  1. Hello, new owner of a handgun in NJ. Had a question for all of you experts out there! I keep seeing all these different things online so I have an suv so the trunk area is accessible to the back seat area. From my understanding, it needs to be locked in a case and its fine to be in the trunk of my suv? Also my other question.. the ammo.. that needs to be in a separate case? Does it need to have a lock on it or can it just be a bag with a zipper?
  2. So I've got my FID and am looking to purchase a replica MP40 airgun for target practice. This is the gun in question I'm particularly looking at https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Umarex_Legends_MP40_CO2_BB_Submachine_Gun/4312 The gun itself is capable of full auto firing at roughly 450fps. It also includes a 52rd pellet mag. I've read up on the airgun laws and know that airguns are considered firearms under NJ state law, so does that mean every firearm law applies to airguns also or are there exceptions to them where you can purchase any airgun as long as you have an FID? Thanks
  3. Referenced in other threads is a news/law story about the LAPD's overreaching to seize firearms: http://michellawyers.com/former-police-officer-files-racketeering-lawsuit-against-los-angeles-police-department/ http://michellawyers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Complaint.pdf http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/08/johannes-paulsen/ca-vet-seeks-justice-after-lapd-destroys-his-700k-gun-collection/ The story came out in 2015 but I can't find anything newer about how the case was adjudicated. Does anyone know more about this lawsuit? I am curious about such cases but often there is little followup after the initial court filing, especially if a lawsuit went against the gun control people.
  4. looking to find out some information about the firearms purchaser id card application process (waiting time, any extra forms to fill out, etc)? anyone have any good experiences? i will be handing in my application and just want to know what i should be expecting. thanks!
  5. THE KRISS VECTOR From wiki: "The Vector's action, the so-called KRISS Super V System (KSVS), is an articulated mechanism which allows the bolt and an inertia block to move downward into a recess behind the magazine well." so the action is not above the pistol grip. NJ LAW And the NJ law says "i. A semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: (1) A folding or telescoping stock;(2) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;(3) A bayonet mount;(4) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and (5) A grenade launcher; So does a bullpup's pistole grip count as one of these things. Since its pistol grip is not below the action. So you can buy any out of state tavor with only modifying the magazine and not the flash hidder. So the Kriss vector's Pistol grip is not beneath the action. The pistol grip is behind the action so it does not quilify as being "a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon." Does this mean that one is legally allowed to have a pistol grip and a folding stock on this rifle? Why not?
  6. Bullpup rifles are defined as "a modern firearm configuration in which the action and magazine are located behind the trigger group and alongside the shooter's face, so there is no wasted space for the buttstock as in conventional designs." And the NJ law says "i.
  7. Sorry about another one of these questions. I know there are a million of these. Are 15+ round detachable magazines legal to own in new jersey? Because bolt action and pump action rifles do not have any restriction, so can I have a 30 round magazine for my bolt action? I am thinking about this because of that pump action troy industries ar. Are Nj resisedence even able to order off line 15+ round AR mags? Because if they cannot where the heck should they buy the magazines. In addition, I want to pin my own magazines.
  8. Hello all. I was hoping to get the opinion of the forum on my situation... I legally own several handguns in NJ. My job has forced me overseas temporarily. Due to NJ being a ridiculous state, my wife and I have decided that we are going to make our permanent residence in the US somewhere other than NJ (likely Vermont). Is there anything I must do in order to legally take my guns with me out of NJ? I know VT is pretty relaxed with their laws compared to NJ, but I wanted to get the opinion and advice from NJGF as it has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and tips since I bought my first handgun a couple years ago. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you very much!
  9. Hello, I am new to this forum board. Nice to meet you all folks. Anyways, a dear friend of mine bought an air rifle as a gift from an online retailer (Pyramyd Air, Amazon, etc; don't remember which one). From what I was told, it never used to work, but apparently, she said it works now and the air rifle is already on its way to her relative's house in NJ (the relatives and her are still residents of Vermont and will change residency soon). When she found out the absurd law of air rifles need FID card also, she called the online retailer numerous times to cancel the delivery and order. However, it's already on the way to relative's house. Her relatives has the option of "rejecting" the package and sending it back the same day unopened. Should her relatives just reject it or just keep it? They don't want any trouble in the future or anything, but would like for me to give them an opinion as they trust me. From what I understand, the retailer should not be able to allow orders to NJ for air rifles? Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing your opinions.
  10. At the End the Fed (Federal Reserve System) Rally of Saturday, May 18, 2013 Edd Skitz, a local liberty activist, open carried a handgun in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. http://theinternationallibertarian.blogspot.com/2013/05/open-carrying-gun-in-philadelphia.html
  11. So, we all know how tragic this past weekend has been for Newton, CT. I send my prayers out to all of the families affected by the massacre. For us here in NJ however, do you think our local PD's will be using this as an opportunity to delay the FID and PP process even further??? Most townships here treat us as criminals and will wipe their butts clean with our FID/PP apps before they approve anything. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Here in Linden, one forum user is well past the 200-day mark. I just past the 30-day mark this past Saturday, and I'm afraid to even call and ask on my app's status. My references have yet to receive their letters. I can just imagine the disgruntled attitude I'll be given for wanting a gun during this time. Only if I had disbanded my BS liberal socialist views when I turned 18, then I'd be swimming in firearms already... Times are tough.
