You're All Going To Be Rich!!! Mnuchin says $600 checks will be sent out ‘next week’

"House Republicans reject effort to increase stimulus relief checks to $2,000 despite Trump's request
On Thursday, House Republicans voted against a measure that would increase COVID-19 relief payments from $600 to $2,000 after President Trump asked Congress to amend the $900-billion stimulus package, which was passed earlier this week. The update to the bill, which House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer sought to pass, failed to meet unanimous consent. House Republicans tried to revisit the foreign aid funding included in the omnibus bill, which was ultimately rejected by Democrats. Further consideration of the veto message will be considered on Monday, when the House will re-adjourn."

Guess what that is? Both sides are swinging it over the table, saying my di*k is bigger than yours.

Hoyer knew he wouldn't get unanimous consent, his game was just to make the Repubs look like the aholes, cause he knew what the Headline would be.

The Repubs wanted to carve out some "pork", but the Dems wanted no part of that. Bet you won't here that part on CNN.

This. The “new” bill just increased the $600 but left everything else in place. All the Pork.  Republicans wanted a lot of that stuff (at a minimum the stuff that didn’t help them) removed. Nobody wanted that.

and yes. Narrative is “republicans voted against increase” because...media.

So if it gets approved, which tax year would it hit?  The year it was put on the desk, or the year it passed into law?

got hit at both ends with dependent adult kids and dependent elderly. May need to re-file several  of last year returns.

they will use your last reported taxes.  If 2019 was better for you, delay your filing

Yep, they use your last filed taxes (which will be 2019 for most people) and look at your AGI. For the last stimulus check, they looked at either 2018 or 2019, depending on if you filed your 2019 yet.

We got nothing out of the last stimulus round because of the 2018 tax return. I finally got wifey to do her final punch out and retire in the end of 2019, so this year has been the first full year of retirement for us with reduced income. But they'll look at 2019 to make their determination again, and we'll get nothing..

There's your wonderful government in action, the people paying the bulk of the taxes are the ones NOT getting some sort of a rebate/stimulus, while the people who pay zilch in taxes, get the maximum benefit. Isn't Socialism wonderful?

Here you go, Trump rolled over, and signed the complete pork filled bill!!  What a let down and ball-less wonder...

Remember this in 2018?

President Trump on Tuesday blasted the bipartisan omnibus spending bill passed by Congress that wrapped up COVID relief in it, calling for larger stimulus checks and arguing no one in Congress had read the bill.

The face-off is reminiscent of 2018, when Trump threatened to veto an omnibus bill "nobody read." He ultimately ended up not vetoing but promised at the time never to sign such legislation again.

"But I say to Congress: I will never sign another bill like this again. I’m not going to do it again. Nobody read it. It’s only hours old. Some people don’t even know what is in -- $1.3 trillion -- it’s the second-largest ever."

Now, today, repeat performance from 2018:

....."President Trump on Sunday signed a $900 billion pandemic relief package which will include $600 direct checks checks, abandoning his immediate demand that Congress go back to the drawing board and provide $2,000 checks, and instead encouraged them to vote on a separate bill to "increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000."

"I am signing this bill to restore unemployment benefits, stop evictions, provide rental assistance, add money for PPP, return our airline workers back to work, add substantially more money for vaccine distribution, and much more," Trump said in a Sunday night statement.

The pandemic relief package is coupled with $1.4 trillion in funds to run the government through September and includes other end-of-session priorities such as increases in food stamp benefits and funding for the transit system. Plus, tons of pork, which we noted last week.

As President of the United States it is my responsibility to protect the people of our country from the economic devastation and hardship that was caused by the China Virus.
I understand that many small businesses have been forced to close as a result of harsh actions by Democrat-run states. Many people are back to work, but my job is not done until everyone is back to work.
Fortunately, as a result of my work with Congress in passing the CARES Act earlier this year, we avoided another Great Depression. Under my leadership, Project Warp Speed has been a tremendous success, my Administration and I developed a vaccine many years ahead of wildest expectations, and we are distributing these vaccines, and others soon coming, to millions of people.
As President, I have told Congress that I want far less wasteful spending and more money going to the American people in the form of $2,000 checks per adult and $600 per child.
As President I am demanding many rescissions under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. The Act provides that, “whenever the President determines that all or part of any budget authority will not be required to carry out the full objectives or scope of programs for which it is provided, or that such budget authority should be rescinded for fiscal policy or other reasons (including termination of authorized projects or activities for which budget authority has been provided), the President shall transmit to both Houses of Congress a special message” describing the amount to be reserved, the relevant accounts, the reasons for the rescission, and the economic effects of the rescission. 2 U.S.C. § 683.
I will sign the Omnibus and Covid package with a strong message that makes clear to Congress that wasteful items need to be removed. I will send back to Congress a redlined version, item by item, accompanied by the formal rescission request to Congress insisting that those funds be removed from the bill.
I am signing this bill to restore unemployment benefits, stop evictions, provide rental assistance, add money for PPP, return our airline workers back to work, add substantially more money for vaccine distribution, and much more.
On Monday the House will vote to increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000. Therefore, a family of four would receive $5,200. Additionally, Congress has promised that Section 230, which so unfairly benefits Big Tech at the expense of the American people, will be reviewed and either be terminated or substantially reformed.
Likewise, the House and Senate have agreed to focus strongly on the very substantial voter fraud which took place in the November 3 Presidential election.
The Senate will start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000, repeals Section 230, and starts an investigation into voter fraud.
Big Tech must not get protections of Section 230!
Voter Fraud must be fixed!
Much more money is coming. I will never give up my fight for the American people!
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

I found this, but looking for more sources at this time.

That's flying around all over the Internet, but no one has read what it means. It helps Congress when a President tries to change a spending Bill.

The House has voted 275-134 to increase COVID-19 relief checks to $2,000 under the CASH Act, achieving the 2/3 majority needed to pass. 44 Republicans voted for it along with nearly all of the Democrats.

The bill will now go to the Senate where it will likely suffer a swift death.

The worst part is I have to do hex first out of the two octals.  50.   Then I have to convert it to decimal, easy enough.   Then, since I know the special characters and such get up to 64 to get into the letters.   So I take the result minus 64 to get the letter.  If the result is greater than 26, it's lower case, so I subtract 26 plus 6, in this case its upper so that extra bit is not required.  I then do a1, b2, c3, etc on the keyboard in front of me.

This is how I learned to do it 35+ years ago.  Now there's a million calculators, I'm sure.
