EdF 323 Posted October 14, 2021 Is anybody shooting any of the 5.7x28 handguns? Should I want one? Or, is it just that it's new and unusual that makes want it?
EdF 323 Posted October 19, 2021 OK . . . How about opinions from people who HAVEN"T tried them . . . It's not like this forum to not have an opinion!
Displaced Texan 11,654 Posted October 19, 2021 Ammo is expensive, and kind of hard to find.
High Exposure 5,635 Posted October 19, 2021 It’s not a new cartridge. It’s been around for a while - developed in late 80’s. Put in service in 1990 by a few militaries/agencies. As a plinking cartridge it’s fun and shoots flat, but it’s expensive and hard to find. As a defensive cartridge, it’s trash. Lots of better options out there. Bklynracer 1,259 Posted October 19, 2021 Haven't shot the Ruger, have shot the FN, Fun to shoot, not a must have, But if I was able to get one cheap I would.
Krdshrk 3,872 Posted October 19, 2021 Ruger 57 is pretty nice. Flat shooter. FN Five-seveN is actually kinda finicky from what I've seen/read.
Stuntman22 16 Posted October 20, 2021 I own both the Fn Pistol and the PS90. I enjoy both. Ammo is tough to find & expensive. Cheapest I've seen it lately is a dollar a round. Mostly FN & American Eagle. you can go thru ammo quite quickly..
EdF 323 Posted October 20, 2021 Thanks gang . . . I hadn't looked at ammo yet (Can't tell you why!) but you have slacked my interest some . . .
Displaced Texan 11,654 Posted October 20, 2021 I am to the understanding that the FN ammo is the stuff to buy. American Eagle I am told is loaded light. Experts can chime in on that.
