Applied on Friday, received approval today. Pickup on Thursday. York county so it’s a drive but Delaware county would be a drive plus I get to wait longer. I go to PA often as I live near the border, and every trip there to shop or just hang out is a pain in the neck now. Plus it gives me a few more states as backup to FL and UT. So I’m glad to get it ASAP. If you’re willing to drive, York is a good alternative.

Do you know if I can go over to DelCo and have it done in the same day?!? or is all online?

What kind of DV incident did you have which you are so concerned with? Where you convicted of something, charge initially then the charge were dropped, or just a formal complaint with no charges?

my kids mother filed for a RO and child support in 08' and it was granted, then she filed a motion for both to be dismissed 2yrs later 10'..Anthony from GFH on his podcast said any kind of DV is subject for denial since judges can use "public safety" even though I'm currently a FID holder and had an expungement in 16' it raises my concern.

If it ended in a dismissal and there was only a TRO (temporary restraining order) then it shouldnt matter or count against you!

If there was a convitiction of DV, then that would be a different story as that is now a criminal record.. But i doubt you would have a FID or purchase permits if that was the case. I believe ANY conviction of DV disqualifies you.

I really don't remember (2008) I believe it was a RO, I  know that we went to court and dropped the whole ordeal (2010)and its the same judge who is going over our PTC applications. my expungement was in (2016)

    ^^^This

I had a TRO for a week during my divorce. When I was denied in 2018 the judge even mentioned it and said it wasn't a concern. He denied me for lack of JN only.

This go around I didn't have a hearing and have (still) yet to see my permit and the accompanying court order, but I have been told by the court and the NJSP FIU that it was approved and is still (11 days later) in the NJSP inter-office mail system somewhere. I have been bugging the NJSP to find it as I really need it for next week. I have a 3 day class in south Jersey and it would save me about 6 hours of driving if I can take my gun to a hotel rather than have to drive my gun home every night.

Yea its a head scratcher... cause judges can literally do what they want since they have overall power and can still deny you off "public safety" In Bergen County a judge denied a FID holder a PTC because of a careless driving ticket. IDK if you guys been hearing the stories coming out across the state on the court level. I can't imagine having a denial then the motion to cease my firearms (thousands ontop of thousands of dollars worth) then having to hire an attorney for 3-5k cause lawshield doesn't cover it and having to fight in court for over a year. Just cause they CAN at the flick of a wrist and pen, when it costs me time and money.

Yeah I read it. It said they're looking for a lawyer. Isn't that the whole point of lawshield?

LAWSHIELD is worthless.. I called them to see about withdrawing and using my lawyer privileges. They  put me on the phone the next day with an Evan Nappen lawyer and he flat out kept saying read the fine print we only advise and he didn't even advise me just said if you see the writing on the wall then withdraw...and we charge way more than 3k (that was the price I threw out there) for a denial hearing or even coming to the hearing before getting the PTC. whats the point for US lawshield again!? pffft

Did anyone see this happy horseshit?

    FB_IMG_1664213590678.jpg

I had an expungement before I was able to get an FID card and successfully applied many times thru the years for pistol permits. I'm really debating withdrawing my PTC application since I had a DV case (no violence)with my daughters mother 15yrs ago and from my understanding PO's have the ability to pull these old files up and DENY. I'd rather withdraw than have a nasty denial on my record that I have to put down for every application, ughhhh cant wait to move down south.

At least your in Morris and looks  like they are issuing permits.  take a look at Mercer, tomorrow will be 70 calendar days or 49 work days for me. Looks like half the counties dragging their feet according the Krdshrk's map.

BREAKING! MONMOUTH CO. CCW APPLICANTS IN A JAM!
ANJRPC LAWYER DAN SCHMUTTER ADVISES TO LAWYER-UP!
by Black Wire Media Mon. Sept. 19, 2022 www.cnjfo.com/join-us

    UPDATE! UPDATE FROM DAN SCHMUTTER!
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office contacted us to tell us that they are no longer requesting that applicants agree to conditions on their permits.

NEW IMPORTANT REQUEST FROM DAN SCHMUTTER:
If you are contacted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (OR any OTHER AGENCY in ANY COUNTY--Editor) and told that your application is being forwarded to the judge, can you please ask them to confirm that they will copy you simultaneously with their letter to the judge?
Also, when they send you their letter to the judge, can you please forward it right away to the ANJRPC Permitting Strikeforce email:
    [email protected]
We think it’s potentially very important what they say to the judge in their cover letter and how they characterize the submission.
    Thank you.
    --------------Yesterday's FULL STORY BELOW!--------

Daniel Schmutter, lead Counsel for the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, announced an hour ago the results of communications with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office concerning handgun carry permit restrictions. Although we're saddened by this news, it's not surprising given the obvious panic attack that our overlords in Trenton have been going through since June 23rd when the Bruen decision was announced! The first group of carry permit applicants in Monmouth County were GIVEN UNTIL TOMORROW to decide whether or not to go along with the UNNAMED restrictions or NOT, including the possibility of not carrying a loaded handgun in ANY vehicle you're in, thus RENDERING the PERMIT itself almost USELESS!

    From Attorney Daniel Schmutter:

On behalf of the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (“ANJRPC”) I spoke with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office regarding their recent contact with some handgun carry permit applicants requesting that the applicants agree to certain restrictions and conditions on their permits.

Here's what the Prosecutor’s Office told us:

First, they indicated that none of the applicants contacted are required to agree to the requested conditions.

Second, they indicated that if applicants do not agree to the requested conditions, they do not intend to oppose the application, and they do not intend to request conditions from the judge deciding the permit application. However, the Prosecutor’s Office does intend to specifically advise the judge that the applicant did not agree to any conditions. This is in contrast to simply saying nothing to the judge.

Third, they indicated that they believe that if an applicant does not agree to some or all of their requested conditions, the judge may impose even more conditions. However, they could not predict whether or not the judge might impose more conditions anyway even if the applicant does agree to the requested conditions. The Prosecutor’s Office did not offer guarantees either way of what the judge might or might not do.

Fourth, they indicated that they have asked the first group of applicants contacted to decide by Tuesday September 20, 2022 what they wish to do regarding the requested conditions.

While we can report what they told us, we cannot vouch for the truthfulness of their statements to us. Their implication is that applicants who do not consent to their requested conditions may face more stringent conditions imposed by the judge, but they did not attempt to guarantee what the judge will actually do either way.

Applicants who have been contacted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office may wish to directly and independently verify with that office the information above, and address any other questions directly with the individual at the Prosecutor’s Office who contacted you, before deciding whether or not to accept their requested conditions.

Applicants MAY WISH TO RETAIN AN ATTORNEY to assist with any aspect of this process, whether to communicate with the Prosecutor’s Office regarding any questions, to address timing issues, to obtain advice about whether or not to agree to any conditions, to negotiate the quantity or specific language of the requested conditions, to advise on what the judge may or may not do based on what the applicant chooses to do, or any other aspect of this process.  THIS MESSAGE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE -- you should only rely on advice from an attorney retained by YOU".

    EDITOR'S NOTE:

So, there it is folks. Our Governor lives in Monmouth County, and he hates GUNZ ('cept those carried by his security detail that is)! As more news becomes available, we'll be sharing it with our readers!

I am going to start the process for applying now. I just called my local police department to ask for a case number to use to scheduling the fingerprinting, he says that the case number is given out after I submit the full application. Isn’t that reversed?

every dept has their own way of accepting applications. mine told me to put "NA" for confirmation case # when I went down there then dropped off my package with the identgo receipt.

Purchased US lawshield last week based on your previous advice - I think it's an incredibly important backup when you're dealing with possible life-altering legal issues.

This is exactly why I just went ahead and purchased a membership on Friday. I've heard of 11ppl in NJ getting red flagged and 8 having their firearms seized as per Anthony @ GFH all while they have valid FID cards and been getting approved for pistol permits for years. that was enough for me to purchase and for $200 (I added bail bond and expert witness as well as multi-state) I feel I saved thousands and it was a huge relief.

Lol. Yeah. Funny how we’re all in the same places.

I deleted the below comment from that thread because I didn’t want someone who’s qual was rejected to name drop me.…

I qualified at rtsp/union. No 80% mentioned on my qual. Just that I passed.

the Burlington County asst prosecutor told me I was approved. I have a hearing scheduled.  Don’t know why that one guy was rejected. Just happy I wasn’t. It’s all bullshit.

That fb post was the first I’ve heard of any qual being rejected. And the qual itself wasn’t, just the lack of wording on the paperwork.

small world lol, we in this thing together...you're just the tip of the spear!! and ok I know me and you went to shooters that's why I asked. You and my coworker are on the same timeline though, I'm 2-3 weeks behind you guys. And agreed this is all bullshit!! I'm thinking if I should contact US Lawshield before I go to my hearing.  With a restricted permit I'm unable to get a PA Non-Res.

    Hearings are required!

Just spoke with Judge Cooks office, not Alex who handles the courts firearms permitting.

In person hearings are required. Mine is set for 9/12 at 10:00. Apparently my notice should be here today. If not, probably Tuesday.  But they were mailed.

They’re getting back to me on whether or not the judge will issue permit on the spot or mail back to PD.

Also, no word on whether or not we’ll see these absurd restriction via court order like other counties. Guess we’ll find out soon.

Not thrilled about this but at least it’s moving forward.

Did they mention anything about Shooters qualifications?! someone in the FB group said RTSP wasn't good enough it has to state "80% passing" and he has to do an amended qual and resubmit ,did you see that also?

There's definitely more to it than simply the judge wanted to make up rules. Everyone seems to agree that this might be a work related permit.

Gotta remember not every gun owner will be applying to carry a gun as some of them don't feel the need for it or don't feel comfortable carrying etc...

there is one from monmouth and 2x from ocean county on NJ GUN REDDIT..and these are the folks willing to put their business out there..the one from monmouth put a video out..I hope your right but its weird that 3x ppl approved last week had restrictions.

Not mine. This is from Ocean County. I pulled this fro the Firearms NJ Facebook group. Gotta love a judge that makes up his her own rules....look at commandment 11...

Guarantee this is the route they going after the courts were "waiting for AG's guidlines" everyone that got theirs already congrats.. I KNOW BURLINGTON COUNTY WILL FOLLOW SUIT SMH.... by the time the lawsuits start rolling it will be renewal time. pffft

I suspect that what is meant is the kind of permits that NJ has issued pre-Bruen to security guards, etc., that were only valid during working hours. I could be wrong, though. I guess a definitive answer will need to wait until someone whose permit has been limited by a NJ Superior Court judge to carrying a specific handgun applies for a PA license.

yea, Im going to wait till I get mines from Burlington County then call over to Delco if I have one with restrictions. And take it from there.

  16. There's a debate going on about a dad in Ohio killing the daughters ex-boyfriend as he tried to enter the home and was shot multiple times THRU the door. There's an disturbing video but I was debating that in NEW JERSEY with this particular shoot. You ARE GOING TO JAIL and the prosecutor is going to try to throw the book at you. You will be perceived as a cold blooded murderer and might even have to move with the press and antigunners/victims supporters showing up 500-1k  in your little neighborhood. MY question to the forum IN OUR STATE is this a justifiable shoot or no?!?  THIS IS JUST A DISCUSSION I AM NOT A LAWYER.
