Hunters Helping the Hungry - New Grant for 2020-21 Deer Hunting Season

Recommended Posts

If you are a hunter, I hope you're aware of Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH). It's a NJ-based 501c3 non-profit that facilitates the donation by NJ hunters of venison to NJ food banks (Norwescap in NW NJ and others) by utilizing a network of participating butchers. HHH does great work! Last year alone, they contributed 25,307 pounds of venison (that's 101,228 servings)!

This year, they got grant money enabling them to waive the hunters' processing fees for some larger deer. So, in this incredibly tough year, where so many people have lost business or employment income due to COVID-19 closures and restrictions, this grant money provides a little extra incentive for hunters to participate in this worthy program. Here's an article with details: http://www.eregulations.com/newjersey/hunting/hunters-helping-hungry-needs-help/

And here's the link to Hunters for the Hungry (btw, they also take Paypal donations directly through their website which is used to defray the costs for participating hunters): http://www.huntershelpingthehungry.org/

And if you're a hunter residing in another state, I urge you to do your own research - apparently, these hunter donation programs are pretty common throughout the U.S.
