They work, they hold zero - not the greatest but they work.  If you're mounting on an AR you need the riser or the version that comes with it otherwise the sight will be too low.

My brother had one on his 9mm SBR for a while. It was fine for plinking.

I use on on a 22 pistol, works fine. I am still using the same battery from new 4 years ago. Though in fairness I have a few 22s so it isn't in constant use but it is in the rotation.
