  1. Although it's not a NJ establishment I believe West Side Rifle and Pistol Range is the last indoor gun range that exists in NYC of all places. I happen to know the guys and they are a great bunch of guys. I found out that they are also hurting like all other self owned businesses and someone mentioned they have a gofundme page currently. The fact that they are a 2A establishment and also the only one left in the NYC I figured i can let our forum members know about their page. They did not come to me about this but if I can help out a business/friend and spread the word I will do so and for a good bunch of guys. I understand that for some of us it's hard to donate but if you can that would be great. If you can also spread the word and post on your social media sites that would be great. I would do so but I don't have any accounts on FB, IG or other sites. If you do donate drop them a message that it was you heard about them via NJGF! https://www.gofundme.com/f/west-side-rifle-and-pistol-range-inc Thank you and sorry for asking......

  10. Hello everyone, brand new to the board so let me know if I'm in the right subforum or if I can have this better answered elsewhere. pagunforums.com anyone? lol Can anyone recommend an FFL in Pennsylvania that will pin weld breaks, pin stocks, and also accept transfers. I live in North Jersey so anything in North PA with low FFL and gunsmithing fees are preferable. I am running into problems with a shop refusing to send complete AR 15s to NJ FFLs. Any help is appreciated.
  11. Good morning ladies and gents. Really excited to announce the roll out of our latest project, one that has been in the making for quite some time however finally allowed with the new forum updates that we have done. NJGF's database of gun stores and ranges. I really wanted to create the Yelp or TripAdvisor for gun stores in NJ so here it is. =) It is still a work in progress however featured enough to warrant a general roll out. Please watch the video and help contribute to the database.
  12. Hey everyone, need your help. For a number of years I had an idea but we never fully implemented. When you are researching a gun store or a range, before you go there, what type of information are you looking for? What information do you wish was on their websites that is not already there? What information do you NEED to have? What information is Nice to have? What would be awesome to have? Thanks!

  14. Happy Saturday Everyone! I wanted to step in and introduce myself- I am an FFL in Manahawkin and have had the pleasure of working with many of you already! If one of you can point me in the right direction, I would like to be listed as a Vendor. I have paid my dues as a 12 month premiere member, not sure what else is needed from my end? I'll do my best to be active here, and answer any questions- but it's always best to reach out to me via email/phone/text. Looking forward to chatting with you all, Thank you! Mike
  15. I have machined a few of my handgun slides to accept a micro red dot. Currently there is a decent business available for machinists with the equipment to do the job properly. My question is. Can I accept slide only (no frame or receiver or other serialized parts) into my shop to CNC mill the slide for rmr? Or does this constitute being in the "gun business"? I have sent an e-mail to the ATF with this very same question but, I dont know when I will hear back from them. As far as I can read from any of the ATF frequently asked Q&A I can do such business. I could also for example make parts such as charging handles, handguards etc.. However, I dont want to be on the wrong side of the laws. I will not take any answer as an offer of legal advice. Merely asking the question to know if I should proceed with paying someone for a official interpretation of the law.
  16. Hey all. The last time I bought handguns, the internet was in it's infancy. You learned about new handguns from magazines and catalogues and you had to shop around different dealers for stock or have them order something for out of stock items. Fast forward to 2016 and everything imaginable is available online, including in-stock inventory. I imagine a good part of any FFL's business is transfers. So let me ask you this - if I'm looking for a particular model that is not in stock locally, is there any advantage to having the shop order directly from the manufacturer vs. buying from a big online site and just doing a transfer? I checked with two LGS authorized dealers and was told they didn't have the gun in stock but could get the model I was looking for in a week or so, but would have to be paid in full at time of order. The online dealers have multiple quantities in stock, and obviously would require full payment before shipping to the FFL. Either way, I'm kinda buying sight-unseen, which is OK given the circumstances. So is it six-of-one, half-dozen of another? I would like to support the local guys as much as possible (I image they make more on a direct sale with markup than with a transfer). Just curious if there's any advantage one way or the other? Thanks.

  18. As the title says, I typed in the the gun price request form, on a windows laptop, and got submission errors. used two different browsers, firefox and windows explorer. In case any dealers are reading: Looking for M&P prop series in 9mm. 5 inch version. SKU: 178048 or 178010 Want 17 rounds pinned to 15 but would take 10 rounders if that's what we could get.
  19. I’m very confused about an incident that happened last night. A friend's mom is a FL resident while he has lived in NJ for the past 15 years. Sometime over the past 3 years, she gave him one of her shotguns. However, they did it all off paper, because he didn’t know the laws regarding interstate transfers. He does have an FID card, so he is somewhat familiar with the laws here. That being said, he wants to be in total compliance in case he needs to use it for self defense, so that he doesn’t then get charged with illegal possession. I told him the proper procedure is to go with his mom to an FFL and perform the transfer there, with COE forms and NICS check, since his mom is out of state and cannot transfer him a long gun without going to an FFL. He called RayCo in Merchantville yesterday, since his mom is up visiting, and they told him that he doesn’t need to do it at an FFL and all they have to do is fill out a COE form. I had two blank copies already printed out from when I went to the Armory this past weekend (just in case I found something good) so he stopped down last night to get them. The section for “seller” states nothing about the seller needing to be a NJ resident. The section for “buyer” clearly states that the buyer must be a resident of NJ, otherwise the transfer needs to take place at an FFL. Am I misinformed about the law? Can a NJ resident purchase a long gun from an out of state resident in a private transfer with just a COE form and without needing to use an FFL/NICS? Even more concerning is that if I am right about the fact that all interstate transfers have to go through FFL/NICS, RayCo gave him the wrong information and he could get into some serious trouble, legally, because of it.
  20. I decided to grab some cheap AR parts from PSA a few weeks ago and have it transferred trough Jersey Target Sports. Well, the guys over at PSA screwed up a few details. But Henry contacted them, fixed the issues, gave them an education on the finer points of NJ transfers and got my lower quickly. I couldn't be happier. Great job bro, and thanks for fixing all the BS.
  21. So bought a ruger 10/22 on thanksgiving day, about 5:30pm, and knew they would run the NICS on Friday when the state opened.... No call from DSG on Friday, which I knew might happen because the state gets over run with NICS checks because of the sales... Went to Dicks this morning to get something else, and went into the lodge to inquire about the NICS check...the lodge associate called the manager and they looked in the NJSP portal... Fail # 1- he said my check came back yesterday morning.... And they never called me... Kinda new that was gonna happen.... MAJOR FAIL- During the whole interaction today, (I did leave with my rifle) they never checked my ID to confirm who I was! I just told them my name and they gave me a gun....... They shouldn't be able to sell guns
  22. I received my FFL and NJFL. I now need to file so my buisness can collect sales tax. Not sure where I go online to set this up. Step by step instructions would be helpful. I don't want to file under the wrong thing. My business is a LLC. Thanks
  23. I am setting up my home based gunsmithing business in NJ. I went in front of my towns zoning board and was approved to run this business from my home. What should be my next steps? Should I apply for my NJ license from the state police or FFL first? or should I apply to both at the same time? When should I set up my LLC? Thanks, Bob
  24. Could someone (preferably someone who has already obtained a home base ffl) tell me step by step instructions on what they did? And do you set up shop before or after your atf interview? Do you need to have a llc, insurance ect before you get your license or after? Answers to these type of questions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance
  25. Howard got the jump on me but I have to tell you my story. The Franklin Borough Police Department (Sussex County) is awesome; A true exception to the horror stories that I keep reading. Only ten days to get this signed, sealed, and delivered. It was a pleasure from picking up the forms and on. Wendy who handled the intake paperwork is very pleasant… on the ball. The officer (Sergeant?) who handles the internal stuff obviously works hard and was polite and nice to talk with. The Chief runs a tight ship for sure. So yes, in spite of potential obstacles outside of your police department, 10-days can be done. I was shocked when I got the call since I was prepared for another horror story. Mastodon Ammo & Camo; great shop, great people. Joe is a character but great to work with. I will bring my business there... thinking now maybe a .22 pistol or perhaps a long gun of some sort, ammo you bet. FYI, if faced with waiting for your fingerprint appointment at a MorphoTrak site, look at scheduling in Irvington. I was able to call and get a slot that was a cancellation. I don’t recommend parking at the municipal lot…. Hint, adjacent parking for pharmacy… make sure you buy something
