  1. I recently picked up 1 Remington 7 round and Kimber blued 7 round with the dimple on the follower. Those worked well initially with my SWC handloads, and the my OEM kimber CM mag failed. It was weird, the rounds that failed to load ended up chambering fine and firing later in my range session. I ran 100 rounds of factory and 1 think around 30 rounds of handloads, and what failed at 1 point fed well at a later point. I did remove some tension from the extractor, and noticed no abrasions on the rims of the casings after firing. I thin the tension was too high before, I just have to get more range time with her. I'll be loading some FMJ RN later this week and check those, but I'll be trimming to spec and yadda yaddda
  2. So, I had picked up a Kimber raptor 2, and shes been having FTF issues where the round would get stuck nose up in the chamber. I ordered 2 10 round CM mags and they had the same issue. This was using factory and handloads. The OEM mag has the CM shooting star on them, so I assume Chip McCormick makes those mags. I grabbed 2 mags from LGS by work a Remington and Kimber both have different followers when compared to my CM mags I have. I have to try it at the range, but just racking rounds through the 2 new mags, not 1 failure. I tried with the mage that came with the Raptor and the 1st round FTF Are CM mags crap?
  3. UPDATE! I contacted DR Walker at Randolph Eyecare, he said his father does the marksmanship eye work and he was in Fla. He said he would try, He did my regular rx work and tackled my split vision for hitting the range. I used my phone as a stand in and it looked promising. He was concerned about me getting dizzy with 2 different rx in 1 frame, but I told him it felt good and that it was only for range or competition. Today my glasses came from SportRX, I tried them out with my pistol. DAMN, I can pickup the front sight with ease now. Where with my regular glasses my sights were fuzzy no definition. With this new RX my left eye is normal long distance rx and the right eye is for mid distance I was able to see the sharpness of the sight and the fiber optic wasnt a fuzzy blob of green and when presented to my eye that sight was picked up fast.
  4. As the title states. I am looking for an optometrist in North Jersey Bergen or Hudson county or near by. I need to specs and my script isn't working well with focusing on the front site
  5. its a youtube gaming channel NeebsGaming Yeah its stainless
  6. about 2 days for nics and this happened
  7. I was pretty happy to get the call to pickup my permits from the extension, which took a week. I selected a Kimber Custom Shop Raptor 2, just waiting on the NICS to come back. I hearing 5 days also 1 to 3 days. Either way Im stoked to pick her up.
  8. My crimps above were my first,. My currents crimps are just enough, not a severe on the 38s and just a touch more on the 357 magnums
  9. The question was about the shorter casings i have though.
  10. I have a few 38 Special cases trimmed to 1.143 per one of my recipes, and others at 1.140. I did end up with some cases in the 1.138 area. Would these be safe to use or should I chuck them?
  11. Thanx for all the replies. I have made a few batches, and settled for a recipe that got me about 2" group at 23 yards. Trying others out now for 357. Im using the Lee beam scale for now, waiting on an Ohaus 505 to come. My powder measure has been getting me more consistent drops. I ran graphite through it and use the same action.
  12. I'll keep ball powders in mind thanx. Bench is in the basement, could be a winter thing. Ok But do they need to be dead on precise?
  13. Ill give it a go tomorrow. How do the crimps look in the picture? I forgot about COAL. Do you have to be dead on nuts with that or is a thou or 2 long ok?
  14. As the headline states, this is my time at reloading. I have Lee Breech Lock deluxe kit. The issue I have or issues. The funnel and the powder measure have tons of static cling. What can I do to get rid of the cling? The deluxe powder measure isn't getting consistent drops. Im using Power Pistol. Are there any tips? Scale I'm digging the lee scale so I bought a small digital scale at the show on Sunday. It calibrates well with the 50gram calibrate weight reading 50.001 grams I loaded 10 38 special with 6.2grains seated and crimped. While do my next 10 at 6.4grains I started to get reading all over. I started to doubt my 1st 10. I weighed a bullet and primed casing and tore to 0. Weighed my finished rounds they ranged from 5.6 to 6.7grains. I double checked the casings and since I have 2 different casings, I weighed and tore with the different casings.
  15. I had won an auction on Ebay for an RCBS RS2. I reached out to RCBS with question about the press. I wanted to know if a primer catcher was available for it. I mentioned I got it 2nd hand, he did say they dont warranty 2nd hand stuff but he would send me the primer catcher and he threw in the shell holder spring as well. I wasn't expecting that.
