GFarra31 4 Posted April 7, 2022 There is a S&W SW22 Victory Performance Center on gunbroker.com that is interesting me. It has a red dot already installed, but does include a muzzle break. On a .22lr...no idea why S&W thought a muzzle device is needed..... https://www.gunbroker.com/item/929154085 Would this firearm be NJ legal or would it need compliance work? Thank you, George
Mr.Stu 1,884 Posted April 7, 2022 What makes you think it may need compliance work?

Good thing to remember is that muzzle brakes are legal but flash hiders count as 1 evil feature on semi autos.
Mr.Stu 1,884 Posted April 7, 2022 Flash hiders are only illegal on semi-auto rifles that also have 2 other banned features. You can have a flash hider on an M1 Garland or a Mini-14, for example. On a handgun, it must have 2 other banned features and be threaded such that it could accept a flash hider. The flash hider itself is not a banned feature for a handgun, therefore if it was an integral part of the barrel, or attached other than with threads, it is legal.
