Up for sale is my Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum. The rifle is in very good condition and, like the 45-70 that I've also got listed, has been pretty much a “safe queen” since I bought it three years ago. The factory sights have been upgraded to an XS Sights ghost ring set along with one of their extended rails. Price is SOLD Located in the Princeton/Hillsborough area Transfer fee is on the buyer Preferred FFLs for the transfer would be either Tier One in Union, Cheyenne Gunsmith & Firearms in Manville, or Howell Gun Works in Howell This gun (and the 45-70) will go on consignment at Howell Gun Works on May 25 if they don’t sell here before then Pictures available upon request I’ve got some leftover ammo that I can include in the sale for an additional cost (I'll see what I have and update this post) Link to Marlin’s description: https://www.marlinfirearms.com/lever-action/model-1894/model-1894-44-magnumspecial
So I picked up an older Model 60 from the 70s. I thought the barrel was canted since the front sight was horribly off, till I discovered that the barrel was fine, it was just the band that holds the magazine tube in place was loose. Does anybody here have any experience with these older Marlins? I'm not exactly sure if there's a screw or something I'm missing that will keep the damn thing in place. It's pretty wobbly. For reference, here's the schematic for the rifle. It's a little different from the newer 60s: http://www.survivalprimer.com/PaulsGuns/marlin-glenfield60.gif Also, if I am missing a part, could I possibly use parts from a newer Model 60 for it? Thanks.
