  1. Yes, credit card fraud isn't any fun either. Also, I'll add once they request your FID good luck having the ammo sent to a different address. If you'd like it sent to a work address, private mail box, whatever chances are they won't do it out of fear.
  2. Sniper, thank you, you beat me to it. "Your papers please" is a BS request when it's not req'd not to mention it's a recipe for ID fraud and sadly I can talk from experience on that. It has happened to me twice. One of the two times was minor and quickly cleaned up. The other took a little under two years to fully clean up. The legal people who helped me drove this home,.......unless required by law do not show anything which is connected to your ssn no matter how insignificant it may be. If the connection is there you are increasing your chances of ID fraud.
  3. There is no debate over brick-n-mortar stores. The law as it's written is a state law imposed on retailers located in the state. Some online retailers even request the FID for products it's not required for. There's nothing wrong with educating them. It's misguided to do nothing.
  4. I wonder what happens if they can't reach you. Maybe you moved, changed phone #, etc.
  5. Hi John, I just went ahead and started a new thread. Thank you regardless.
  6. LOL, yes Tony, but I am hoping to get an outsiders unbiased thoughts here so I do not get a run-around from the FFL.
  7. Question,.......if the FFL incorrectly recorded some aspect of your handgun on the permit form, (make and/or caliber and/or serial#, etc), what is the proper way of handling this and getting it corrected? (If any FFLs see this your thoughts are GREATLY appreciated.) Also, is the buyer in any way legally responsible for not catching the mistake? Thank you in advance.
  8. Can someone direct me to where on this site would be the best place to ask a FFL paperwork question??? Thank you.
  9. Well I can say Classic and Cabelas do charge the correct NJ sales tax.
  10. Except they wouldn't be illegally selling in NJ. The laws you're referring to apply to brick-n-mortar locations in NJ and that comes directly from Nappen. If say Classic Firearms had such a location in NJ then yes, they'd be on the hook for getting a copy of the FID but they don't.
  11. Based on what criteria would they be brought to court?
  12. 20 people complaining represents WAY more than 20 people.
  13. You got me curious so I checked their policies. It sure does say that, seems to apply to both centerfire and rimfire rifles. I'd love to know the rationale.
  14. In a similar vein many if not most retailers won't ship a firearm to NJ which happens to have a non-compliant mag even when you tell them to keep the mag and ship the gun.
