All firearms transported into the State of New Jersey: Shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances. The firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console.
  24. Straight from the NJ State Police website: G. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console;
  25. Would love to hear from some other members as this sounds like suspicious advice. No offense, but that doesn't sound at all like anything I've ever heard. @njJoniGuy or @Displaced Texan People who actually seem like they know what they are talking about, can you confirm one way or another?
