  1. Thanks. I think they're still using Identigo for printing. I had to pay $21 to finish the application for ONE permit but my friend didn't owe anything when applying for an FID and permits. Trying to figure out the fees.
  2. I looked around for a complete list of fees associated with 1) initially applying for a FID, fingerprinting and permits and 2) fees associated with applying for additional permit(s) at a later date (after you already have your FID). Reason I'm asking is, I just applied online for one permit paid $18 for the NJSP 212A Statutory Fee plus $3 for a Service Fee totaling $21 to complete the application. (And $2 was due at a later date for the permit.) My friend just applied for his initial FID plus 3 permits and he didn't pay anything at the time of the online application. I don't remember what I paid in 2016 for my initial FID, fingerprinting, permit and fees, but don't remember paying $18. Can anyone please list all of the associated fees involved with 1)initially applying for a FID, fingerprinting, and permits, vs 2) just applying for a permit(s) after you already have your FID? Or if it's listed somewhere, let me know. Thank you!
  3. I would consider that as well. Good point. It's easy if I order online. Just use his address for the shipping address.
  4. Yes. He still has them. Thanks for the advice.
  5. LOL. You're right. First thing I thought of.
  6. Thanks for the feedback. Sounds good to me.
  7. Thanks. So I can have some, but not all. Right? How did you know that info? Is it documented in the law?
  8. Back when they became illegal, I sent my over 10-round magazines to a friend living in Florida to get them out of my possession. What if these over 10- round magazines where disassembled and separated? Is that still illegal to possess only a part of a mag? At the moment, I don't want to loose/sell my these mags in case I move out of state as they cost a pretty penny and I'm afraid my friend in FL will eventually loose or misplace them. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  9. I've been to Shore Shot a few times. Every time I went there, I got sick that night or the day after and took 3-4 days to recover. Almost like flu symptoms. I'm thinking Garden State will be the same. That's why I'm joining Range 14.. Quite a drive for me and you need to go a few times a year for the (now $70/yr) membership to pay for itself, but hopefully I won't get sick any more.
  10. Thanks. I found an old sheet of red plastic used in the orthochromatic film boxes back in the day. Cutting some out of that will work great. EDIT: Here you go:
  11. Thanks! Seems easy enough to make one. I guess 1 1/2" PVC would work OK. Maybe the Sch 40 thicker PVC would be better. Probably wouldn't even need to cement the joints (or at least some of them) for easier storage. Thx. Also: I'd probably use coroplast instead of the cardboard backers. I was reading their website. Do they provide chamber flags or I need to buy them?
  12. Thanks for your opinion on Garden State and Shore Shot . At Range 14, do they have target stands to attach your targets to? And I think I read on Range-14's website that the minimum target distance is 15 yards? At the indoor range, I'm still doing 7 yards. I guess I'll have to get bigger targets for R-14!
  13. That's cool. Hopefully I'll be hitting up GSSC this week or next.
  14. Hey. Thanks for the welcome. What's your favorite range? I've only been to Shore Shot and will try Garden State very soon. If I keep getting a sore throat from indoor ranges, I'm going to start going to Range-14. Only $60 a year is great but it's over a 50 min drive.
  15. Does anyone know the latest on this range? I live in Tinton Falls and it would literally take me 10 minutes. Is the location near to where that fort gas station was on Hope Rd but closer to the tracks? EDIT: We took a drive through there today. There's new homes going up in that area south of that long AASKI Technology, building but a little closer to Hope Rd. Does not sound encouraging. Still trying to figure out which building the range was located.
  16. I'm digging up this year-old thread.... I also live in Tinton Falls. A few here recommended Garden State over ShoreShot. How's it better? I'm a new gun owner (one pistol so far: CZ 75 Compact PCR) and I've been to ShoreShot twice and both times, I got sick for a couple of days....sore throat, cold, etc. Just a coincidence? Really strange because I don't get sick often. They're a fairly newly renovated facility so I figure the HVAC and the filtering system is good as well. Both times, I went in winter which was cold inside, but it wasn't even that busy. Maybe I'm allergic to the ammo... lead, etc. I hope not. I even use latex gloves while cleaning firearms. That's why I'm going to Garden State next. I dealt with Ron Griggoletto at Legacy Firearms as well. He works out of his basement in Wall which is a 5 minute drive from me. His basement is a sight to be seen; pure firearm-related where ever you look down there. If you buy online, his FFL fees aren't bad. I would definitely use him again when I make my next purchase. I also met Steve at Monmouth Arms. Very nice guy as well. Every time I'm there, I find myself in great conversation for at least an hour... politics, firearms, you name it! Glad to be here! grazzie
