  1. the guy is full of it. 99.99% of FFLs are idiots, and want to push their overpriced products, they are anti 2A and support gun laws that will make them a quick buck. FFLs would LOVE online ammo sales to be banned so they can force you to buy their over priced in store ammo, they would love to charge you for a background check for ammo, more money in their pocket. The ATF will not approve anything- that is patently false. The NFA Division has state by state procedures for every type of NFA Item. This is why when I made history and got it approved on a lower receiver it took approx 6 months, the ATF in West Virginia was working with the agents and lawyers in the Newark Field Office to ensure it was legal and kosher.
  2. I kinda just rolled with the claims. FM Products makes high quality lowers and uppers for dope prices. thats mine from reddit. FM Product lower, complete 7.5 inch upper, with a blast diffuser to bring it to 8.25. they make 5 inch models as well with a tri lug so if you ever move out of the state you can grab a suppressor. Glock mags, last round hold open. my upper is side charging the 5 inch models are reg charging handle. Their bolt is great, I used a law tac folder (wouldn't do it again) CMC 3.5 pound single stage trigger and blitzkrieg standard buffer with orange sprinco spring
  3. From my understandting and what the ATF examiner and CC'd legal group said. just because you become an AOW you don't lose your states classification. So AOW - Pistol would mean in the eyes of NJ its still a pistol. In my case since it starts as receiver a firearm so its AOW - Firearm ... Honestly its 200 bucks and if you get denied you get that money back in 24 hours. Give it a shot...
  4. correct. converting a pistol of any sort in NJ creates an assault weapon by law, so the ATF would deny that application but firearms are legal in NJ, a lower receiver per the GCA is a firearm, and there is no issue in converting a firearm nor are AOWs banned by name
  5. no sir, federally if you have an AR Pistol for example and want to add a vertical foregrip you apply for an AOW and once approved you have it.
  6. correct they are not necessary however the ATF examiner requested it from me because of NJ law of building something that was once a pistol, rifle or shotgun. Many replies are why does the ATF care about state - the ATF examiners will not approve you for something illegal in your state, try to apply to form 1 a suppressor in NJ for example. its legal federally, your form 1 will be denied.
  7. So the notification emails go to my spam folder now, even though I have clicked not spam a bunch of times. the procedure is straight forward: 1) buy stripped lower receiver 2) retain copy of receipts, 4473 (scan this on genius scan when at your FFL) 3) fill out ATF form 1 on e-forms 4) in the electronic file section attach the 4473 --> this is to prove its never been a rifle, pistol or shotgun --> basically if its been a rifle or shotgun you are creating a sawed off shotgun per NJ Law --> if its been a pistol you are creating an assault weapon per NJ Law 5) send in your fingerprints --> do not send certified, they don't have someone always signing 6) send notification to CLEO 7) wait 30 days 8) approve = get engraving down first name, last name municipality , NJ 9) Enjoy
  8. facts. and im trying its just hard to find buy side finance jobs out of the tri-state area
  9. i applied for 4, 2 on aero m4e1s, 1 on a brownells brn 22 receiver and 1 on a foxtrot mike ar 9 lower receiver
  10. More to ensure i wasn’t wasting my time. Applying etc. the law is very self explanatory
  11. First sentence in my post "serialized polymer 80" https://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/frames/pfc9-serialized-frame-for-glock-19-23-prod115783.aspx
  12. Hi all, North Jersey here, built a serialized polymer 80, having a lot of issues with the trigger not resetting, and not firing on the pull and then I rack the slide, it will fire and then fire on the reset if it resets. Watched a ton of troubleshooting videos, but would like a gunsmith to take a look. Looking for a recommendation: Hopefully one that won't charge an arm and a leg, and one that wouldn't mind walking me through what i did wrong and the fix.
  13. Wanted to followup on this. Went back to my police station they called NJSP and were told use discretion for the date. She asked if I remember the day I picked them up if not they would put today’s date. I told her I did and that’s when they were dated. Picked up my birthday gift. And all ends well.
  14. Either way not a big deal. Lesson learned to review them, Ill swing by there get them extended and post dated and go from there..
  15. Absolutely agree with both you and Griz, I should of reviewed I just grabbed the folder they had ready for me and was in a hurry. However I did look back at a prior batch of handgun permits I got from Feb 2019, I got the voicemail saying my permits were approved and ready for pickup on Feb 4th, I picked them up Feb 14th, (how do i remember it was valentines day and I heard it for not coming straight home after work). I looked at both of the copies I retained from purchases, what date are they dated... Feb 14th
  16. I guess semantics on the Issued vs Issued to Me. Either way they still forgot to write the date in 5 out 6
  17. Hey guys, I am pretty annoyed, my girl got me a handgun for my birthday a SW 22 Victory, and I was going to pick it up this morning. I get to the FFL and basically we can't go any further since we realized the detective didn't write the issued date on the permit. I get home of course Permits isn't open on weekends. And look at the other 5 since I put in for 6 at once but when the Gov Murphy price increase was floating around and it looks like he dated one of them. He dated it 5/16/19 which is the date I got the e-mail saying they are ready for pickup please come at your convenience. I actually picked them up June 26th. (work, masters degree, getting to a place that is open till 4 PM on weeknights is a pain) So my first question is what date is SUPPOSED to go in that box, obviously when I go back to Permits I am going to say I think they should be the current date in the box since they made the mistake to not populate originally. And if they must backdate I think the 26th should of been used since that is when they were issued TO ME. If they force May 16th I basically have to get them all extended since 90 days was Aug 14th... Overall a frustrating situation. Any advice? or Knowledge around this would be appreciated. MG
  18. Thanks, don't love the 9 inch handguard w/ an 11.5 so 442 on Aero now, + 347 on BCM =789 (pre shipping and tax) 13% savings vs complete BCM this does not have me shopping around solely Aero's site and BCM's Aero: 242 Upper linked Complete BCG 129 Ambi CH 79.99 BCM: Barrel 269 Gas block 45 Tube 15 VFG 19
  19. Just 1 last thing anyone that says I cannot quote other cases state or federal because this is NJ - come on don't be ridiculous. Why is the supreme court holding the conceal carry case until the NY case is opined upon? --> Because that ruling may directly effect how the other courts review the NJ conceal carry case. Furthermore read about how state laws are challenged which end up at the Supreme Court. Look at what the plan is in Alabama and how they expect the new abortion bill to be blocked in lower courts due to FEDERAL Roe v Wade, and plan to appeal until it arrives at the Supreme Court's desk - at that time in order to consider the Alabama bill --> STATE LAW, they need to review against a federal opinion. Now this is different because the suing is occurring during the grace period before the law goes into affect - so no one is being arrested. But if someone did get arrested the same process would occur, if the STATE law being challenged is deemed invalid due to FEDERAL your conviction is overturned Flowers’s vs Florida So once again Thompson Center vs the US Government attorney James Bardwell's: lower court had held in a prior case that that set of parts was a SBR. The court agreed; that if the parts had only one use, to make a SBR, and a person possessed them all that was a SBR also. Then the supreme court: decided the [T/C] kit was not a SBR, nor was any set of parts where they could be used for a legitimate purpose, even if they could also be used to assemble a SBR. If you don't think I will pull that out in a heart beat you are crazy. The SUPREME COURT ruled on this. Substitute NFA, for SBR or AW, they are interchangeable. So now you want to play the psychological aspect I would LOVE to tell a NJ Jury this is Roe V Wade but with firearms. Id break their brains.
  20. Do you got a link. Looking For light weight
  21. I plan on building mine, pulling the trigger (pun intended) tonight on the upper. ordered the lower yesterday. 1.pdf
  22. THEY LITERALLY USE THE WORD CONVERT Now you are saying "into" must mean pieces become 1 thing. I am defining "into" a MW has it expressing a change of state. You own a screw driver or wrench you are in possession
