Xtors 327 Posted February 24, 2021 For those that don't wanna spend DBAL dollars, does anyone have experience with the Holosun L321? From what I've read, it's a bit too tall for top-rail mounting and the IR illuminator only goes out to about 100 yards. Also sounds like there have been "out of the box" reliability issues but if it works at first, it generally doesn't have problems over time. https://holosun.com/index/product/detail/id/165.html
JackDaWack 2,894 Posted February 26, 2021 What is your application? There are stand alone illuminators from great companies that are more than half the price, and go well beyond 100 yards. Surefire makes the v1 vampire that was tested to 150yards and is well under 300 bucks.

One day down the road perhaps might get some NV, in which case the IR laser and illuminator would also be nice to have. Not an operator by any stretch, more thinking about gaps in the gear, nice-to-haves, and cool factor (flame suit on).

Screw the flame suit. If you have the money and you want it for your setup, get it. People spend a LOT more money on things that are a lot more useless...
High Exposure 5,634 Posted March 21, 2021 If you want it get it. But, without NODs, you’re better off getting a vis laser only and spending the money you saved on ammo and training. Get NODs first, then get IR las/illum. Or at least at the same time. On 2/26/2021 at 5:11 PM, 124gr9mm said: People spend a LOT more money on things that are a lot more useless... There is very little in the gun world more useless than an IR laser with no night vision capability.
