SuperGuy185 16 Posted October 9, 2021 Hey all, I’m a brand new gun owner and I just bought my first M&P 2.0 9mm. Is it normal for the magazines to be stuck/stiff? I mean like really stiff as in I can’t even load a full magazine I only got 9 rounds in and I tried for what seems like an hour. Any tips of getting those magazines to loosen up? Thanks! JohnnyB 4,323 Posted October 9, 2021 Are they 10 rounds from S&W or were they altered to hold 10 rounds?

FishNHard 145 Posted October 9, 2021 I have an M&P Core in 9mm when we were allowed 15rds i hard a hard time with 15 so i took the mag apart and clipped a little bit of the bottom of the spring and it worked fine , i bought 7 10rd mags 5 were fine 2 are hard to get 10 in the mag i may do the same on them as well. SuperGuy185 16 Posted October 9, 2021 Ordered one of these. It’s coming Tuesday!
Bomber 1,091 Posted October 9, 2021 Another reason I like my S&W SD9 Academy version. Mags are high quality polished SS and hold 10rds no problem.
Mr.Stu 1,916 Posted October 9, 2021 The springs will lose some of their tension after being worked a few times. When you get your uplula, squeeze in that 10th round and let the mag sit for a week or two. It will get easier. There is also a bit of a knack to loading mags. I can typically fill new ones by hand, but I have been doing it for close to 30 years.
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted October 10, 2021 I always liked the fact some of my Beretta handguns came with a "speed loader". I use it across all my firearms, it will be money well spent when you can enjoy shooting without sore thumbs.
