Outdoor Ranges in PA

Recommended Posts

Hello all.. I live 5min from the Burlington Bristol Bridge and have a choice of NJ gun ranges or PA gun ranges. I'm looking for an outdoor rifle range with the possibility of an indoor pistol range. I want to be able to shoot AR's, shotguns and pistol. I would also like to have defensive training at the facility with military and or LEO instructors. If anyone belongs or know of any organization or club with these amenities could you drop a name and phone number?! would appreciate it.. thank you!

I have a NJ resident hunting license and can use any of the state rifle or shotgun ranges free of charge. rifle ranges anything no larger than .30 caliper ( 30-06 and .308 allowed). pistols are not allowed on the range. I had a lengthy talk with an employee from nj fish and wildlife on cartridges that can be fired( I got into a little bit on an argument with another hunter over practicing with 5.56 instead of .223, their both practically the same round). I received confirmation 5.56 are allowed to be practiced with. you'll need to bring you own targets and target stands. Shotguns can be fired at pistol ranges for patterning and sighting in as long as your not shooting skeet, those are what the shotgun ranges are for. No more than 3 rounds can be loaded into the magazine.

I also have a PA non-resident game range permit. Nearest one to me is in Pike County 25, 50, 100 yards.

Last I checked PA game ranges your allowed to have up to 6 rounds in a magazine. You're also allowed to bring pistols to the PA game ranges ( 6 round rule still applies).

PA game range permits and hunting licenses are valid from either june or july 1 to may 31 or june 30 the following year.

    • I very seriously doubt this has anything to do with terrorism.    1) Harbor pilots are VERY seriously vetted, and highly trained. Not to mention extremely well paid. My experience knowing a few of them, and knowing how they are recruited and screened tells me that there is a slim to highly unlikely chance that a harbor pilot would have participated in anything like that.    2) Maintenance of foreign flag ships is well known to be dubious. Especially these days. These were NOT US flag, Jones act sailors. It was (to my understanding) a largely Indian crew on that ship, with a Ukrainian Captain. Indian crews are not exactly known for being stellar.    3) The bunkers (fuel) these ships use is ‘Bunker C’, which is a heavy, dirty fuel oil that can, and usually is, pretty contaminated. This stuff ain’t your car grade gasoline or diesel fuel. It’s nasty.   It requires nearly constant filter changes and maintenance to the engine/generators. The ship took on fuel prior to departing port, which would stir up all kinds of shit in the fuel tanks, which would contribute to particulates in the fuel lines/filters.    4) I’d say the posting of the chief engineer for Maserek above was pretty spot on as far as chain of events.    This was a shitty accident, with horrible timing and outcome. Not a terror attack.
    • I saw Lara's interview on Bannon's War Room, and that gave me pause for thought. Her conjecture depends primarily on the veracity of her sources. Regardless, if it's not applicable in any way to this ship disaster, the methods described seem valid to me. And worthy of consideration for the future. As I said before, IMO something is coming.
