I purchased a Mossberg 500 Cruiser this past Friday. It has a 5+1 capacity and accepts 2 3/4 and 3" shells. So today I took a trip to my parents house to do some shooting out in the back woods and test my new shotgun out. Here's my issue: I could not get any more than 1 shell in the chamber and 2 in the tube (for a total of 3). It seemed that once I got the first shell in, racked it, the inserted the next two, if I tried to insert a third the shell seemed to stop. I couldn't figure it out but i didn't mess with it. I just shot a box like that. this is the first shotgun of my own so I was wondering if you more knowledgeable folks could lend some thoughts or assistance as to why this might have happened?

Just purchased a Mossberg 500 from JT Custom Guns and I want to say it was an excellent transaction experience. Solid FFL and will definitely do business again. He went above and beyond trying to make sure I got my shotgun and hounded NICS for me. A real class act and very knowledgeable! Thanks Jack!

A few years back, when I first got into firearms, I knew I had to make sure my collection was well rounded before I started adding the fun guns. So after my first handgun, I followed that up with a used Mossberg 500 12 ga. When I purchased it, I didn't notice the small dent in the magazine tube. I have the 8 round tube, and the dent is located toward the muzzle end and it blocks the follower from traveling all the way to the end of the tube and prevents me from loading the last round. I've been watching Brownell's and Midway, but the 8 round tube has been on back order for well over a year. I'm not in a rush to get it fixed, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to repair it? Replacing the tube would be best, and would only be ~$35, but lack of availability has me wondering if I can fix it.
