Clinton WMA question/observation

I haven't been to this range in a long time and I was always told that the only rifles that are allowed were .22LR and some muzzle loaders. Did the rules change? I was just on the NJDEP website and saw this.....

• Centerfire Rifle includes all firearms listed above for muzzleloading and centerfire rifles for up to and including .30 caliber. This includes ammunition in the .30 caliber family such as .308 and 30-06.

I assume that the rules have changed? I did notice that your target has to be 30" from the deck.

Yes, you can shoot rifles up to .30 caliber class - that includes .308 Win, 30/30, 30-06, etc.

.223 Rem & 5.56 are less than .30 so they are GTG too.

Steel spinners for .22 are allowed at 25 yards. No other steel targets are allowed.

Back in January last year they refurb'd the rifle range - can shoot up to/including .30 caliber there now (That includes rounds like .308, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, 30-06, etc.).

January is a bit tough - we've got SHOT Show coming up as well as the NJ Outdoor Show.  Maybe the 30th - will keep that option open for now.

Those ranges had upgrades done they did nice job on our local WMA.

Sorry!  Wasn't planning on it.  I still need to renew my Hunting license - been tied up with work and SHOT Show.
