Never been to an indoor range before...

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Just got my FID approved! :yahoo:

Only ever went clay shooting a couple times in the last decade or so. Looking forward to trying out some handguns nearby.

How do you guys go about picking a "home range"? Is there anything in particular I should be aware of?

I'd also recommend Gun For Hire for your first visit.

The staff is extremely helpful and they'll take as much time with you as necessary.

Just be prepared for things to be much louder than they were shooting clays outdoors.  If you're shooting next to someone with a large caliber pistol, a shotgun, or an AR/AK with a muzzle brake, you'll experience a lot of feedback...

It looks like I'll try to pay Gun for Hire a visit once I have my own gun. Seems RTSP will let me rent with just the FID. They're both about the same distance from me.

I'm prepared for doubling up thanks to other advice here :) I'll try to squeeze some time for a trip during the week.

Well that was fun!

I just went through the beginner 1 on 1 course at gun for hire and definitely got the impression that it is an excellent facility.

It was also nice to finally put something through my Beretta 92X :) The staff was very welcoming and professional all around. I'll more than likely be back when I have a chance.
