I happened across this on Politifact.com as I was researching another topic. Politifact seems to be unbiased, but please let me know if anyone has info to the contrary.
The subject concerns a Providence City, Rhode Island council resolution claiming that semi-auto weapons were designed for military use. Another knee jerk biased resolution based on conjecture. Assuming of course that the information contained herein is accurate!
The subject heading of the article is this:
"Semi-automatic weapons, whether pistol or rifle, were designed for use by the military on the battlefield."
Providence City Council on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 in a council resolution

I'm a firm believer that the inoculation of the 2nd amendment is only a prelude to a further erosion or complete abandonment of (whats left of) the Constitution.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Good for you. And welcome aboard.
I started out wanting just one pistol. I'm now in the middle of redoing my garage so I can continue playing with firearms on my lathe and milling machine. So yeah, it goes that way.
Hello All,
New here form New Jersey and new to firearms, got my FPID back in Sept 2020. ~2mo from application to receiving permit in the mail. So far spent over $2k on training classes ~30 hours and shooting nearly 5000 rounds and counting. Traded in one range (golf) for another range and trying to go at least once a week either for a class or if not, for range time. I was an avid golfer and haven’t touched a golf club at all in 2020. Maybe 2021 is the year to get back in but running around timed drills has got me hooked.
Would love to post pictures but fear it’ll just get inventoried when ATF comes knocking. It seems after becoming a responsible firearms owner, I feel like I’ve become a second class citizen fearful of becoming a criminal just because I own such items, which can become illegal tomorrow. Maybe banning guns will not be a good thing, look at how prohibition turned out.
