SW22 Victory Performance Center...question and advice please

Recommended Posts

There is a S&W SW22 Victory Performance Center on gunbroker.com that is interesting me.    It has a red dot already installed, but does include a muzzle break.    On a .22lr...no idea why S&W thought a muzzle device is needed.....

Would this firearm be NJ legal or would it need compliance work?

Thank you, George

Mr. Stu....honestly I wasnt sure.  Thats why I asked

Always good to check in this stupid state!  Good thing to remember is that muzzle brakes are legal but flash hiders count as 1 evil feature on semi autos.

Flash hiders are only illegal on semi-auto rifles that also have 2 other banned features.

You can have a flash hider on an M1 Garland or a Mini-14, for example.

On a handgun, it must have 2 other banned features and be threaded such that it could accept a flash hider. The flash hider itself is not a banned feature for a handgun, therefore if it was an integral part of the barrel, or attached other than with threads, it is legal.
