Does anyone have headspace gauges that I could borrow?

7.62 by what, if it is 39 i called all over this state without success but i did find a tool and die co that would make them at the tune of 135.00

 

i used a spent case to check mine.

I have two recent mosins, both octogon reciever. one is still in the cosmo. is it matching #s gun?

if so odds are you will be ok with bolt fit.

wait until you shoot it it kick's like a mule. I just purchased butt pad for it made specifcally for mosin rifle. It is a blast too shoot best part is it is cheap ammo..also corrosive so make sure you clean after every outing.

It may have been forcematched. Not sure. It's been renumbered - I think, though it's numbered with the Cyrillic ZH before the number. Barrel, Bolt, and Butt Cap all match

I have a set of coin type gauges made by Okie Headspace Gauges that I'll gladly make available to you. I just got them this week and used them to check out a Finnish Mosin (M-39) that I picked up recently. The nice thing about them is that you don't need to disassemble the bolt and remove the firing pin and extractor like you do for some of the other types.
