  1. For those of you that have inquired, my company will be offering our Traumatic Injury Management 1 course on March 22nd, 2016 at 1900 hours. This course is designed to give the student a primer in trauma medicine, and get hands on with a variety of the types of tourniquets, trauma bandages, and bleeding control agents so that they can make an educated decision on what they would prefer to carry for their personal medical kits. We are also pleased to announce that Traumatic Injury Management 2 (TIM2) has been released. This course picks up where TIM1 left off and starts with a quick review of the major concepts, and goes right into all hands on, scenario driven learning so students can shake out their kits, adapt what they are carrying in order to cover most possible emergencies and also learn techniques to "MacGyver" their way through an emergency should you find yourself in a non-permissive environment. The first public offering of TIM 2 will be on March 24th, at 1900 hours. TIM1 is a prerequisite for attendance. It will be announced tomorrow on our facebook page, but sworn LEO's will receive a 50% discount on tuition to TIM1. I have a lot of family and close friends that are LEOs and I want to do everything I can to make sure they get home to their families and loved ones at the end of their tour. Please visit www.alphaomegatrainingsolutions.com for registration purposes. If you have questions, please let me know. There are several forum members that have attended TIM1 if you have any questions regarding the overall course, I know I prefer recommendations before I shell out my money to someone that I'm not sure of.
  2. I own and operate a small training business, Alpha Omega Training Solutions, which primarily focuses on Fire and EMS training. I recently developed a course that combines my background in emergency services with my passion for firearms and want to tell you about it. Management of Traumatic Injuries is built around the core of "what if" occurs on the firing range. Many shooters have realized that in this sport we can be injured, whether by an AD/ND, squib load causing a catastrophic failure in a weapon or a series of other issues. Yet most of the individuals that I have spoken to, either don't carry medical kits with them, or went out and purchased a kit but have no idea how to use it other than the standard "Well I watched a YouTube video on this once". I don't know about you, but I don't want someone doing a needle decompression of my chest if they've only ever watched a YouTube video. Want to learn how to use all of the stuff that you might be carrying but don't want to spend the money to buy it all again once you use it in training? Then come to the course and get hands on experience with it. I am NOT selling first aid kits, there is a discussion on what should and shouldn't be in the kit, most of the commercially available devices will be demonstrated and allow students to have Hands On practice with them so they can decide what works best for them versus what XYZ company says is the best product. We will be holding a class on June 5th from 1900-2300 hours in Piscataway. We are limiting the class size to 8 students in order to increase the hands on skills time. The class cost is $100. We will be covering items such as tourniquet use, both commercially available and create your own, managing a sucking chest wound and thoracic trauma (chest seals) hemostatic agents (Quick Clot, Celox, etc) and a series of other topics. This course is based off of research, science, and field experience. The two instructors both come from strong EMS backgrounds and one is a combat medic with deployment experience. Course completion certificates will be issued, however they do not constitute "certification" in any of the skills taught. Any questions, let me know. If we end up with more than the 8 students, we can run another class on another night or even a weekend. The class location will be the Piscataway Fire School, located at 171 Baekeland Ave. Piscataway. It is off of Rt. 287 and in an industrial park on the Middlesex, NJ border. It shows up in Google Maps for those of you using it. 1. checko 2. tzullo 3.njpilot? 4.redriver II 5.Damjan 6.CPRPE 7.Blake 8.Snook
